When you sell $1 per year how you cover a PayPal fees? Or you just expect to sell thousands accounts per day or week? For hosting in US its not reliable.

        • Hi,

These are limited time promotions with limited stock on each package, exclusively for LowEndBox. These discounted plans are not something we sell on a regular basis, and is not listed anywhere else on our website.

Please feel free to give our service a try with the $1 package, I’m sure you’ll be far impressed with the value and service. If you are happy, you can keep the service or even upgrade.

We have been in business for over 4 years and have over 15,000 clients – I’d like to think we know what we’re doing to still be in business today, doing better and stronger than ever :-).

    • Coincidentally, after Serchen sent me over 10 emails trying to get us to pay for advertising on their website and I finally declined, those reviews surfaced on their website randomly, and those names don’t even come up in our database.

Not sure what to say about TrustPilot, other than the fact that 3 reviews were posted on the same day with similar writing style. And none of those names come up in our database either…

Give us a try yourself and if you’re not happy I will refund you? :-)

    • Hi, I’m just a happy reader here at LEB. I don’t usually comment here, for English is not my first language. But upon reading this comment about reviews on alpharacks, I was move to make my response to it.

I am just new to VPS hosting around four months, but I use shared hosting for 7 years now. I already have 7 VPS (openVZ, KVM, VMware) not an expert but have enough knowledge to operate all these. And before having these VPS I use to read more than 10 reviews from google. But it turned out many reviews are not actually honest. I usually bought from EIG companies, and some (I cancelled all my orders from them) for I always have problem with them. So after a month of searching for new provider I decided to try offers from LEB ( a friend recommended it to me) at first I’m hesitant to try, because I always think low cost have bad service. But I’m totally wrong, after trying some like hostigger, hiformance, woothosting and lastly alpharacks I could say reviews on google are not supposed to be trusted always for many of them doesn’t really know what the review, they just simply put for personal gain. I was not paid to post this, I just want to help.

Maybe you will experience some problems, but reaching their support will solve most of it, some may reply within minutes but many reply within hours. So, the best way to find good products (maybe in the hosting industry) is by trying it. I have also read the two reviews posted above and thank God, I did not totally believed them, as it turned out they are wrong. As for alpha racks I have purchased a master reseller plan which is working fine. I also plan to buy VPS from them to try. I trust more the people or comment here than on any forum or reviews.

      • Mark that’s definitely understandable and unfortunately it is true that the nature of the internet industry involves disgruntled competitors, as well as “advertisers” or “paid hosting review” sites who just want to get paid out. We won’t give in to any of those unethical practices. We will just continue doing what we’re doing and do our best to provide the best level of service possible, because word of mouth and referrals from happy customers is the best form of advertising, and is the reason how we’ve grown to over 15,000 customers today.

I am glad to hear that you are happy with your Master Reseller plan with us! We strive to keep it that way, in case of any assistance required please feel free to contact us.

    Hi!
I am interested in your Reseller Business Plan, but when I tried to order it I saw that “Dedicated IP Address” mentioned as part of this plan was additional service for $18/y. So the sum of this plan is not $19/y, but $19 + $18 = $37! Would you explain me this?

This is available, however our order forms just need to be updated. I’ll work on that shortly.

Go ahead and order with Debian 7 – after your order, you will be able to reinstall your VPS instantly in the SolusVM panel to a newer version like Debian 8.

No company in the Low End market is going to satisfy every customer need because it’s the low end market. Many customers expect high end, managed services for nothing.

      November 6, 2017 @ 9:26 am | Reply
    • Most of the complaints you see have not been validated. As you can see, I always go out of my way to help, and often times they never end up contacting me, not even to validate their complaint. For the very few who have contacted me, I made sure a resolution was provided. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: we do have some of the lowest and unprecedented prices in the market, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a competitor out there who isn’t playing fair.

On the flip side, we also have a good amount of happy customers and positive reviews. Generally speaking, happy customers in this industry don’t tend to voice it, so the fact that we have some customers who are taking the time to speak for our service, means a lot (thank you!) and is a good sign that we’re doing things right.

