William, from EDIS GmbH, has got a brand new exclusive offer for the LEB/LET community. These servers are hosted on the vServer platform (see limitaions below) and you will need to use the coupon code STORAGE2013.
- 1024MB RAM
- 2 vCPU Cores
- 100GB Diskspace
- 4000GB Bandwidth
- 1 IPv4 Address
- Linux vServer/EDIS Manager
- $7/Month | Vienna, Austria

- $7/Month | Stockholm, Sweden
- $7/Month | Zurich, Switzerland
EDIS GmbH have been featured on LowEndBox many times before. IPv6 is not available on their vServer products. VPN is not possible on vServer as IPTables support is limited and they cannot load extra modules. Their network in Vienna is their own, consisting of ReTN/HE (HE customers and EU exchanges only). Atrato will be added in 2 weeks and VIX/AMSIX during Q4’13. Their network is “optimized to continental Europe as well as Eastern European traffic”. They have been in business since 1999 and regularly poll highly in our top providers polls. Whilst EDIS operate in many different countries, this offer is only available in Austria, Germany, Sweden & Switzerland.
EDIS accept payments via Credit cards or Paypal. If you’re located within the European Union and are not VAT registered, you will have to pay VAT. With the EDIS Manager, you can Reinstall/Reboot/etc and set your own Reverse DNS as well. Vienna and Stockholm are on 1000Mbit uplinks, Zürich and Frankfurt are on 100Mbit uplinks. A list of available operating systems can be seen here. Fore more information, have a read of their Terms of Service.

Grabbed one in Sweden! ‘Been waiting a too long time on something like this.
What is the data center used in Sweden for this offer? Thanks.
Portlane – initially Pionen, a couple of months ago they moved all the equipment to their own DC.
Portlane belongs to EDIS?
No.
EDIS starts sell unused space for storage :)
down for maintenance?
There is a WHMCS exploit for which we (and others) await a fix currently.
How much does it cost to get an extra ip ?
Any discounts for 5 ips, i need them for ssl :(
We only offer up to 3, 2,5EUR each.
Most web server software (e.g. Apache) and all modern browers and systems (e.g. Windows XP SP3 and newer) support Server Name Indication that permits numerous SSL-enabled sites to coexist on a single IP address.
In short, the client (e.g. Firefox) will indicate to the server what SSL site it wishes to connect to and the server will reply with the appropriate certificates and negotiate the connection.
Unless you have a very specific need to support old browsers, you should look into enabling SNI rather than using multiple IP addresses. :)
I have the Sweden KVM micro package that is supposed to be on 1 Gigabit UPLINK. here is the result from ‘ wget –output-document=/dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip‘: ‘486K/s eta 18m 5s’
So, it looks more like a 5 Mbit uplink. Since it’s been less than 30 days, I am thinking of cancelling and trying another location. Unless of course, this is just a bug that can be corrected.
huh? Yes, because that speedtest is in the US(!?!)
The Leaseweb AMS mirror gives me easily 50MB/s in Sweden and this certainly shows that it *IS* Gbit – We can’t control how Softlayer routes their traffic and how Tier1s oversell trans atlantic MPLS.
Thanks for the response. Could you please provide a file >= 100MB for testing?
Never mind.
wget –output-document=/dev/null http://se.edis.at/100MB.test : 33.8M/s
wget –output-document=/dev/null http://de.edis.at/100MB.test : 2.12M/s
wget –output-document=/dev/null http://at.edis.at/100MB.test : 1.16M/s
wget –output-document=/dev/null http://ch.edis.at/100MB.test : 1.42M/s
wget –output-document=/dev/null http://us.edis.at/100MB.test : 400K/s
After some tweaking, got much improved speed and it was only fair the results be posted compared to the previous.
wget -O /dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip: 27.9M/s
wget -O /dev/null http://se.edis.at/100MB.test : 80.4M/s
wget -O /dev/null http://de.edis.at/100MB.test : 4.38M/s
wget -O /dev/null http://at.edis.at/100MB.test : 3.27M/s
wget -O /dev/null http://ch.edis.at/100MB.test : 10.3M/s
wget -O /dev/null http://us.edis.at/100MB.test : 3.62M/s
wget -O /dev/null http://mirror.leaseweb.com/speedtest/1000mb.bin :52.4M/s
Allow torrent/file-sharing, sounds pretty good to me for a light use seedbox… :D
Check http://mirror.leaseweb.com/speedtest/1000mb.bin
Thanks, that gives 1.57M/s. I wonder if the Netherlands get better routing to the U.S.
Interested in these packages, but unfortunately I am unable to purchase anything due to the service being down. Is there an ETA on it coming back up?
unfortunately only after WHMCS as the software producer will release a fix.
cheers, Gerhard @EDIS
They did a couple of hours ago. Check WHMCS blog.
We know, but we need to first update all our instances and do some testing prior to re-enabling the software.
We need to make sure that the vulnerability has really been fixed.
EDIS and Waveride WHMCS will be back online in the next couple of hours, latest by 10:00 am CEST.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this, but better safe than sorry …
Cheers,
Gerhard
An extra gb of ram will cost $?
Sorry, not offered.
You could potentially go for VRS PREMIUM STORAGE (2 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, 10TB traffic /month)
A list of available products you’ll find here https://manage.edis.at/whmcs/cart.php?gid=16
Gerhard
The Waveride WHMCS has been fixed tonight already, i’m still working on the EDIS one as the changes need to be verified against our own code base and modifications.
WHMCS vulnerability patch update:

