LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

EDIS - $7 1GB 100GB HDD Storage VPS in Austria, Germany, Sweden & Switzerland

William, from EDIS GmbH, has got a brand new exclusive offer for the LEB/LET community. These servers are hosted on the vServer platform (see limitaions below) and you will need to use the coupon code STORAGE2013.

VRS BASIC STORAGE

EDIS GmbH have been featured on LowEndBox many times before. IPv6 is not available on their vServer products. VPN is not possible on vServer as IPTables support is limited and they cannot load extra modules. Their network in Vienna is their own, consisting of ReTN/HE (HE customers and EU exchanges only). Atrato will be added in 2 weeks and VIX/AMSIX during Q4’13. Their network is “optimized to continental Europe as well as Eastern European traffic”. They have been in business since 1999 and regularly poll highly in our top providers polls. Whilst EDIS operate in many different countries, this offer is only available in Austria, Germany, Sweden & Switzerland.

EDIS accept payments via Credit cards or Paypal. If you’re located within the European Union and are not VAT registered, you will have to pay VAT. With the EDIS Manager, you can Reinstall/Reboot/etc and set your own Reverse DNS as well. Vienna and Stockholm are on 1000Mbit uplinks, Zürich and Frankfurt are on 100Mbit uplinks. A list of available operating systems can be seen here. Fore more information, have a read of their Terms of Service.

This offer is located physically in 4 different countries. You can access their looking glass per country by the links below.

Most web server software (e.g. Apache) and all modern browers and systems (e.g. Windows XP SP3 and newer) support Server Name Indication that permits numerous SSL-enabled sites to coexist on a single IP address.

In short, the client (e.g. Firefox) will indicate to the server what SSL site it wishes to connect to and the server will reply with the appropriate certificates and negotiate the connection.

Unless you have a very specific need to support old browsers, you should look into enabling SNI rather than using multiple IP addresses. :)

I have the Sweden KVM micro package that is supposed to be on 1 Gigabit UPLINK. here is the result from ‘ wget –output-document=/dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip‘: ‘486K/s eta 18m 5s’

So, it looks more like a 5 Mbit uplink. Since it’s been less than 30 days, I am thinking of cancelling and trying another location. Unless of course, this is just a bug that can be corrected.

:) because it can suck a lot of resources bandwidth & disk wise ? What if several clients are streaming & using a major portion of the upload tunnel.

I know spikes in traffic which do this are pretty rare but its just that I fear getting suspended without warning..

READ I/O is usually not a major issue, caching and low usage do wonders.

Traffic should be fine in the Gbit locations, not so much in the 100s obviously as it uses likely up a large part of the port.

IPv6 is now available in all Storage and most non-storage VRS locations (and always was for dedicated/colo/KVM) – 1 IPv6 address (a /128) is automatically assigned and bound, more are currently not available. Reverse DNS in planning, no timeline.
Current customers need to reboot once to get it.

    Welcome to the future :)

Note: RC1, use on own risk, Chile and Isle of Man tunneled, don’t forget (old) software may crash after reboot when IPv6 is available on eth0

I’m not even American but I like seeing prices in USD because I always know it’s exchange rate to my local currency. Since the deal suggests USD 7, we expected to see end price in order form in US Dollars. That’s all.

Just a heads up for those who need the service instantly. Discount link for Sweden still works for those wondering.

Then i tried to install zpanel (i never had any problems installing this panel before on many vps providers ) , never managed to do that either ! So maybe the images you use are outdated or customized . I can not use the vps in any way ! :/

Besides, there is VAT above the price, so instead of 7 USD, the monthly price runs up to 10 EUR, which is 13.67 USD, almost double as much. You want customers? Change this NOW!

After making a cancel of a order with some other quite disappointing company with swiss VPS, I tend to be quite impressed by EDIS’ Zürich offer!

Well organized Portfolio and sales team answered a question about my purchase within 20 minutes (!!), and that on Christmas! + there really friendly.

And, the fact that my ISP is also there server housing company (nine.ch) backbone (init7) gives me avg. ping=4 to my vps :D. Just so much better than the one I just got out from (sshVM).

And there io is just aussom:

    user@myhost:~$ dd if=/dev/zero of=~/testfile.zeros bs=1024k count=512
    512+0 records in
    512+0 records out
    536870912 bytes (537 MB) copied, 0.45056 s, 1.2 GB/s
    user@myhost:~$ dd if=testfile.zeros of=/dev/null bs=4096k

    128+0 records out
    536870912 bytes (537 MB) copied, 0.135858 s, 4.0 GB/s

This looks all super to me. I don’t feel sorry for switching at all!
