EDIS, have been featured on here as a VPS Provider many times before and we even reviewed one of their services. They came fifth in our recent Top Providers Q3 poll and continue to receive good feedback from their clients. Normal price for this server is €49/Month, so with this promotion you’re saving €20. If you’re located within the European Union and are not VAT registered, you will have to pay VAT. William has said stock is limited, so if you’re interested you may want to make your mind up quick to avoid disappointment.

Servers are powered with energy produced from 100% local hydropower. Debian 6, most recent Ubuntu or Ubuntu LTS, centOs or freeBSD are available. A KVM switch is available for up to 2 days, free of charge (if you would like to setup yourself). All Atom’s are connected to a Gigabit uplink and they offer free internal connections (and bandwidth) between multiple machines in their network. You can read their full terms and conditions here.

Interesting … server based on Atom (which let’s face is – its a processor used for Netbooks because it simply can’t handle much) and with a 2.5” HDD. So what you are offering is basically a Netbook, not really a server

It’s mini ITX, not a Netbook.

Atoms are very commonly used in the industry for low-end dedicated server offers.
2.5″ HDDs are also often used for servers where you need to fit as many as possible into a 1U server case.

Is the 2gb ram a limitation of the Atom processor? 4gb dimms are pretty cheap these days. Similarly 640gb or even 1tb laptop drives. I’d think this box could be built more capaciously without increasing costs too much. There’s an AMD E-350(?) processor available on mini-itx boards that has comparable power consumption to the Atom and lower cost (it may be a little slower) and it can handle 8gb or maybe 16gb of ram. That would enable a number of interesting applications that don’t work nearly as well with 2gb.

      Yes, it does support 4Gb (2×2) but not 8Gb (2×8)… :(

Hm, i had a vrs vps from them yesterday. A basic one to test their reliability. Despite the vrs server seems very fast in every aspect, I almost regret already, because there was no “customisable firewall webinterface” as they state in their website, and no help with their custom vrs_iptables so far, just a short typical reply like “we changed that because x amount of customers asked”. Mailed them again, still waiting…

So I would not risk a deticated server with them, where physical human support is more critical. Unless low price is no1 priority for you.

So? Iptables is very basic, how do you expect to work with Linux and keep a server secure when you do rely on a webinterface for a simple tool already?

      • Nick Sotiropoulos:

If it is simple tool, this has nothing to do with me. You are the pro. I just wanted what was stated in your website. A simple F.A.Q or wiki section, or at least an English user manual, would help avoiding such missanderstandings.
I thought web-interface firewall would be some extra protection “outside” vps.
It seems you do not want me for customer, otherwise you would have replied in my 2nd mail asking for help with your custom firewall, rather than posting here. So I will cancel my subscription and hope you refund.

Must say, finally, they replied with a very polite and helpfull email. It seems there was a problem with their wrapper, and vrs_iptables was not working, that’s why me trying half a day make it work…fixed now.

I will accept their apologies and hope i missjudged them initially and stay with them long time.
