Today is National Comic Book Day. In the US, the Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck (1837) is acknowledged as the first comic book, though there is a competing claim from Scotland’s Glasgow Looking Glass (1825). I’m not an expert, but the Glasgow Looking Glass seems more of a single-panel form, while Obadiah Oldbuck is genuine sequential art, but we’ll leave it to academics to debate.
Meanwhile, why not have some fun with LowEndLOLs, the only comic strip devoted to the hosting industry? In fact, to celebrate today we’ve created an NFT for our new comic:
And we have lots more comics!