I would recommend trying us out for yourself, we have a 3 day money back guarantee if you are not happy for any reason whatsoever, you can request a no questions asked full refund.

Agreed, have a reality check people! At this price, someone isn’t going to spoonfeed you, you need to pick up the fork and feed yourself. If you want that, go with Bigscoots or Knownhost for managed server.

As for alpharacks, they are fine for the price people. No complaints with my VPS, it does exactly what they promise and serves my website just fine. I’m even running a personal VPN on it simultaneously

        My Review

So for I have sign up with Alpha Racks without any issue. The VPS is stable so far. Their response is good and I mean really good customer service.

For those who wants to give Alpha Racks a try, you wont regret signing up with them using their Linux VPS Special.

I am comparing them with Providers below:

        1.VMBOX (Crappy and Rude)
2.Owned Networks might be good but they love to change users IP address without letting the user know.

i’ve had nothing but issues with server overloading on the reseller plans. I have had my 2 accounts moved to new servers at least 3 times. They are not stable enough for production hosting. Even using it as a dev server to build website has issues with the server itself is overloaded. I Monitor the hosts and i get bursts where the sites will go offline for a couple of minutes at a time. a check of the server load shows it well above on what it should be.

Emails to tech support get the same stock standard answers.

Buyer beware is all I can say.

These servers are great for what you pay, the electricity alone would cost me 10 times as much to host at home or office

    November 8, 2017 @ 6:13 am | Reply
    • Glad to hear that you’re enjoying this offer!

If you are paying with 2Checkout payment method, their payments review team manually reviews each payment into their network, this process can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 90 minutes depending on them. We don’t even receive the funds on our end until they approve the payment. As soon as it shows up on our end our system detects it and automatically provisions your service.

If you’re in a rush, I suggest you pay by PayPal for true instant activation.

None of our servers are down.

Sounds like your IP address may be blocked by our CSF firewall. We have CSF configured on our shared servers to ban an IP temporarily after an excessive amount of failed login attempts to IMAP, cPanel, email, etc, for your security. (this is also standard security procedure when it comes to shared hosting)

Please open a ticket with us with your local machine’s IP address and we will update you with the exact reason and get the block removed

Today, 1 of our 10 VPS with alpharacks got entirely terminated without any notice or explanation.

The reason is “abuse”. this has been an ongoing issue with them, however, the service was usually suspended, and after 10-20 painful tickets over the course of weeks, it was resumed. this time they just shut it down, claiming it was refunded. can’t see any refund yet though. stay away from alpharacks. we are using approx. 50 VPS provider world-wide and not 1 of them is causing us such trouble.

    November 10, 2017 @ 10:54 am | Reply
    • Chromodo, this does not sound usual and I would love to know more about this. We don’t ever terminate people like that, only time we terminate is due to non-payment or being excessively overdue, and that process is automatically done by our billing system, WHMCS.

Furthermore I was not able to find a customer named “Chromodo” in our database. Please email me at julian [@] alpharacks [.] com, with your account information so I can check this out.

      November 14, 2017 @ 11:18 pm | Reply
    • Yes, and watch out – you may not notice this, but Alpharacks will not send you a normal “one-off” paypal charge, they will send you a request for a yearly payment (“preapproved payment”). This sounds absolutely fine until you realize that if you are not pleased with their service (like I was) and decide to cancel the service in the middle of the year, they will *still* charge you for the second year, automatically, through this “preapproved payment”! This happened to me and now I’m trying to get them (unsuccessfully, so far…) to refund my yearly payment.

All I can say is – refuse any “preapproved payments” to Alpharacks. Only pay them one year at a time, like all other hosting providers do.

      November 21, 2017 @ 3:45 am | Reply
      • Damian:

Uhh. What are you even talking about dude? With how WHMCS works, You get to choose whether you wanna set up a recurring subscription or not. And if you do set up a recurring payment and change your mind later, you can always cancel it on your PayPal account.

