The FAQ does not address a trial period. I am interested in using VPN, and want to see if my favorite streaming sites have it blacklisted.
Feel free to give our service a try, you can request a refund within 3 days for your full money back :-)
Julian
I gave it a try, and Netflix is for sure blocked.
Not to mention I did encounter many VPN problems.
See https://www.wired.com/2016/03/netflix-discontent-blocked-vpns-boiling/
Last year, Netflix has blocked all VPN’s, and all server IP addresses from accessing their entertainment platform.
This has nothing to do with us, and is unfortunately not something that we can govern.
Julian
AlphaRacks is a pretty good company. I’ve been using them since they were RIJX :)
Hi, thank you for choosing us. If you need any help, we are here to provide you with exceptional 24/7/365 support!
Julian
Interesting offers. Do you support rDNS/PTR on your IPs?
Thanks, Glen
Yes, absolutely! rDNS can be set for you. Just send in a ticket and we’ll be readily available to assist.
Julian
Thanks. I will place my order now!
+1 for the quick customer support and instant server activation :)
Glen, thank you for your order!
Julian
The “DDoS mitigation by QuadraNet Vest” is of how much bandwidth and/or PPS?
donB, the protection level is 3Gbps / 1.5MM PPS.
Julian
Hello AlphaRacks. I’m a customer looking to open another vps with you. Can I please get the 1 or 2 gig plan with kvm instead of openvz. I’ll pay extra if you will. Let me know, ok.
Hi Les, please send us a mail to sales@alpharacks.com and we can customize a KVM VPS plan for you
Julian
I have been with AlphaRacks for a long time.
Basically the service is ok.
It’s cheap.
But most of the time, their network is slow, maybe too many customers?
So if only for web page browsing, it’s ok.
Its AUP allows VPN use, but you maybe banned if you created too many connections.
I have no idea why too many web browsing connections trigger their ban policy.
I have 2TB bandwidth and have only used few hundred MB…
The good thing is you can submit a ticket, argue with admin, and if you win, they will remove the ban. Otherwise you lose your VPS for 24 hours.
Only one bad experience is, if unfortunately your assigned IP was banned by some countries, their admin won’t give you a new IP unless you beg them.
While other VPS providers immediately give you a new IP if you submit a ticket.
I hope AlphaRacks can do better though your price is lower than other provides.
Chuck, this isn’t the type of experience that we want you to have at AlphaRacks, and I apologize if we failed to meet any of your expectations. Complete customer satisfaction is vital to us and we strive to provide our customers with the best experience possible. Please allow me to take a close look into this situation for you and resolve any outstanding concerns – please e-mail me at julian@alpharacks.com including your account number/email.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Julian
Hi, Julian,
I think what I mentioned are general problems for all customers.
As John Roy mentioned, we feel probably overselling.
Hope you can solve the problem, make all customers happy, not only those who complained.
Thanks.
Hi Chuck, this does not sound right and what you described does not reflect the service we work to provide. Please allow me an opportunity to verify your issue first, and if it exists I will help you resolve it, my email is julian @ alpharacks.com
Sounds like extreme overselling
I just purchased a 2GB VPS with them. And I agree to your statement that their network is quite slow.
The network performs well for me. Contact their support?
Yes, I’ve been negotiating with the support regarding the same. Hope its Set right.
donB, please provide me with your ticket number and I will be happy to take a look
@Julian Ticket no #463712
I don’t see Ubuntu 16.06 in the list of OS. Can you install it on VPS on request?
We have Ubuntu 16.04, and working on 16.10 which should be coming out in a few weeks. These OS just aren’t on our order forms yet (I’ll update that shortly). After your order, just log into the SolusVM CP and reinstall your VPS to Ubuntu 16.04
Julian
You can setup 14.04 initially, and then upgrade in in console.
donB is correct here :-)!
There are known issues with the upgrade where it fails and locks you out of VPS. That is why many people ask hosts to provide the template, it requires some customization on their end. Can anyone confirm a successful upgrade on a fresh install openvz vps?
Those having no expertise in handling console based OS upgrade, may setup Ubuntu 16.04 from the SolusVM VPS control panel after purchase.
I’ve had issues with AlphaRacks in the past but everything is working currently. There seems to be some occasional CPU abusers and probably some overselling that will bog the machines down to snail speed.
But for the price I’m still satisfied overall.
John, I’m glad you are satisfied overall :-) Send me an email julian @ alpharacks.com with your account number/email. I want to make sure any problems are fixed and that you’re 110% satisfied!
I Have Been Using Alpharack’s Windows VPS For 10 Months so Far, and Couldn’t Be Happier! I Just Ordered another VPS ( 640MB Plan. ) Am going to try 2 set up a small Website on it.
Can’t beat the price. Thanks Guys .
Thank you for the great review!
