Via this WHT offer. Delimiter USA “was created to overcome the weaknesses of an atrophying industry — in our experience, more common than uncommon experiences for web hosting customers are poor service, unfair fees, and high prices for insufficient hardware.” (excerpt from their abput page). Nice design, and more importantly good price on their starter VPS. For $6/month you get:
- 256MB guaranteed/1GB burstable memory
- 10GB storage
- Unmetered bandwidth on 100Mbps link
- OpenVZ
Interestingly, Delimiter USA has servers in Germany — or at least their website is hosted there. Domain has been registered since July this year (and last updated yesterday!) so pretty new setup.
Now the dirt digging part. The domain was registered by “Dann Fry” of “Victrola Vision, whose previous venture, VictrolaVision.com, has domain registered in March to provide some kind of hosting, but has already defunc. So was his previous venture “Valentrinne.com”. Update: According to Dann, the two domains were related to his web design show cases and have nothing to do with web hosting.
Well. The website looks decent. Hopefully it will stick around a bit longer.

Hi,
Just wondering, has any one got a VPS with them? Where are they actually hosted? (Location)
Regards,
Their servers are in Germany, which was the irony part of the story, as their domain name is delimiter.US
Must agree, so awkward.
I did some research, and hopefuly, if I’m right, they rent their boxes from Hetzner.de – who offer i7 servers from just 49€ a month (expensive setup though), it explains why the prices are reasonable. How ever, I did not like the fact that it is not clearly stated anywhere on their websie that their servers are located in Germany… Fortunately, this is an advantage for me, latency wise anyway, since I’m from Spain :)
Anyone got a VPS/Dedi box from them? How good is their support, uptime, security protection, etc?
Despite the advertisement that they offer an “unmetered” connection, they seem to have a bandwidth limit after which your VPS is limited…
I along some other customers are waiting for our VPS’s to be setup. Aparently, they got some new servers today in ‘their datacenter’, which just left me thinking…
Hello,
This is Dann Fry speaking; I’ve been misrepresented here — “VictrolaVision” was/is a showcase for my personal website designs which has not been updated in sometime, but is completely unrelated to webhosting. Valentrinne.com is also unrelated and was not even my website. if the editors of this webpage could clear that up, I’d be grateful, since the incorrect information is tied to my name when someone Googles “dann fry” or “delimiter.us”.
Delimiter will be permanent.
Posted updated reflecting what has been said here. Dann — having blogged about this end of industry (cheap virtual servers), excuse me for being investigative and suspicious on new providers. There are just way too many that have grabbed the money and run.
Any one got their VPS yet?
Yes, how good is tgeir service? Look at my question above ^^
will try them for one month.
thanks for the offer..
Hey desi, please post your feedback on Delimiter.US after a month of your hosting. Thanks.
I just signed up with these folks, on the VPS10 plan with a Ubuntu OS. I’ll post back here after a period of testing them out.
Having some serious issues with my VPS. It has been extremely laggy and inaccessible all day, now it’s simply intermittently inaccessible… Any one else having the same issues?
ordered nearly 24 hours ago..but still didnt got the details..
how much time do they take for setting the vps up ?
I think it’s a scam. I’ve signed up this weekend and have not received any notification. I’ve just checked my paypal payment and found that the email of the seller is djorlovsky@gmail.com. It also sets a periodic payment on your paypal account so remember to cancel that.
Well. We’ll see. I was a bit sus on this shop at the beginning but Dann emailed me saying that everything is legitimate. We’ll see.
Well, they have answered the support ticket I’ll post here any news.
@ Felix the king :D
please keep up updated..because I am highly interested in their plans ;)
Thanks !
its activated..I will post review after some days !!
Mine is set up. I’ll post here a review.
Where you Want to post CL ?
I’m using for 4 days.
Today the server is down and I cant turn it up in fluidvm.
I’m opening a support ticket, lets see whats happened.
Beside that, last 3 days everything is ok, except that here from Brazil the lag is about 200ms.
All systems come back now…
Hello,
I’m french and he says that all systems come back, but today, always problems…
I hope it will soon return.
so they dont have monthly plan? i have to sign up for 3months package. by the way how is th speed of their server
Representative from Delimiter speaking —
Just to keep things straight, the above comments concerning downtime are about one of our VPS nodes, which has been troublesome over the past few days. At one point the whole network was down briefly, but that is resolved now, and the issue is isolated to the single server. We’re working to fix it with the ISP, and in any case, new signups at this point wouldn’t be on that server anyway.
Also, we’re not a scam.
speed is good..
Hi again.
Today everything is fine at delimiter, good speed, good response times from techsupport.