I am not a client of Alpharacks yet (I’m waiting for their Black Friday deals!!), but I think that’s pretty standard with WHMCS, which is the billing system they use. I am a customer of hawkhost, Virpus, and have used over half a dozen other hosts in my lifetime – and the same thing. You can choose automatic recurring subscription so you don’t have to worry about renewing, or one-time checkout and worry about renewing every cycle.

        November 21, 2017 @ 11:23 am | Reply
        • I never “chose” a recurring payment of the sort you described – Alpharacks must have set that up for me. Why would *anyone* want to set up an automatic payment every year, forever, for a service which you’ll surely stop after a few years?

Anyway, I can understand honest mistakes. But this was not an honest mistake. They know I have this “recurring payment” (which they set up), and they still sent me a bill to pay before the time of the automatic charge (hoping I would pay twice!). And when I reported the mistaken charge, they *refuse* to give me back the money. Now I had to resort to a Paypal claim (we’ll see how that goes…). Does that look like what an honest company would do?

    November 23, 2017 @ 11:13 pm | Reply
    • Well like anything in life, you need to plan, if you fail to plan.. well, you plan to fail…. it is that simple.

A good business will always have a back up plan as you can not rely on SLAs to save your business. An SLA only means that if it is not met, then you get a credit on the account *at best*, this does nothing for your customers if you have no backup plan.

Always have a backup of sites if you are reselling, or tell the customers that they are responsible, or better yet, do the back up and still tell the customer that at the end of the day if your back up fails, it is still on them to back up their data.

Whatever your business model, do your homework, make notes, and most of all plan and then ask “what if…” to prepare for disaster when a customer calls you at 2am saying their site is not working.

  61. hi Julian,
The support staff seem responsive, although they tend to cause more questions than answers.
see:#539236 which I opened, and due to the limited response of not explaining things to a new customer whom is not familiar with your portals and control panels, I am left to make assumptions or just be dumbfounded as to where to look to get a VNC console, as a one sentence response often does not provide a clear answer.

I did take several attempts to look at the Knowledge Base but it does seem quite limited in info regarding the usage of the portals and control panels.

I hope this last reply will settle it.

Service has been completely down for nearly 10 hours. Only told “filesystem check” in progress. Alpharacks did not even take the time to tell customers their was an issue and expect downtime. Had to open a ticket to find out.

Be last time I place any trust in Alparacks and just cancelled next yearly rebill.

    • Hi Susan, currently one of our shared hosting servers is undergoing some maintenance. In particular, the justice server is undergoing a FSCK check. Sometimes there is no way to predict a FSCK check, it’s the nature of the server business. We posted an announcement about this here, and will continue to update here with updates. https://www.alpharacks.com/myrack/index.php?rp=/announcements/18/Emergency-FSCK-Check—Justice.html

Thanks Julian. The point is: you must not think your customers deserve a simple alert telling me there is a MAJOR issue and all their sites will be down for hours.

Wishing you guys best of luck in your future endeavors.

All sites down since Wed, Dec 6, 2017 at 2:16 PM. Very little communications. I have cancelled this service. Sadly this whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and tarnished my view of Low End Box.

In all fairness, it’s really *not* their fault.

When I used to work for Arvixe (pre EIG….) they would have multiple servers down (normal given their large footprint and # of servers) at a time, for extended periods of time due to servers prompting “FSCK” checks. And a couple servers per month would have client-impacting data loss.

When I used to work for HG years back before working there, same exact thing.

I think it’s pretty expected of shared hosting servers.

Agreed, anyone who has worked with servers can definitely sympathize. It happens to the best of us :(

          • I am puzzled as to what this has to do with “lowendbox” as it is a blog site, not endorsing anyone or anything.

Also these things happen to the big boys too, but as Susan may never have seen it (Telco’s go down, online banking down, we even had a major data corruption in the banking records of one of the “big 4” banks here, ie big 4 means they are the major players). Hell, we even had #CENSUSFAIL (look it up, it happened) so yes it can be an inconvenience, but that is why you need to plan for this and have a back up, if your margin is so slim you rely on a low cost service and no back up? That is you (Susan) planning to fail, as you are failing to plan for DR (aka Disaster Recovery). I think our friend Susan needs to adjust her pricing and attend to the customer expectation if she is reselling.