Do you offer vps reseller??
We can do this, please send us a sales ticket and we can discuss your requirements.
https://www.alpharacks.com/myrack/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=2
I think I will give them a shot and move over a few nodes from another host. Online reviews aren’t great but people seem positive here.
What if positive reviews came from alpharacks themselves? Anyone can post it. That said, I was a customer who had to resort to filing a complain with paypal. But damage has been done.
Not trying to play devil’s advocate here (and I can assure you we are not writing any reviews ourselves), but it can also go the other way around. In my defense I have not received a single email from someone who reported a complaint here, no one is responding or contacting me with a ticket number and their names are not even existent in our client list.
We do have some of the lowest and unprecedented prices in the market, so it makes me believe that there may be a upset competitor out there who isn’t playing fair.
Julian
It seems their tech support responds very quickly, but their billing department seems to sit on its thumbs when asking for a refund.
Billing is not a 24×7 department, support however is available 24×7. However, our billing personnel still answer billing tickets as fast as we can, during normal hours.
What is your ticket number?
Julian is a very tactical marketer. Just look at his posts in blackhatworld forums and the way he wrote posts just to get attention or ranking and observe the names and writing style of some of the reviewers here. They were also quick to comment. He may also be the sole tech support responding in different names himself. Just observe the style and the response time.
Now the real review: Alpharacks is good if you want it cheap and for testing non critical data. Don’t expect to utilize even much of allocated bandwidth. It’s impossible due to their firewall banning and throttling rules and overselling of their servers that bog down to crawl speed. It may gets better intermittently and most of the time more issues will arise after months of usage when you are more or less settled as a client. Don’t get me wrong. AR is definitely still a good option if you only want to use it for really low end crap and wouldn’t be bothered by occasional technical hiccups.
I ordered the lowest package, working like a charm! My question is, would it be possible to upgrade to a higher plan in a few days, or later on if I need to?
Let me know…
Sure you can upgrade your VPS in the future, contact our sales dept.
Julian
How many nodes do you plan to sell on each server?
Hello Julian,
Is user mode linux allow in your openvz VPS? Thanks!
All OpenVZ VPS include full root admin access, which means the server can be set up, configured in any way you like. You can create users aswell.
Julian
Real Review;
VERY SLOOOOOW!!!!!!
OVERSELLING!!!!
;
True mate. The network is damn slow. Tried test downloading a file located on another VPS (Sold by someother reseller) hosted on the same QuadraNet, LA Data center; still is stuck in 900kBps-1MBps.
May be something is not right with the upstream DC.
Wouldn’t be correct to blame AlphaRacks for an upstream network failure. Hope they get it fixed soon.
“idk” – sorry to hear about the experience you claim you’re having. If you could message me with your ticket number or account number, I’m interested to look into this.
Julian
How much is KVM with no Windows licence?
You can view our KVM VPS plans at ->> https://www.alpharacks.com/kvm
How much linux swap space is provisioned on the 2G Linux/GNU package? Can we request custom space within reason? I believe the recommendation is 2:1 swap:physical but I have 1:1 on another box and it seems to work fine.
Opened a ticket on their site, looks like they will do 1:1 if you open a ticket
No vSwap on these offers sadly however go ahead and open a ticket after you order, and we will match your vSwap to your amount of RAM for free.
Julian
Where are the servers?
Hi Igor, our servers are located in Los Angeles.
Any idea if either WIN-3, WIN-4 or WIN-5 will also be offered to us folk? You will definitely get my custom :)
Hi Paul,
Please send us a mail to sales@alpharacks.com. we can customize a Windows VPS plan for you and work out a deal, in the email please say the specification you preferred :-)
Julian
I am also one who had a bad experience with alpharacks.
I had a vps with for 4 months and it was quite good, so i hired another one. This was a bad move. less than one month after i hired the second one, i started having issues the whole time. My VPS are shut down at least one every 2 months for no reason. Disk is reeeeeaaaally slow. And sometimes load goes to 5 or 6 for no reason at all. Most of the time its impossible simply to log into it.
Network OTH seams to not have been a problem. All else (cpu, load, disk, random shutdowns) is.
Girino, have you contacted our support department about this issue? Either way, send me an email julian @ alpharacks.com with your account details. I want to make sure any problems you are having are fixed and that you are a satisfied customer.
Julian
Just bought one, mtr result to Shanghai,China looks prety good. See attached.
Already doubled bandwidth and G port. Thanks, Julian.

