I’ve been their customer for a couple of months with a VPS in Atlanta and one in Zurich.
What if you find out you have under 1MB/s speeds from everywhere in the world except CacheFly? Their response? “There’s nothing wrong” and “We do not offer refunds”.
That’s my case with Zurich VPS, and its advertised Gbit connection.

The moral is: you take it, you keep it. You are advised.

I find that people tend not to tell the whole story in cases like this. Do you have a ticket number?

I just did a test. It is as follows:

        System uptime : 28 days, 17:46,
        Download speed from CacheFly: 62.5MB/s
Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 7.48MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 4.21MB/s
Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 3.75MB/s
Download speed from i3d.net, Rotterdam, NL: 56.7MB/s
Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem, NL: 35.1MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Singapore: 5.62MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Seattle, WA: 7.99MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, San Jose, CA: 11.7MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Washington, DC: 8.66MB/s
        I/O speed : 85.7 MB/s

Mind you, anything outside of europe will be slower than our American locations.

Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem, NL: 810KB/s

        • Mike:

Oh and their first response was:
“The tests are all pulling from locations ~3,000 miles from your VPS except for cachefly”
NB: Zurich-Rotterdam is less than 370miles

If you really need it, I can send you the whole ticket, since you need “the whole story”.
          Regards

          • We can move you to another location if you’d like… the ZU network doesn’t meet everyone’s needs. It is 1 Gbps and Cachefly proves that the link does get speeds in excess of 300 Mbps easily. The peering there isn’t the greatest in the world and if you don’t like it we’ll gladly move you to somewhere stateside.

At the moment I’m just happy we are starting to have a dialogue. I’m sorry it happened because I wrote about my problem here, but I’m glad I did, and I hope we will work it out.
I will answer in the ticket itself, and I take this opportunity to wish everyone a merry Christmas.

Does anyone know is BlueVM owns their own servers or if they are a reseller of ChicagoVPS like some of the other providers? I’m trying to create a round robin type of backup/failover with my VPS’s so being on different servers is essential.

    • We own about 70% of our hardware… the remainder is on a RTO contract with ColoCrossing. We don’t share servers with anyone and we have our own SWIPs.

Just around 1month experience of BLUEVM
I have KVM4 in their Buffalo location.

I started with my KVM VPS around 15/11/2013.
In first week i experienced many downtimes, of more than 3 to 4 hours.
After this i submitted a ticket on 22/11/2013 with no 308448, that “WHENEVR I CHECK MY VPS IN 5 TO 6 HOURS GAP, I ALWAYS FIND MY VPS OFFLINE”.
Then same day, i was responded back that it will be rectified,
But till 30/11/2012 it was neither rectified, nor replied.
Than there response started coming, and i told them Downtime issue is still there and also performance wrt speeds are not that good,
SO FINALLY UPON REQUEST THEY SHIFTED ME TO NEW NODE ON 10/12/2013 which was S19 and earlier my node was S18.

Now again few problems came and honestly they resolved every problem on their IRC chat.
But still new node also have the same donwtime issue.

So i finally submitted a ticket on 25/12/2013 with no. 679373 asking them “VPS DOWNTIME IS STILL HIGH”, so upon request i was again shifted to new node, but it was the same node earlier on which my VPS was i.e my VPS have been shifted from S19 to S18.

Now i have requested them to please shift me any node where atleast my VPS runs stable for atleast a week and i am waiting for their reply.
I have no issue in even 2-3 downtimes in a month. But atleast for rest of the time VPS should run stably.

Finally i wants to write my personal reviews:

    1) THEY ARE REALLY GOOD IN ATTITUDE WHILE THEY SOLVE THE PROBLEM IN EVERY ASPECT. SO SUPPORT IS NICE

    2) BUT STILL THEIR NODES (on which my VPS was S18 and S19) ARE REALLY NOT THAT STABLE WHERE A CUSTOMER IS SATISFIED.

Hope nobody will take it personally.

I would like for somebody from owners of this company contact me … server is very slow I have requested couple of times to be transferred on a different node and nothing has been done.
Also login via SSH takes sometimes up to a minute, and I always have like thousands of failed login attempts according to the screen (after I log in).

Also right now, my VPS (Atlanta) is unavailable and in Feather CP it shows red circle and then when I try to start it it says “An unknown error occured, contact support!”

    • BlueVM user:

The problem with your SSH might be DNS or GSSAPIAuthentication. Try first setting UseDNS to no and if that does not work set GSSAPIAuthentication to no. I had this same issue with BlueVM and also with other servers. With those set to yes (the default) it can take a long time to login via SSH.

I tried to place an order. Shopping cart just hung giving me a blank page three times. First time I thought it was because I started in private browsing mode. Second and third time, I had to go back a page or two and the click on the next link in the chain of steps. Got to the check-out area, and tried to pay with bit-pay. Got the email for the invoice. Looked at the services on the site and it said it was status: fraud and cancelled.

This is getting bad. I would stay away from BlueVM. Their servers keep going down and people are waiting 4 days or more to get any response from their ticket system. My server has been down for 24 hours and no one has looked at my ticket.

  32. The support is very slow!
I was not able to access the VPS and I created a ticket, and they answered after 3 days asking me if is OK to recreate my VPS !? Now I hope that in 3 days they will recreate it :)!