True, its the fault of customer who are paying for downtime and poor service.

          • @Berry, You seemed to miss my previous point, planning is the key to business success, things happen, it is how you respond to the issues that makes or breaks a business.

Even the largest hosts can have outages, guess what? life goes on…. have a backup plan, simple really.

For me, I pay top dollar for my tele-housed box locally, and use alpharacks as a backup, so if there is overselling and outages, they probably will only affect me if they coincide with an outage of my tele-housed servers. So you are partially correct, although it may be something outside of the customer’s control, if the customer does not have a backup plan, that is on them.

I trust you also have a backup plan and not just praying the data centre you have your VPS in does not get blown up or catch fire, etc….

Say what you want but service went down on Dec 6th. It is Dec 13th and is still down…

I of course have backups and moved important sites to a reliable host but, 7 days and not even a simple apology / update from the mangers/owners of Alpharacks tells me all I need to know.

Don’t get fooled with fake reviews. Just google and you will know the reality of this company.
    1. Server’s are over sold, due to that performance is very poor.
    2. DOWNTIME. My account is on justice server with is down from 6th Dec. (yes its unbelievable ).

Well, I am on their latitude server and don’t have any trouble.

If you guys are having trouble with justice, just ask them to move you to another server.. I’m sure they have hundreds of other servers.

  69. This is an oversold junk, don’t buy it, u have been warned !
After downtime every hours, everyday on shared hosting, I dispute from paypal, and they close my hosting immediately.
Email said u have been suspended, but in reality, your user has been deleted, hosting has been removed, no backup created, no mercy for ya.

Please look at ticket #155329, my VPS has a bad IP that can’t be accessed from anywhere except from another AlphaRacks VPS or somewhere else in the Quadranet LAX DC.

Can’t even SSH into the VPS but can log in with the console. There is no connectivity, can’t ping 8.8.8.8.

Ticket has been open for 3 days with no response.

Signed up for the service last year. It was awful. Chose to cancel the service and close my accounts. One year later, I get hit with recurring charges. Typically, when you cancel a service, the company will also cancel the recurring charge setup. Not AlphaRacks. Not only is that onus on you, but they’ll ignore all of your requests to refund the charges.

The service is so bad they need to have someone slap them with a class action lawsuit at this point.

  73. I was very excited about the services and pricing they advertise here but after you order is a totally different thing. I signed up for the Reseller Business Plan, which gives you 200gb space and offers a free IP when I placed the order had to open a ticket for them to deploy my service since the payment was made 2 days ago but no deployment was made yet. Secondly I asked for the dedicated IP they mention here but ticket took 2 days to be replied and they stated that this service has no free IP anymore, I was ok with that but I think you shouldn’t advertise something that is not being sold anymore, so just take this AD down because people will go for that. Third, I have made an upgrade to double the storage 200gb originally with upgrade 400gb, payment was made but no changes were made to my plan, so I had to open another ticket that took another 3 days to be replied stating that my upgrade was applied to my plan already and now I have 200gb of storage, but wait if my initial plan was 200gb of storage and then I made a Double Storage upgrade I was supposed to get 400gb isn’t it right? Or am I pretty bad with math? So here I go again another ticket, 4 days waiting now and no response yet. I am pretty pissed at this moment but I guess “You get what you pay for” right?

I think this the worse company I have ever hosted my website with, their customer service is nothing to write home about, It’s been 2days after I paid for the Master Reseller Special #2 (Dedicated IP), my package is still on pending, I contacted them to activate my package, they said that their datacenter is facing a route issue which is causing downtime for some customers.

I requested for a refund since i needed this service urgently, now they have refused to refund my money, I which I saw this comment above me earlier on before placing an order, I wouldn’t have wasted my time and resources with Alpharacks.