I don’t see Debian 8 listed. Would it be possible to get a Debian 8 Minimal template loaded with a service ticket?
Debian 8 is in control panel, so you can re-install with it later.
This is not on the order form yet, but after your order you can reinstall your VPS immediately to Debian 8 or Debian 8 Minimal in the Solus panel.
Julian
How is the network setup?
A p2p setup? Or a traditional static IP with a separate gateway on the same subnet?
All VPS receive a dedicated/static IPv4 address. Native IPv6 is available at no cost upon request.
Julian
Not what I was asking… That could be said for nearly every VPS out there..
How is the network setup?
Static IP and the gateway on another IP in the subnet? Or the Point-to-Point style with no gateway?
Static IP and the gateway on another IP in the subnet
garbage

So or Europe is slow as hell, ping from Germany 150~. Actually that cause long distance, so if you no in USA or so you will get something like this: 2017-03-17 08:11:58 (2.73 MB/s) – `100MB.zip’ saved in 37s (Frankfurt, Germany).
And something like this (I thinks this is much closer – thinkbroadband file test):
2017-03-17 08:10:40 (17.3 MB/s) – `512MB.zip’ saved in 30s.
Also some pings for example (10 packets):
Russia – Avg = 194.725 ms ; USA LA – Avg = 11.788 ms ; China – Avg = 255.125 ms (1 packet loss); Germany – Avg/max/mde = 173.144;
If there is an issue you would like for us to escalate to our network upstream, please submit a support ticket.
Julian
Well, at least I did so. But I always get a same absurd reply stating that the network is fine, with an attached speedtest report from a nearest host node! All the detail which I’d enclosed with proof, regarding a damn slow network speed, even when I download a file which is hosted on the same datacenter location as yours, seems to have been flushed down the gutter by your support staff executive. I’d also quoted my ticket number here when you asked, as you said you’d take a look; but you are probably busy in assuring fake concerns to other prospective customers in here.
The network is damn slow. Tried test downloading a file located on another VPS (Sold by someother reseller) hosted on the same QuadraNet, LA Data center; still is stuck in 900kBps-1MBps.
Strangely, they haven’t been able to resolve the issue despite 4 days passed. Hope Julian takes a glance at my ticket, which I’ve already provided to him here.
To give credit where its due, Alpha Racks are good for the money, you can’t really go wrong. I mean where else can you get a VPS for $8/year? I have two VPS with them since 2015 and everytime I need to use it, it works well.
Thanks for the great review, and sorry that I didn’t see your comment till now – I somehow overlooked it! In case you require any assistance, we are standing by :-).
Just bought the Linux VPS Special 2GB and upgraded to 1gbps. Logged on to console and the apt-get update is taking forever at 27kb/s!
Farhang, please attempt to update the repo servers to something other than the default. Through customer reports and through testing, the slow speeds you’re seeing through apt-get or through yum are due to the remote repository servers (nothing to do with AlphaRacks’ side). If you update it to a repo server that is less popular/common/used you should be seeing faster transactions on there.
Julian
Looking at Linux VPS Special 640MB to run docker cintainers. Which openvz version and kernel version is used?
Hi Damllo, Docker is currently only supported on our KVM VPS plans (https://www.alpharacks.com/kvm)
Julian