All EDIS and Waveride WHMCS instances have successfully been updated

Is legitimate Video sharing allowed ?
Why are you asking if you are referring to a legal application?
;-) Gerhard
:) because it can suck a lot of resources bandwidth & disk wise ? What if several clients are streaming & using a major portion of the upload tunnel.
I know spikes in traffic which do this are pretty rare but its just that I fear getting suspended without warning..
READ I/O is usually not a major issue, caching and low usage do wonders.
Traffic should be fine in the Gbit locations, not so much in the 100s obviously as it uses likely up a large part of the port.
@William/@ExPl0ReR: The description here says no to IPv6 on EDIS’ vServer products. I just ordered one in ZRH and was surprised to see an IPv6 address in 2a02:418:6a04::/48 (EDIS-CH-IPV6). It’s even reachable from the outside. Is this a hidden feature and can we depend on it already?
You can use it but it is not recommended to rely on it (yet).
Thank you, EDIS.
When i suddenly needed some more HDD space [400-500Mb] on my basic KVM-rate: ‘KVM-micro’ – they are easily added 1Gb.
That’s so wonderful ^___^
Is the offer still valid? I’m being quoted 7 euro + fees. Wtf?
Just added another 50 plans available for USD 7.–
You need to be quick … ;-)
Also being quoted 7.99euro (~$11.) Offer is already gone? Promo code has no effect
Just added another 50 plans available for USD 7.–
You need to be quick … ;-)
same here
works now … 45 plans left
IPv6 is now available in all Storage and most non-storage VRS locations (and always was for dedicated/colo/KVM) – 1 IPv6 address (a /128) is automatically assigned and bound, more are currently not available. Reverse DNS in planning, no timeline.
Current customers need to reboot once to get it.
Welcome to the future :)
Note: RC1, use on own risk, Chile and Isle of Man tunneled, don’t forget (old) software may crash after reboot when IPv6 is available on eth0
It seems good.Maybe try later:)
Can not play by US dollar?
Can not pay by US dollar?
This offer is currently 7.99EUR and not 7USD…
because the offer expired.
We added another 50 plans, so be quick ;-)
cheers,
Gerhard
Hello Gerhard,
The offer now works but we get 5.11 Euros not including VAT, but cannot choose to pay in US Dollars. I’m not even American but I like seeing prices in USD because I always know it’s exchange rate to my local currency. Since the deal suggests USD 7, we expected to see end price in order form in US Dollars. That’s all.
Thanks for the restock.
We’re a European company, that’s why we indicate our prices in Euro ;-)
The price indicated (EUR 5.11 ) is somewhat below USD 7.00
Please check a currency conversion website for further reference – thank you!

