Cheap Windows VPS - $21/quarter 1GB KVM-based Windows VPS in 11 worldwide locations

cheapwindowsvps.com 2015-11-28 14-15-37Tony, from Cheap Windows VPS, has sent in this exclusive offer for a Windows VPS available in 11 locations across the globe, including Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam! On top of that, this machine has unmetered bandwidth on a 1Gbps connection.

The offer

  • 1GB RAM
  • 1x vCPU
  • 40GB SSD space
  • Unmetered transfer
  • 1Gbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4
  • NO! IPv6
  • KVM/SolusVM
  • Coupon: CM2015
  • $21/quarter
  • Order here

Please note there are always limits beyond those displayed in the case of unmetered transfer.

This does sound to good to be true if you ask me, but then again this could be a loss leader for Cheap Windows VPS. Unmetered 1Gbps in Vietnam? I haven’t seen that before. So I’d be very happy to hear from those that give this a shot. Windows is included with this VPS, though the choice is limited to Windows 2003 Standard and Windows 2008 Standard R2. Various Linux distributions are available as well. Normally there’s a surcharge for locations like Vietnam and Brazil (technically not included in this offer, but it could work), but the price override seems to take that away. So, ladies and gentlemen, please give this a shot and share your findings in the comments!

Cheap Windows VPS is a registered business in Canada and has been featured several times before. They are part of the larger Net3, which is also a registered Canadian company. Reviews in the past have been mixed, with some being very happy and some people running into issues. I’d be very interested to know more about who’s running Cheap Windows VPS, but that’s not the easiest thing to discover it turns out. They are traceable through registered companies, though, so you should be fairly safe doing business with these guys. I’ve put them in the ‘Exotic Location’ category because obviously, Vietnam is quite exotic in this market!

Host nodes run the following configuration:

  • 2x Intel Xeon E5-2620 CPU
  • 128 GB RAM
  • 8x 1 TB SSD
  • Hardware RAID50
  • 1Gbps uplink

Payments can be made using PayPal, BitCoin, Visa, Mastercard, and Skrill. Before you order, please read their Terms of Service and their Privacy Policy.

I have confirmed with billing that this is correct. My mind’s a little boggled but yes, this is a real deal. My VPS is up and running, no issues so far. FAST support, less than an hour turn around from inquiring, being transferred to billing (and advised that billing is not 24/7 like support is) and getting a confirmation. Running Windows 7 Enterprise and it appears to be registered. Excellent :D

  10. I signed up, and there seems to be good news and bad news.
First the good news. I signed up for $21 per quarter. I got 4 ip addresses 2GB memory and 60GB SSD The discount code resulted in a charge of just $21. Great value.
    Now the bad news.
Post setup required a couple of tickets to be raised before the VPS was usable. I had to ask what the 3 extra IP addresses were, and also to report that networking had not been set up on the server.
I wanted to set the rDNS for the main IP for the VPS. Unfortunatly the standard functionality provided by Solaris didnt work, so I reported this via another ticket. I was first told that this would be set for me in 24-72 hours!!. This didnt happen, so they then requested y PTR records for some inexplicable reason. It now seems I have been blacklisted from my own control panel and have no way to control the VPS.
To sum up. Great spec product. Terrible clueless service. I await a response from support!!

    • I just chased up support with regards this. It is apparent that they had done nothing and now advise that it should be resolved in yet another 2-8 hour wait. Caveat Emptor.

      • Apart from rev dns the full solarus functionality is available.Service and performance have been good apart from getting the run around and being dependent on support to set rev dns. Else good value and drama free.

take care this one is absolutly a scamer!
suspend my vps by excuse “cpu abuse” even did not run any program on its system.

    January 22, 2016 @ 2:50 am | Reply
  12. Same experience, VPS suspended for CPU abuse because I run same VPN daemons I run on 300 other VPS servers, none of them suspends my server because of it.
Suspended without notification too! I had to find out myself.

Second server I have with them in Brazil just stopped working 2 days after and in Solus it says The server is unavailable.

Basically bought 2 servers and within 7 days they both stopped working and the customer support gives no notification when a server is suspended.

On their web site there is no link for Client Area, design-wise they think about potential customers but not for existing ones.

This guys may very well be the worst service providers in the planet. I have a completely unusable machine from the 5th day on. Customer service is a joke on their clients – you’ll speak with them about networking and they will answer you about audio. I have tried hard to be patient but their incompetence borders the surreal. I strongly suspect this is actually a scam aimed at getting a one payment only – Is there anyone that has actually stayed with this company for more than a payment?
Order only if you don’t mind wasting your money. Wins the prize of the worst service I ever had.

I barely made it past the first one. Same single program running for the entire three months and the only problem was finding my server had been restarted multiple times or down repeatedly. Then shortly after paying for one more round I found the service suspended with no warning or notice at all and if I didn’t check on it I highly suspect they would have never said a thing. They claimed I had ‘too many connections’and showed me a log file with UDP connections which of course was impossible since the program only uses TCP and only connections on port 80 and is widely used enough that it’s verifiable. The ONLY thing it can do from time to time is run away with the CPU until it crashes itself which isn’t often. For unmetered I barely used any bandwidth and there was nothing…and I do mean NOTHING else on the server except the OS. Screw them, they can keep the 12 bucks and lose a customer who will ALWAYS warn people if they recommend these guys because in all the years of IT this is possibly the WORST company I’ve ever dealt with.

  14. After 2 month using their vps, suddenly my service disappear (unavailable). After clueless ticket, they sent this without any sorry at all:

    Hello [FIRSTNAME}<

Service was broken. I created a new server and sent the new IP via email

    Thomas H.

And goodbye to all 2 month data & works on their vps :3

Beware of these scumbags who terminate servers with no warning or reason. Considering it was barely used and there is no visible posted AUP the only items listed as reasons to suspend a server were things there is no way in hell I violated they are just trying to screw people. If you need a cheap Windows VPS host contact me and I’ll put you in touch with a reputable provider.

I also had a similar issue just recently where my server was experiencing crashes and then my VPS was just..deleted. Requested a refund. It’s a shame really. All that work gone. Oh well, off to find a new provider! :)

I will add to others who have already summed it quite well. These guys are horrible!

I had a vps running for a few months no problems, then all of a sudden it was deleted!

No email, no warning, just poof!

Good thing I had setup a backup system, otherwise I would’ve lost a ton of work.

It was just a vps running some accounting software, nothing weird or nefarious at all.

I wrote them an email questioning why my account was deleted, but I never received a response.