Probaly yesterday was a isolated problem on my machine!
I would recommend them :)
I just got access this afternoon to my VM with Delimiter USA. It seems to be quite good. Latency is a little high between Australia and the German server, but speed is pretty good, and is defiantly acceptable for my requirements.
I’ll keep updating here (and on my own blog) as I continue to use this provider.
Hmm. Dann said that Delimiter.us will be permanent in #7. Saw this on WHT today.

Good thing I didn’t buy… They might start changing stuff.
Already Sold ?
has he sold Delimiter.us or ? any other company that he owns ?
Just received the following email:
We are pleased to advise you that Delimiter has today been acquired by Yomura Holdings. I want to put your mind at rest that there is no risk to your services or imminent changes to your products.
Whilst our engineer begin work on Delimiter’s servers, we need to establish any outstanding issues that you may have. Would you contact us at transition@delimiter.us with any issues or tickets that still need attending to.
Customer’s who are awaiting services, our engineers will attend to this Tuesday – we are sorry to keep you waiting. However please make yourselves know to us at transition@delimiter.us
I received the same email as Malcolm.
Having just signed up 2 days ago, I was suitably concerned. However, having read the following thread about a previous aquisition by the same company: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=901172 (read through all three pages of the thread) my fears have been eased a little. We’ll see what happens.
Looks like burstable memory is no longer actually available on my node. It was there until an unexpected shutdown that corrupted a DB table and is now not available. I’m writing these guys off as a waste of time and money.
My vps is down ..also the fluid vm is down ..hopefully it will be up shortly..
@picks It will be up eventually. According to the tickets I’ve seen they are trying to fix the ongoing problems. Personally, I had *zero* problems until the buyout.
I got the details..and its working like charm now..
and vps speeds are also increased..
I think I will wait until they are more stable…. hopefully prices don’t skyrocket
They ditched Fluid VM, from what I’ve heard… That might explain the downtime… switching over or something.
Hi,
yes, several days ago thay changed from fluidVM to new panel. server was down more than 24h.
same problems with delimiter again.since yesterday, absolute no support.
At this moment ping of my VPS is 2000-3000 (usually around 40-50).
Have you tried emailing the transition email they sent out to you? I emailed them and got a response within the hour, which is unusual given my timezone (GMT+1030 Australian Central Daylight Time), usually I have to wait until the next morning.
Hi,
yes i have contacted transition email, once last night, about 23h (CET) once maybe 2 hours ago. There is no reply. it is almost 20h of this crappy connection. ping still around 2500 :)
*Even More Waiting*
Please keep us updated.
My ping is fine, but the VPS is seeming quite sluggish.
still same problem:
Minimum = 797ms, Maximum = 3478ms, Average = 2620ms
and no reply from them:)
@kresko:
They’ve replied promptly to me on all occasions. Spam folder maybe?
Also, just recieved this:
“Hi,
Today we have taken delivery of four new servers in Frankfurt, these will alleviate some of the congestion issues that some of you are experiencing. We are going to be making a drastic number of updates today so we can finally put these issues behind us.
What does this mean? It means today is going to be a very bumpy day, we did not want to have to do it this way, but its near to impossible to do it any other way, the performance problems are hampering our efforts to rebalance the VPS’s across the servers and at the speed things are going this is going to take too long. By doing this we can rebalance the VPS’s today and by tomorrow we can put this saga behind us.
I am sorry for the late notice, I have just finished going over the plan with our engineers and frankly I believe this to be the best option to fix the problems quickly and efficiently.
Regards
Giles”
My VPS is back to normal now. Any luck, kresko?
Hi,
VPS is back to normal since last night. but to much problems and i lost some of users :(
So i have decided i am going to Ded server.
I canceled my service a few weeks back and even had a reply from them on the ticket. Today they charged me for another month of service. Not cool.
I have canceled also my VPs and didnt receive any refund as they dont refund any payment. so be avare
@kresko: Was the refund request for a partial month or did you cancel and they billed you again?
i have asked refund for 1 complete month and other partial ( as VPS is used for 8 days, 5 days with problems).
I have swiched to different company, also at same DC, if you like contact me and i will send you details.
Just received this as a response to my refund request for what they charged me *today*:
“You were a customer of the previous owner of Delimiter. You need to contact them for a refund. We have recommended that customers simply go to their paypal account, locate the transaction and add a dispute noting that there is an agreed refund. The previous owners have been attending to the matter very promptly.”
Delimiter.us or whoever they call themselves now WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY and will not honor cancellation requests. Sign up with them only if you want to be screwed.