Gerhard
Hello, why did this expire this early? I was going to get one right now but it’s EUR 7,99 now! I’ve been waiting for an EDIS deal since forever. EDIS should continue this deal, I don’t believe quotas can be full! At least not for all locations!
Hi! it was not about quotas .. the amount of plans to be sold was reached.
Don’t worry, … we just added another 50 plans, but they go fast so you better be quick ;-)
Cheers,
Gerhard
MM… Still doesn’t work.. any ideas? thank you
The offer is on – definitely works – orders are rolling in …
Please give it another try.
Gerhard
do you allowed warez link at zurich or sweden
meybe got some complain will be forward to client for removed the content
No, we don’t.
can i run torrent service?
its 7euro and why do these guys add 2$ more into the bill
If you are in the EU you have to pay 20% VAT, it is automatically added at checkout.
Guys, noticed:do not put many torrents in the VPS,it will get ours service suspended.
FAke people virtualmin did not work on these server and i have told them they did not refund my money.
shame shame.
Virtualmin works fine on KVM; VServer/OpenVZ both have issues with it, others sometimes work (Openpanel as example).
Why is the cost 9.57 euro in checkout when looking to buy a VPS?
https://www.google.ie/search?q=7+usd+to+euro&oq=7+usd+to+euro&aqs=chrome..69i57j0.3750j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8
Where’s my VPS? I have already pay the invoice.
Thank you very much, VPS is ready
Not instant activation. Not sure if read it wrong somewhere, but i was certain that i saw a “Instant activation” before paying. In the confirmation mail of the payment i found “Please not that if this is your first order the activation can take up to 48 hours” which sucks. My own fault anyway for not reading closely. Just a heads up for those who need the service instantly. Discount link for Sweden still works for those wondering.
OBS! You (Eids) got a misspelling in your mail saying “Please not that”. I guess it should be “Please note that”. :)
Oh, pretty instant it seems like. Half an hour to 40 minutes and I now got the IP and password needed to manage my server. Please look away from my comment. But there is still a typo in the mail FYI ;)
My service is shown active
But at detail page I can only see the login name and password.
Where can I use it ? I have tried to use it at https://manage.edis.at/vhost/
But it didn’t work….
Try https://manage.edis.at/vps/ instead. Isn’t this a vps offer? Or vhost as well?
is there any backup solution for the vps ? with extra charge of course !
I got one on Zurich, Switzerland , best transfer i ever experienced. First thing i tried was to install kloxo panel , i couldn’t do it in any of the images available . Then i tried to install zpanel (i never had any problems installing this panel before on many vps providers ) , never managed to do that either ! So maybe the images you use are outdated or customized . I can not use the vps in any way ! :/
No, Kloxo simply does not work at all on Linux-Vserver.
I had the exact same experience.. I had to cancel it sadly. Loved the offer and transfer, but images was useless. I tried both ubuntu in x64 and centos x64 to no avail..
Really sad to see after finding such a great box. I think they are modified / stripped down. I had to add all the repos myself in the ubuntu lte x64.
They are obviously Linux-VServer images – Guys, this is a VRS offer compareable to OpenVZ, not KVM. Entirely different technology.
Nop , i can install kloxo or zpanel to an OpenVZ vps ! This is entirely different than a OpenVZ system !
The images are customized , and on most of theme as root you have no permission to start any service.
Best performance but useless images (setup)!
Is this offer gone for good now?
can you give me a good hosting spec for cabal private server where 200 people wont lag??
Hi, is there any swap at all or is 1024 MB all there is?
Also, how well does OpenVPN (tun) server/client play with vServer on these servers?
Just signed up for a trial for a DE Frankfurt server:
wget -O/dev/null http://de.edis.at/100MB.test … 4.96 MB/s <— ???
wget -O/dev/null http://se.edis.at/100MB.test … 4.74 MB/s
wget -O/dev/null http://ch.edis.at/100MB.test … 8.97 MB/s
wget -O/dev/null http://fr.edis.at/100MB.test … 4.01 MB/s
wget -O/dev/null http://uk.edis.at/100MB.test … 6.64 MB/s
wget -O/dev/null http://nl.edis.at/100MB.test … 6.64 MB/s
wget -O/dev/null http://us.edis.at/100MB.test … 1.91 MB/s
wget -O/dev/null http://at.edis.at/100MB.test … 5.69 MB/s
wget -O/dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip … 1.86 MB/s
Downlinks seem 100 Mbps. Even so, I'm on the DE datacenter and pulling from DE (advertised as the same datacenter) gets only 4.96 MB/s? Doesn't look as if the two are in the same datacenter … what gives?
How come price is announced as 7 USD and the price on the website is 7 EUR? There is large difference between 1 USD and 1 EUR! Besides, there is VAT above the price, so instead of 7 USD, the monthly price runs up to 10 EUR, which is 13.67 USD, almost double as much. You want customers? Change this NOW!
To William: Tell me, please, are you have any cancelation policy? Can I have any moneyback period to test service?
Thank you!
After making a cancel of a order with some other quite disappointing company with swiss VPS, I tend to be quite impressed by EDIS’ Zürich offer!
Well organized Portfolio and sales team answered a question about my purchase within 20 minutes (!!), and that on Christmas! + there really friendly.
And, the fact that my ISP is also there server housing company (nine.ch) backbone (init7) gives me avg. ping=4 to my vps :D. Just so much better than the one I just got out from (sshVM).
And there io is just aussom:
user@myhost:~$ dd if=/dev/zero of=~/testfile.zeros bs=1024k count=512
512+0 records in
512+0 records out
536870912 bytes (537 MB) copied, 0.45056 s, 1.2 GB/s
user@myhost:~$ dd if=testfile.zeros of=/dev/null bs=4096k
128+0 records in
128+0 records out
536870912 bytes (537 MB) copied, 0.135858 s, 4.0 GB/s
This looks all super to me. I don’t feel sorry for switching at all!
Very friendly and fast staff, greater speed, way lower pings. What can I say?
Do you allow warez and adult in any of your servers?
I’m somehow interested.
Can I avail any of the deal ?
Waiting.
Is there any chance this offer will be renewed?
I can see I was a bit late out.
Well this provider is dead. They don’t respond to my tickets about awful network performance in their London location. However, I must say they were great for a while but these past few months have been brutal.

Thanks for sharing such an informative blog post and it will help people who are looking for best and cheapest vps hosting in Sweden,Germany and Switzerland.
Is a good host ~ Cheap~
Edis, terrible when receive dmca, better use iniz
The offer with the use of HDD for 7/month is expensive in the European market.
This service provider does provide the guaranteed TCP speed. No speed means no guaranteed connection.
EDIS Services are 100% SSD
this is quite an old posting here … check out https://www.edisglobal.com for more
They all provide 100Mbts per port max or no guaranteed speed.
100Mbts per port means you can reach theweb site via wifi-phone in 5 seconds.
Too slow
This is not correct. Our host nodes are connected with at least 2x 1Gbps or 2x 10Gbps
This is a historic posting from 2017 ;-)
