Signed up, server was provisioned within 3 hours (easily within their 24 hour estimate).

Specification as per offer, fresh HDD (power_on_hours is 71).

Large range of OS installs provisioned via NOC-PS, plus system rescue (sysresccd).

    No problems so far…

What is the refund policy? Is there any kind of “within 24 hours” or “within 3 days” refund period? Can’t find anything on the site unfortunately.

No refund on our services usually, contact me directly and I will try to work something out.

It says 1 useable address, obviously only one can be used…

The other three are for routing (two gateway, one broadcast).

Not a very efficient way of doing things…
Also I believe you can try assigning and using the broadcast IP, but this can have some issues and/or may not work for all apps.

The network speed with this routing isn’t lower than with other kinds of routing…

          January 18, 2014 @ 11:27 am | Reply
      • actually, it’s network address, router address, usable IP, and broadcast address. the router address and usable IP can be in either order. but in any case you only get one that can be used.

Downloaded the 500MB file through the looking glass and was getting 40 MB/sec. My ISP acct is only provisioned for 100 Mbit/sec. Tried multiple times, same result. Doesn’t seem right…

That’d be because the clown-waffles use a compressible file (zeroes, nulls, whatever), and enable gzip compression on the server. It’s a really, really common tactic.

Sorry about that, you are right, mod_deflate was activated on the looking-glass directory, this is not the case anymore.

You can try our speedtest too: http://lausanne.speedtest.net and choose the one hosted by AlpineDC

    Offered a server from them.
I cant work even with its console because it always kernel panic, they gave me old server which crashes every minute. And there is only 256 MB SDRAM.
    Keep away from them.

    • Sebastien:

I think that it is a comment for another offer as we have no order from you.
It is not possible to have a server with only 256 MB ram, the lowest DDR3 ram available is 2Gb for this motherboard.

What? Switzerland, as most EFTA countries, requires data to be verified and stored for IPCustomer association for at least 6 months.

  12. got the server, great service, excellent communication, and if you aren’t doing something CPU-demanding, possibly a very good deal. not very useful for cryptocoin mining though, with two relatively slow cores. for all I’ve been ragging on PaulVPS, my $10/month spent with them gets me 6 times (3 times per VPS) the scrypt khash/s than the $33/month spent on this. so, about 20 times better value.

Hi, I have to admit to being keen on this. The killer for me is CPanel and extra IPs. I wld need 3 at least, 2 for nameservers and 1 for the sites to sit on. Can more be added and how much?

Is CPanel possible and how much? Extra HD 500GB?

I don’t need a top end machine, I do need people I can contact, decent download speeds [its a games sites, hosting my own and others games files] http://www.closecombat.org [I have just had a VERY bad experience with a cheap dedicated server provider in the US] I need server that is not going to vanish overnight and where despite low end, you get a service and are treated as a valued customer! 18. Has anyone tried to run a Bitcoin full node on one of these?
Most VPS won’t work because it required more than 150GB of disk space if you want to store the entire blockchain.
I am concerned that the weak CPU may not be enough.