@kresko:
can you email me the information to that server? remail (at) lostcoast.org
Paypal request for refund initiated last Friday with no response. I’m not waiting for them to blow me off again so I escalated it to a full Paypal claim. This is a pretty crappy stunt to pull. I hope the new owners realize that refunding the money would have caused a lot less damage to their (already crappy) reputation.
Well… Right now my VPS got suspended and my client area account deleted for no reason at all, with out previous advice and having a few days left before next payment. Thank you for giving me a reason to think Yomura Holdings are very unprofessional. If anyone else knows another VPS provider in Germany, similar to Delimiter, please let me know about them.
Sorry for not reading all of the comments above. Kresko, please let me know about the company you’re talking about, I would be very grateful!
Marc: Honestly, I highly recommend Linode who just added London to their list of DCs. Best service and reliability that I’ve seen so far.
Hi, i dont want to promote any company here, but here it is. I have come accross trex-host.com . Well they were unknown to me but i decided to give it a try. Pretty fast setup, no downtimes or any other problems for now.
Thanks for both of your recommendations, I really appreciate them both. I have read very good reviews about Linode, but I’m afraid it just simply goes over my limited budget :( Same story with trex-host, damn. Are you sure they host in the same DC as Delimiter? I haven’t seen any option to choose Germany from, although I haven’t looked further than the VPS plans. Also… I really regret posting the comment above regarding Yomura Holdings, I have managed to get intouch with several reprentatives and they are trying to assist me at the moment, luckily, response times are very quick!
Hi,
trex-host.com is for sure at same DC,Hetzner, at least my vps is there :)
Well, I have good news. Delimiter’s staff, or Yomura Holdings, have been extremely cooperative and have helped me through every step to get all my services up and running again, and therefore I doubt I will be switching host, yet again, thanks for your recommendations!
As the VPS10 plan has mysteriously vanished this post is no longer accurate (nor suitable for lowendbox.com).
Sam
Ok so it looks like VPS10 became VPS20 and jumped 50% in price while VPS50 jumped 40%.
I believe that’s what happened. Also: Their 50 MB test file, I downloaded it to my server (US-Based) and I got Speeds of 10 MBps +. The problem was, it took about 6 seconds to download, so I couldn’t judge much. But good speeds, nevertheless.
Well I signed up for the VPS 100 plan, was refused because they do not allow torrentflux because it MAY be used for warez downloading, they should really change there advertising, at the moment they say that almost anything is allowed on their servers.
However, after refusing me they promptly refunded my payment so that’s okay…
The “may” you reference was probably them being polite in your request. Per their TOS, it’s covered under points 2 and 3 if not elsewhere. And the advertising your reference says “Anything legal is fine by us” so their wording is fine.
I think his complaint is more that though there are some (albeit less common) legitimate uses for TorrentFlux (i.e. seeding legal torrents), Delimiter disallowed its use anyway because there are many illegitimate and more common uses for it.
In other words, he’s complaining that they didn’t let him use TorrentFlux, even for legal purposes.
Unless he was clearly using it for something illegal, in which case I would of course side with Delimiter.
Unless they got some sort of sale going on that makes VPS20 go below 7$ then this doesn’t belong at LEB anymore :P, I had a feeling that when someone else took it over the prices/plans were going to change.
@Andrew: they do, in a way: http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/delimiter-20-973-month-256mb-openvz-vps/
@InsSel
That’s not valid anymore, Go look at their new plans/pricing nothing there is under 7$ any way you put it, Monthly Quarterly Yearly Etc.
InsDel*
The order links still work. They’re not the same plans as those on the site, and don’t have the ‘unmetered’ bandwidth, but they still fit the price threshold.

Hello everybody
heres my review / experience of Delimiter
Booked a Vps in Atlanta Georgia USA after paypal payment account got instant activated
and the server and connection is just Great no doubt…but Hold theres a catch
when you check the IP(´s) supplied with your server its likely that the ip will not match the geographical location you choosed in my case i got an British(UK) Ip wich only has been routed to The US the IP whas in RIPE instead of ARIN in my case this whas like a supergau because i liked to use the server as a Geo-bridge to prevent geo-blocking and Access Us-only websites however when i order a service in a certain country i expect the ip is from the same country in Fact was the server in atlanta but the ip NOT !!!
wich maked the server useless for me i canceld it right after talking with support they should please supply me with an US_IP for the server but they refused with the reason that this is “normal”
i Forgot to mention that i choosed a VPS Unlimited 100 for 20 US$ /Month because the offer above i had not found
that’s odd :| anyway I think they changed all the packages
I would not recommend this company at all! I signed up for an unlimited bandwidth account and was given on 2TB of transfer. I know this is a lot, but it is certainly not unlimited. Then they refunded my money and banned my IP for placing an order. They apparently really don’t need money. They must be doing quite will with the current customer base that they have.