Tobing, please attempt to update the repo servers to something other than the default. Through customer reports and through testing, the slow speeds you’re seeing through apt-get or through yum are due to the remote repository servers that are included with the operating system by default (nothing to do with AlphaRacks’ side). If you update it to another repo server that is less popular/common/used you should be seeing faster transactions on there.
Julian
Ok dude, this sold me. That is just good network engineering and customer service/support.
Thank you for the great words. In case of any assistance you require, please feel free to contact us at support @ alpharacks.com :-).
Julian
Bought the 2gig plan. Good network speed result after upgrade to 1Giga port. :)
Glad to hear! Thank you for the order, and welcome.
what’s your refund policy? Can’t find it anywhere
I wanna give it a try.
We offer a 3 day money back guarantee
And you guys are yet to refund me even when it’s not even more than 3days, you guys are so damn fake, they refused replying my mail after I asked for refund, tryna ignore my mails not gonna help solve my bad experience with you guys. You guys should just refund me my money please.
Do any of the “Linux VPS Special” choices support Docker?
Thanks!
Docker is supported on our KVM VPS plans (https://www.alpharacks.com/kvm)
<3 alpharacks – used them for two years only two incidents (once was my fault)
Would recommend
Thank you for being a great customer, we appreciate the review!
nice offers, thinking about moving some boxes over from linode. Do you have minimal OS templates of centos available?
Yes, while we have limited selection in the order forms, that’s just to keep the order form simple and hassle-free.
After your order, we have a larger OS selection you can choose from and reinstall your VPS to in the SolusVM control panel after your VPS is deployed.
Julian
I want to use as VPN, but in your TOS torrenting is not allowed. What if I use download a torrent while using VPS as VPN server?
Hi Omer, this would not be an issue at all.
I ordered a Linux VPS Special 640MB
It is pretty slow. I ran my LAMP script with normally takes about 2 1/2 minutes to install, but it took 24 minutes to run here.
Support was quick thought. They moved me to another server, but it was still slow there. It’s not the fastest, but it works and support was quick. It would be fine for tinkering and testing stuff. I will probably just use it as a VPN.
Hi Andreas, thanks for your order. You might want to look into changing your repository servers to something that is less commonly used so you will see overall faster transactions with apt-get / yum.
Julian
I see that torrenting for personal use is allowed according to ToS. Can someone confirm this? If torrenting is not allowed.. can I run a VPN for my torrents?
Jack, that would not be a problem, you may go ahead.
Julian
I’m a returning customer who had a bad experience before..
but when i just signup for this new one..
well, it looks pretty good (My first vps is bad as jammed.. 30Kb/s)
This one..
That looks good.. Offer choice 2Gb linux. 18/year.

FOr the rest..
It sounds incredible, but it’s true.. i’m in atlanta. ga. us.
At time 0:05 3/21/2017 i purchase the vps..
On their website, local time 03/20/2017 21:14
i open a ticket request to double and upgrade stuff.. They respond me in really, one minute.. Telling My request are done..
It may sound like.. i’m a paid reviewer.. But i’m not..
P.S. Please ignore my grammar and spell mistake.. You just can’t force a chinese make zero mistake on his second year in U.S.
Thanks for the awesome review Steven!
Nice try as a chinese
Great company!
I opened a ticket at “03/21/2017 06:21”
Got resolution from Alpha racks staff member at “03/21/2017 06:29”
I must admit the support is fast.
Thank you. In case of any further assistance required, we are standing by ready to service you!
lucky you, I opened a ticket more than 24 hours ago and still no reply at all.

Nehemia,
Billing is not a 24×7 department, support however is available 24×7.
I looked at your account, and see that Joshua has already processed your refund (in less than 48 hours after your request was sent).

