This is the seventh time UK based DotVPS has been featured here, since they were last featured they have expanded to provide KVM VPS’s in their UK location. Things seemed to have settled down after murphy hit them with multiple RAID controller failures. DotVPS also seems to have started selling dedicated servers from ColoCrossing too, one of which are featured below. We are told that all OpenVZ nodes are now running RHEL6 (.32) vSwap kernel barring Buffalo for the moment. Their nodes consist of E3-1270/E3-1240/E3-1275/E3-1230V2/Dual E5520’s with 32GB+ RAM, 4x2TB 7.2K Disks in a RAID 10 array with 1Gbit ports. General feedback seemed good although there aren’t many reviews, do leave your experiences below for other readers.

DotVPS accept payments via PayPal through 2Checkout and GoCardless for their UK based clientele. Additional IPv4 addresses are $2.50 and IPv6 are free via ticket however only available in the UK.  Setup is instant, TUN/TAP and PPP control and instant rDNS is available via SolusVM. Legal adult content is allowed as well as IRC, private VPN and proxies however Tor is prohibited. As always take a look at their TOS and AUP.

One tiny thing I should mention:

“instant rDNS is available via SolusVM” – this is not true of UK KVM, only able to change via support ticket.

      • I know, due to subnet for KVM being less than a /24, it wasn’t possible.

All OVZ nodes you can set via solus.

    • If you aren’t happy with the service contact us and we can sort something out if its simply “Oh I want a refund” then we aren’t going to honour that but if it’s “I have performance issues, latency issues” or something related to our service being at fault we can sort something out about it.

    • User is just mad he can no longer attack our website, The user was suspended for sending an attack from his VPS, he then contacted us about it saying he didn’t, when we looked into it fair enough the last login was different to all the others so we lifted the suspension after this another attack was launched from his VPS so we terminated him. Ever since this user has been launching attacks against our webserver.

  11. I’m really impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one today.

  13. @Jack, 2Checkout seems rather slow to process payments. At the time I ordered, my VPN was on. I hope that will not be an issue with your verification system.

Hi! I will want to run a private VPN using TAP on an Ubuntu 12.04 server in the UK. I see there is an issue re config of that because SolusVM not available in the UK. But all I need is the TAP devices – I can do all the rest (openvpn, keys etc) myself. Will I see usable TAP devices? Thanks, Paul

Tried DotVPS for 2 months and found the server slow. When I saw the above comment about ddos I guess that’s why it was slow. I search and found this guy Jack has made a lot of enemies, sounds like he is only young and used to be hacker, I’m glad now I moved to other services.

    • Which server did you buy? I am interested in that as I check the hostnodes every few days for load/disk issues…

We haven’t had an attack in months.

I wouldn’t say I have a lot of enemies just as many as other hosts on LE*.

I am probably young to a few other hosts around but I am aware of at least 10 others that are younger.

I used to be a hacker? That’s a funny comment.

You had false awards on your website to encourage sales, you also sold services on hack forums.
I would never buy off you, how could anybody even trust someone who is involved with hacking or showing false awards??

    @Kapsirko
This guy does have a lot of enemies and can not be trusted. Your have to be mad to host your files on any servers under his control. Your wise for looking elsewhere.

Here is what other respected members of LET have to say..

    • I personally didn’t put the awards there and were removed prior to me owning DotVPS, I didn’t I got the threads over at Hackforums removed the day I took over.

I have lots of enemies, please prove this? you seem very angry considering I don’t know you? Hiding under another alias there?

That thread was prior to be becoming owner so please do read and correct your sources, the attack was ‘DotVPS’ but I was using LET on a more personal level there I got the account renamed.

      Cheers mate!

      Jack
