Standard question: is it IPv6 available already?

Yes I see in your FAQ related Q/A (we are currently waiting on our datacentre to introduce IPv6, which we expect to happen later this year, before we introduce this ourselves) but this could be a bit outdated as some RapidSwitch hosted providers offer IPv6 since beginning of this year or so, that’s why I am asking.

    July 11, 2013 @ 3:16 pm | Reply
    • Let me chase this with RapidSwitch – last time we asked they were still testing.

I’ve had a ticket open with Bhost for 10 days now explaining that my VPS won’t boot after re-imaging no matter which of the provided images I use. As yet I’ve not received any kind of response despite following it up two days later and asking for a cancellation.

Obviously this may be an isolated incident but thought it worth mentioning whilst I’m here looking for a replacement.

That’s terrible news, I do hope you get it sorted. I Googled them and they have bad reviews about the support they offer. No doubt another IT company just selling extra space off their server, everyone is busy doing there 8-5 job and have no time to answer questions.

discount of 40% with the coupon code LEBSUMMER13 – this coupon lasts until end of August

Does this mean you can only use the coupon until the end of August (but the 40% discount is recurring), or that the discount itself only lasts until the end of August?

    July 14, 2013 @ 12:01 pm | Reply
    • The first. All of the coupons are recurring but you can only use them until August.

First of all, BHost is a best hosting I know! All my tickets has been resolved, all things works perfectly. Thanks!

My question: My current renewal period finished at 28/01/2014. Can I extend it for another year using this coupon? Can I have a discount in this case?

Thank you for the great service!

These guys are hopeless. I waited weeks for a response to tickets. I eventually cancelled because I just could not get responses from them, they then charged be another month, I complained and then days later I finally got a refund. They claimed they had sickness in their staff and could not respond. So if you want fast response you better hope no one is sick.

    • I’m sorry to hear about your poor experience. We had some staff shortages which resulted in delays processing tickets. We are currently replying to all tickets within 24 hours and are recruiting for a new member of the support team to help improve things even more – https://www.bhost.net/jobs if you know anyone who might be interested! Thanks.

Do you allow VPN on your VPS?

    July 17, 2013 @ 4:53 pm | Reply
    • Yes, we do. Subject to terms and conditions – the following is forbidden: “The reselling or provision of Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to the general public or to persons unknown to you (though the use of VPNs for non-public use are permitted)”. Hope this clarifies.

Perhaps you should add to your terms:

‘if you are paying £2.00 for a server dont expect a live server always and we’ll be arsy about it if you contact us’

        Ridiculous! Stay away from them!

When using the “reboot” command in any version of linux, the VPS goes down instantly without shutting down and the server doesn’t restart. I’ve opened a ticket about this and after a day someone replied that someone is looking into it. As of yet, it’s still not fixed.

Also, my VPS went down the other day and I was unable to boot or re-install via the control panel. I opened another support ticket but this went un-answered.

BHost’s support is slow which is not good for business.
I’ll be finding a new provider this week as I don’t recommend BHost.

Had a ticket open for 2 weeks about my speed being limited to 60kB/s when all I have ever run is a few wgets for sources and some updates (it only became this slow after the refund period) 1.96 GB of 250 GB Used

  23. Tried to get one of these. Didn’t really work out. I ordered, but it was not set up automatically. After a day or two I tried to contact them via the site and then twitter. After no word for almost a week, I opened a paypal dispute to get their attention. I got a response after 23 hours. No reply other than “full refund”.

IMO a pretty bad way to do business. I would have been happy if they’d just set up the VPS.

    • Sorry to hear this – not sure why this happened, most orders get fulfilled instantly and if not within an hour. If you give me a reference number of some kind (e.g. an order number) I can look you up and ensure you get a few months free VPS for the inconvenience.