I know of other people who have VPSes from Alpharacks, and they generally perform well. However, having bought a VPS under this offer, I can say that this offering has poor network speed. I often can’t even SSH into the box.
Sorry to hear about that :-( Have you contacted our support about this? We are always available to respond to your needs.
Julian
Yeah, support resolved this issue fairly quickly.
Thanks for the update, glad to hear!
I am getting maxmind error when try to ordered one
Hi, your order has triggered one of our anti-fraud measures. Please open a billing ticket and we can perform a manual review.
Julian
I have been using my VPS from Alpharacks and currently heres what I can say so far… (If Alphabox wants to check my username is chiachichang on the box)
Currently using this as a Developmental Server/Backup Developmental
Pros:
Server isnt AS BAD as most people say it is.
Insanely cheap cost
Cons:
Server is down sometimes. It goes offline suddenly and its impossible to access (This occurred for about 1 ish hour yesterday at 2AM EST)
Support is either incredibly helpful quick/utterly hopeless. On one ticket they performed exceptionally, on the other, it seemed like they didnt even read the ticket..
I was INCREDIBLY skeptical at first, however, It seems to have worked out.
Is it an ideal server? No. It is a cheap server and I never expected it to perform 100% flawlessly. But for its cost its already performing beyond exceptionally.
To be completely honest, if the fixed the quirks Id be willing to buy a couple more.. But at this point I am already a happy customer.
chiachichang, I’m glad to hear that you are a happy customer, and I’d like to enhance your experience and make us the perfect web hosting solution for all your needs. I was able to identify your account and obtain your contact details, I’ll be following up with you over email.
Thank you for your custom!
I tried it and I felt it’s really slow and sometimes I can’t event connect for awhile.
I opened a ticket asking for refund (I was still 2 days in, and Julian in one of the comments here said that we have 3 days money back guarantee) and it’s been a day and a half (more than 24 hours) and still no response about my refund.
Julian, or any alpharacks staff, please refund my payment. thank you

Julian
I can only keep saying how poor Alpharacks service and support are.. Servers constantly going offline and no help from support. I have one ticket that is a mile long as they keep claiming the issue is fixed yet it happens again.
Nick, do you have a ticket number? I do not see any tickets with any issues like this, if you require my assistance my direct email is julian @ alpharacks.com
Thanks
is TUN/TAP and PPP allowed?
for openvpn setup?
yes it is allowed, I am running it but network is very slow – just for browsing.
Hi Ali, I see that our support techs have handled this matter for you over the weekend, but I just sent you a follow up reply to make sure things are still sailing smoothly. Feel free to get back to me in that ticket if you have any further questions.
Mush, yes, TUN/TAP and PPP can be enabled on demand in your SolusVM control panel.
Julian
VPS works flawlessly, decent enough performance and support is astonishingly fast.

Hi,
IRCd is OK right? just for less 50 users
Yes, you can run IRCd on our VPS
Mother fucker. Bastered don’t order vps from him.. they provide server with speed of 200-300kbps internet connectivity.
I suggest everyone to go elsewhere and get your vps.

Hosting our own local repository servers is on the road map for the near future as well.
Julian
Internet Speed is terrible :(
I’ve never had a vps so slow, really too frustrating it looks like the uplink is less than 1 Megabyte.
Even my 3G phone is faster, 6MB download takes 6 to 7 minutes to complete
Hi Pedro,
Where are you seeing this? If this is through apt-get or yum, it is not reflective of the network speed of the AlphaRacks VPS but rather the remote repository servers, which are out of our control. If you update it to a repo server that is less popular/common/used you should be seeing faster transactions on there. Hosting our own local repository servers is on the road map for the near future as well.
You can test your network speed by running this command in SSH:
wget -O /dev/null http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.tes