Can someone send the IP address for the German location/servers. I want to test the latency before I place an order. My pre-sales query has not been answered by them in over 22 hours!
Hi,
I want to buy an vps. My budget is 150usd per year. With my small budget I only find this vps. Can anyone please assist me about their uptime? I really want to know that and their backup system.
Stay away from delimiter. No support at all. i have posted support ticket 3 weeks ago and no reply. Plan included cPanel license, never activated, but charged for.My VPS is dowwn for 48h now, and apsolute no reply from delimiter staff.
i am moving from them, only hope i will get client files…
I signed a server on delimiter.us a few days ago, they took 4 days to deliver the server, I paid a for a cpanel, they handed me the server with a trial cpanel , now my server is offline for 5 days, they not put my server back online and not answer my tickets, did not attend the phone, not answer emails, nothing, delimiter.ur are scams.
I bought a VPS weeks ago. I applied for the Unlimited BW plan. But I saw then only gave me 2TB per month. When I asked them about it they suspend my VPS and told me I miss used the server! I asked for money back but they didn’t! :(
They are SCREAMER! Beware From delimiter.us
I wouldn’t trust them. The owner (or at least Dann Fry himself) stole one of my domains a few years back and sold it for $2000 profit, irreparably damaging the site I was running, and destroying my once thriving traffic. Of course, he will likely deny it.
The server I was hosting was play.mctradecraft.net. A very low-end, low recourse minecraft application for a very small gaming community (of 10-20 people). If this had gone well, we had planned on expanding, but we’re no bigger for the likes of Delimiter.
The day before yesterday, we signed on with them (VPS200 [This is the “advertised” 1.5GB Ram, 100Mbps UNMETERED plan]), and the server was created near-instantly and they gave a very sizeable chunk of memory and bandwidth for the money you spent. But the Achilles heel here is the CPU. If you look over their website they DO NOT advertise that anywhere and with good reason — they only “allow” you to use 200-333Mhz worth of it! They had the CPU’s so wildly throttled back a simple wget of a 10mb file took HOURS on a 100Mibt connection with wget putting the load at over 3.
After everything was uploaded I ran minecraft server for the first time (generally was putting a very small load on my little single core AMD Athlon machine (with 1 gb ram). On startup java consumed 99.9% of the CPU, the load soared over 10 for the most part of 5mins. Thinking that something may have hosed up in the transfer I downloaded the files, and did a test run on a RedHat system at home, it ran fine, never exceeded 1% CPU usage (even on startup) and only used considerable disk usage on startup. At this point I knew something was wrong and contacted their support department.
They made a BUNCH of bogus recommendations:
1) Uninstall Apache (it was disabled lol)
2) Don’t use minecraft 1.8.1 (I tried 1.7 with the same issue)
3) Use the x64 version of CentOS — Ok so I reformatted/installed their image — same issue.
Now during this time I noticed something strange, when I logged into their control panel I saw something most unusual…
“You have 1.0 GB Guaranteed RAM, You have 1.9TB more Bandwidth to use this month” Yet what was advertised for that $20.00 I spent was 1.5G RAM and UNMETERED 100Mbps pipe.
Finally I contacted them again, and told them that I had a RedHat Certified Engineer login to the pc and say “It is impossible to run MineCraft on this VPS” (after their tech had stated in the tickets they had MANY minecraft servers running on concurrent boxes) and suddenly I got a LOT of cancellation emails… They had just shut down the machine, canceled the account, and told me to go fly a kite with a cancellation notice of “Customer dissatisfied with service”.
Now I could complain about the crappy CPU allocations, or I could complain about the time it took for their support department to respond, or I could complain about the packages not lining up with what they were advertising, but what it boils right down to is the shittiest customer service I have ever seen in my entire life — you could expect better customer service from an angry kid selling lemonade next to Wall Street. I have NEVER seen a service based business cancel on a customer simply because they filed a support ticket letting them know that an Employee from REDHAT certified the machine as inop to run MineCraft.
I tried to sign up today. The sign up page was there and took all my information, but when I attempted to go to the payment page it kicked me out noting that if there was an error I could write email to: “review@delimitervps.com” so I did. That email bounced. I guess they are out of business now.
Payment is not going thru on there website. It seems like a scam.
This thread is 2 years old, what do you expect.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
I placed an order with delimiter, paid in full, they didn’t progress the order. I raised a ticket asking for an ETA and they cancelled the order and kept the money. Absolute crooks! This is a scam.
