In May we asked our readers and community members to submit note worthy news that can be featured on LowEndBox. We got tons of feedback and we’re excited to start sharing all the news over the next couple months (and hopefully longer).
Today we are thrilled to be able to share our first community news tidbit about “WireGuard-install” the easy to use tool to help you setup your own private VPN, released by community member @Nyr. Over on LowEndTalk @Nyr has been a trusted member since 2011 (making him one of the very first users on LowEndTalk).
If you are looking to easily setup your own VPN/Proxy you should absolutely give “WireGuard-install” a look to save you time and provide peace of mind. If you need a cheap KVM VPS to host your VPN/Proxy on, we can help you with that, too.
About “WireGuard-install”
For those readers who would like to quickly get their own VPN server up and running, community member Nyr has released a new tool named wireguard-install.
This tool takes care of the installation and configuration of a WireGuard server on any of the popular Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and Fedora. The user is only asked to provide few details like a name for the VPN client or which DNS provider should be used while the rest of the necessary work to install WireGuard and configure the networking and firewall is performed automatically by the installer.
At the end of the installation, the configuration file is provided ready-to-use in a WireGuard client, plus a QR configuration code that can be scanned to easily configure a smartphone. Upon installation completion, the script also provides functionality to add new users or manage existing ones.
This open-source project is a continuation of Nyr’s OpenVPN installer, which is already popular among our community members and has been supported for almost a decade.

Does the wireguard vpn log our activities ?
How to make it so it doesn’t logging the user ip, data,etc ?