Typo :-) try: wget -O /dev/null http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test
Doesn’t even work.
Nem sequer trabalho.
Eu desisti de enviar bilhetes, eles sempre dizem que pode ser corrigido agora, mas é sempre lento
I made a typo in my first reply to you… the correct command to use is:
wget -O /dev/null http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test
I’m impressed that the $8/year is still going on. Very impressed too if it isn’t incredibly oversold…
It is indeed a spectacular price, and we provide unprecedented prices in the hosting market. These are limited time promotions exclusively for LowEndBox. On the $8/year plans, we don’t exactly make a profit on them, but we engross the cost through our marketing budget (no worries we NEVER increase prices on renewal, your price will stay the same for as long as you keep the service).
As demand continues to rise and we are reaching the quantities we wish to sell, we will be disabling new orders for the $8/year plans soon. If you are interested, it’s not too late to order one and lock in your low price :-).
Julian
Hello,
I have had service for about 4 days now and already I cannot login to my control panel on AlphaRacks. I keep getting a 500 Error and my VPS has been down once already. I am suspecting overselling as a few members have brought that up. Not impressed as of now. Hope it gets fixed soon, as their offers are unbeatable.
Eric, are you referring to the billing portal or the SolusVM panel? Have you contacted our support about this issue?
Our staff are standing by, always online ready to help.
I’ve been using AlphaRacks for a few days. Support for me has been quick. They immediately upgraded the bandwidth and port speed after a ticket. I realized about a day in that I was going to need something more powerful than the 640MB. That ticket was replied to quickly and my upgrade was then processed.
The network speeds aren’t as bad as people make it out to be. For the price, this service is absolutely worth it. I use Debian for everything and one of the first things I do is change the repo using netselect. Keep in mind, Debian’s default repo is in Europe and it definitely sucks. At the very least, you should be using httpredir.debian.org to automatically pick a closer mirror.
Erik, thanks for the tip. That is also what we recommend, netselect is a great tool for determining the best repo servers geographically and latency wise.
Julian
They have 2.6 kernel!! on their host servers and think it’s OK.
Sergey, nothing wrong with this, in fact, you’ll find the same with every OpenVZ provider. Keep in mind these are OpenVZ VPS containers, the way OpenVZ works is every container shares the same kernel as the host.
Our host kernels are maintained and kept up to date with the latest RHEL6 kernel versions with KernelCare. If you are looking to run your own kernel, you can look into a KVM VPS plan at https://www.alpharacks.com/kvm
Julian
Ya, I just pulled the Folding at home client and got over 1.5M, so I don’t know why everyone is harping so bad about speed.

Most of the complaints you see regarding speed are due to the default Debian/Ubuntu repo servers being based out of Europe, if you scroll up and see above comment, Erik has pointed out using netselect as a quick workaround to adjust the repo servers to something more close geographically which will yield faster transactions with apt-get.
I am glad to hear that you are seeing great network speeds, of course network speeds will vary based on the remote server’s geographic location, network connectivity, peering, etc
Can you install windows 7 on win vps instate of win servers?
Amaresh, with our Windows VPS plans since they are powered by KVM virtualization, we can mount any ISO for you if you provide us with a direct download link to it. After we mount the ISO to your VPS you can then console via VNC to finish up the install.
Please feel free to contact our support for further assistance.

Don’t use http://ftp.debian.org. Use netselect-apt to find the best mirror or just use httpredir.debian.org. You’re going from LA to Europe on Zayo just to get packages.
Thanks for the tip Erik. Netselect is a great tool for updating your repository servers to something closer to your server location, and something less crowded than the default repository servers that come with Debian/Ubuntu.

Signed up for 2GB Linux VPS offer. “Upgraded” to 1Gbps, and +1 core.
I haven’t had less than 50% packetloss for 5 days.
Opened 3 tickets, attempted to rectify the issue.
I can’t stay connected for more than 10 minutes at a time…
So… final ticket is a refund request.
exaraxe, I tried running a search however was unable to find your account. Please send me an email at julian @ alpharacks.com with your account number/email. I am here to help and want to ensure complete satisfaction!

I ordered the VPS on 4/01/2017 (email timestamp: Sat, Apr 1, 2017 at 12:48 AM)
I was not able to connect to the VPS to do anything even up until it was cancelled.
That is what they call services not rendered.
Please refund this, and save me a call to my credit provider to explain why it’s being reversed.

