AroraNetworks – $6 OpenVZ VPS

Tags: , , Date/Time: October 13, 2009 @ 1:19 am, by LowEndAdmin
Update Nov 2009: As “expected”, AroraNetworks.com has been showing “suspended” page since early November and as of 20 Nov 2009, it is not resolved. Domain is now registered by someone else and parked at CR-T.com. Somehow I just knew it would happen. FAIL!

Via this WHT offer. Sorry no screenshot here because apparently (1) the domain was only registered last week, and (2) there is nothing on the website. Just a placeholder page and that’s it! But at least the ordering page is up, and according to WebhostingTalk it does give you opening special of $3 for the first month and $6/month thereafter. The VPS you get would have:

  • 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
  • 15GB storage
  • 120GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

No idea where the server is, but the website is hosted somewhere in Dallas TX — so let’s assume the servers would be using the same facility. Now, the poster veeblox does sound a bit familiar so I googled around. Found this WHT post, which some suspicious reviews have been posted. Moreover, I found this post on Veeblox.com, from yours truly 6 months ago! I was a bit sus back then with their $3 VPS and badly done website, and it turns out within a month it was already dead! The owner did a runner… And now he is back advertising his new venture on WHT.

Buyers beware.

Update: Just realised that the owner “Louis Lobban” of Bassett UK, started WiredServ.com as well back in June. And guess what — that hosting company is dead too. Looks like a serial entrepreneur here — except he is profiting by establishing companies that he knew that would not last.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.

  1. Hello There. :)

Yes I admit I started WiredServ but as we had relitavley few customers I had to sell, so I did. AroraNetworks Is however A reliable company and we have several Level 3 + Level 1 Techs and a support team consisting of 20+ So we are able to offer 24/7 friendly support. We have several nodes with thw majority being based in Kanas City, MO but there is also one that is based in Dallas Texas. These consist from Intel Core2Quads with the minimum of 8gb RAM and 2x 1TB Hard Drives and up to an Intel Xeon Servers with 32gb of RAM and 10x 1TB Hard Drives. All of our servers use a RAID-10 System so you will never have the trouble of loosing your site. But yes this $3 VPS is only for the first month and goes up to $6 thereafter. Oh and I would also like the OP to add that the first 10 customers get free DirectAdmin.

    – Many Thanks
    – Louis Lobban

  3. I’m so sorry but I suffer from minor dyslexia. Thus meaning that I struggle with English. I always have and I will always be open about it. I do try my hardest. but to be honest with you, my dyslexia has nothing to do with Virtual Private Servers. :)

    – Many Thanks,
    – Louis Lobban

  5. Not very “instant” setup.

I signed up 30 minutes ago, and don’t have my server.

  6. Hello There Daniel. :D

I apologize but where did we mention instant VPS setup? We do not offer instant VPS offers for several reasons. A) because of fraud checks b) because we have a high demand for VPS’ currently. But as you are not pleased with it we will work towards having instant setups by the middle of november.

    – Many Thanks,

  9. Hello There,

Please may I ask how this is an epic fail? I have happy clients already running the boxes. and I must say that AroraHost (The site/company I believe you are talking about) isnt even released yet meaning that of course the links will not work.

    – Many Thanks,

  11. It’s an EPIC FAIL because AroraNetworks.com fail to reolve as of today (let along showing suspended page for the last two weeks). Somehow I just knew it would happen from the start…