AlphaRacks Hosting – Defining Superior Service
Just lodge & Paypal claim, and escalate it straight after.
@jcn50, I took screencaps of all my support staff dealings, including the refund requests and my account being removed.
I also have made a case file with all the refund and bitcoin shadiness they’ve been doing. I’ve lodged complaints with a few bitcoin establishments as well as paypal against their accounts including the 100’s of complaints and refund issues they’ve had against them over the last 18 months.
Hopefully it’ll help someone down the road.
exaraxe, I tried running a search for tickets of similar content however was unable to find the ticket, nor locate your account by searching your name. I also attempted to ask you to contact me in an above comment, but did not hear anything back from you.
Please send me an email at julian @ alpharacks.com with your account number/email so I can firstly validate your account and look it up. After looking it up, I will investigate the situation and provide a resolution to make both parties happy.
Julian
@Julian, that’s because you guys deleted my account. So… Yeah, wonderful service.
Send an email to Julian, he is the one who sorted me out.
I sent 2, to which I’ve not had a response.
Hmm, did you email julian @ alpharacks.com? Because I do not see an email from you, can you re-send it?
We do not delete accounts. If you can please email me with your invoice number, I will remedy the situation and make sure you’re happy.
Julian
Really… then why does this happen when I try to use “Forgot password”?
The login worked just before my refund request.

Either you have someone working for you who you don’t realizing is making your business terrible, or you have people working for you intentionally running the business terribly.
Either way, Joshua Collishaw was the person I was speaking to before my account mysteriously disappeared.
I’m more frustrated with the fact that I didn’t further research your company beyond the social profiles. If I would’ve looked back at LEB and WebHostTalk for the last 18 months, I would’ve seen the numerous “refund” problems (meaning, refunding people fraudulently), and overselling services that will never provide what you offer.
I sincerely hope that one or all of my complaints does something to hinder your business.
Because either you’re encouraging people to do this at your company or you’re facilitating the people who are doing this without your knowing.
If it wasn’t a trend from 2015 till now, I’d say maybe it was circumstantial. But it is not.
Go ahead and send me that email with your invoice number or email, I’m interested to investigate and look into this matter right away.
Julian
Well I don’t know what some of y’all are argueing about, but my alpharacks server has been pretty damn solid for the past 3 months I have been using it. May I point out an observation. It just seems a bit funny how y’all complain but don’t respond when alpharacks come and try to help you out.
Daniel, glad to hear that your server is working out well. In case of any assistance you may require, please feel free to contact our support.
Julian
I haven’t used AlphaRacks for what seems a couple of years. It was a great experience. I think i had a $15 a year server in LA and would stream video to Australia with no issue. I’ll be getting one shortly as soon as i can think of something to put on it!
Matt, we look forward to seeing you back again soon! If there is anything I can help you with, feel free to ask.
Julian
Alpharacks honestly isn’t bad for what it is. Obviously you aren’t going to get a fully loaded Mercedes Benz at Honda Civic pricing but at least your getting something that is reliable, works well and for a cheap price. Don’t expect the world and just know you aren’t paying for that either. I am a very happy customer. There support always responds within 1 hr, which is more than OK. I’m not here to expect instant response times for 8 dollars a year.
I feel obligated to give AlphaRacks a good word here, as I feel like I am practically stealing from them with how cheap the VPS are, so this is the least I could do. What really shocked me is the responsiveness and the technical support they provide even for the cheap tier VPS like I have. Their support team spent a good few hours answering with my newbie questions last night, which I appreciated since I’m still learning the ins and outs of Linux.
One of the best providers I’ve ever used. Keep doing what you’re doing guys!
-Angelo
Thanks Neil and Angelo! Happy Easter to you both.
this is scam provider, i’ve got a vps 2core 1GB ram but I really find it wrong to buy it.
Phuc, customer satisfaction is important to us, and we strive to provide each and every single one of our customers with the best hosting experience possible. I apologize if we failed to meet any of your expectations. I’m intrigued to look into your account deeper and resolve any pending concerns – please e-mail me at julian@alpharacks.com with more information, so I can first look up your account, then review any issues that are pending.
Happy Easter!
Julian
I would strongly recommend this if you’re looking for a cheap server that will get the job done. Been using them since they bought out Rijx, and i can’t remember the last time I even had an issue. At under 10 bucks annually, I have no complaints.
Thank you for the great review! We appreciate your long term custom.
Julian
Do you have any promos on a faster Windows VPS with more RAM.
Looking for double up

Is VPN allowed? I want to get a VPS to use as a VPN tunnel (when I’m at work). I ask because some providers don’t allow it.
Guilen – yes, VPN is absolutely fine, and we have hundreds of customers using our VPS for this very purpose!
Julian
Hi Julian,
Is Torrentflux allowed on the VPS? I want to download files via torrent.
Regards.
Budiarno, for this purpose you would have to obtain either a KVM VPS (https://www.alpharacks.com/kvm) or a Dedicated Server (https://www.alpharacks.com/dedicated)

I was wondering if these prices are only for the first year then the prices will go up?
The prices will never go up! You will be able to renew in the following years at the same exact price.
Julian
Hi! Can I install docker on the Linux VPS Special 2GB? I would like to use a newer Ubuntu version (at least 16.04, or Arch Linux)
Thanks in advance for your answer.
To run Docker, you need to order a KVM VPS, it does not run on OpenVZ servers. (https://www.alpharacks.com/kvm)
We do offer the latest versions of Ubuntu on both OpenVZ and KVM, you can reinstall your VPS in the SolusVM control panel at anytime.
Julian
Tried the $5/mo Windows VPS — it is so slow it is unusable. You can’t even browse the web w/out pegging the cpu at 100% … dare not try to run any applications. I mean I expected it to be a little trouble with only 1024 RAM on a Win box, but goodness. That 1x vCPU is a killer — you shouldn’t offer a package that has no practical use.
I’m asking to upgrade to the $10/mo package, and hoping for better.
you should check you I/O Speed. Because mine is 5MB/s (Even USB 2.0 is faster than this). I can’t install anything without taking hours to complete.
Hi Yoko, our servers are running on enterprise drives with Hardware RAID 10 arrays, and we also have caching mechanism in place to provide great disk performance – you should only be receiving fantastic speeds!
Please send over a support ticket if you’re still seeing any issues, we will make sure to take care of this.
Julian
D Kelly, please send over a support ticket and we’ll be happy to investigate and tell you where the bottleneck appears to be.
I agree with you that Windows is a little on the higher side when it comes to resource consumption, especially when compared to Linux, but our entry level Windows VPS plan should be sufficient for basic needs such as light web browsing. You can always upgrade to a higher plan later too.
Julian
I am trying to grt through to sales team and its getting pretty hectic because i have been waiting for 24 hours now and i just cant get through to anybody who can resolv issue and sort out my server order.
Am currently having a very bad experience with Alpharack, they have really ruined my business down with their unreputable service and very poor customer service, you guys ain’t worthy enough to be in the industry, your service is so damn fake, you guys think you can get away with my money without giving me what I requested for? it ain’t gonna happen, amma makes sure I ruin your business too, fuck you alpharacks.
same problem with u @Dandy.
how is it possible like this. my blog can not be accessed, database connection error.
I try to check mysql database, but can not enter the database.
but 100% memory usage, a very disappointing experience at alpharack for me
*** Argh *** I tried to use AlphaRacks for Windows and Linux hosting. After too many emails yesterday asking why their Windows servers were only available through a Java browser console (in case you are not aware this is VERY insecure and you have to use an out of date browser to even run Java plugins now) I gave up and asked to cancel my subscription immediately and to refund my money. This was less than 12 hours after commencing the service and have sent numerous emails asking to cancel the service again today and I keep getting told that they have opened up VNC or that others are doing this (insecure practice) without a problem. If is not good enough that it takes customers leaving for the vendor to look at reasonable security measures and I want out.
Dont take my word for the issue, Oracle (who makes Java) announced in January 2016 that they are deprecating Java plug-ins for browser https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/us/security/news/vulnerabilities-and-exploits/oracle-finally-kills-java-browser-plugin. Or type Java browser exploit into Google and find out for yourself.
Love, peace and good vibes!
What is the throughput speed?
