Seems like they are having all manner of network trouble right now. I ordered a VPS, even though the speed test link is still failing for me.

VPS was deployed instantly but SSH will only intermittently connect and never actually logs in. Just hangs.

Edit: Just now got in after a long wait. Connection is very sluggish.

      • Was a DDOS we just locked down. If you’re still having an issue open a ticket.

testden will be fixed shortly it’s an issue on cloudflare’s end.

Here is a quick benchmark for those interested. Good US network speeds. Also worth noting that my disk i/o has been all over the map, from as low as 45MB/sec to 199mb/s, presumably due to a lot of provisioning going on.

You don’t need to trust this company at all, as they will judge you as fraud once you use the promo code.

    • FRCorey:

Nobody judges anyone, we use globally respected fraud detection systems. Occasionally in certain countries it flags people because your ISP may list your IP as belonging in Jakarta and you live a thousand miles away it causes a flagging. We clearly state in our fraud emails that if you feel there’s an error to please open a support ticket. Most of the time we unflag the order.

I have been a satisfied customer since their last LEB offer. Support has been excellent. A few months ago the datacenter they used had some type of rare but disastrous power failure that took out their RAID cards, and I was super impressed with Front Range Hosting’s openness, honesty, and frequent public updates as they managed the crisis and restored service to their customers. It was a huge mess and not their fault, and I know of few companies who would have handled it as well as they did.

Just open a ticket, a lot of people get marked for fraud from Malyasia and Indonesia because your ISP’s geoip data is way off. Makes it look like you ordered from a thousand miles away.

Same goes for anyone in Asia who orders with a US address and a Chinese IP..

If you open a ticket we look into it and most times can accept the transaction.

There appears to be a nice vocal majority here that are flagged in Maxmind as sources of fraudulent transactions. I’m not going to go against Maxmind when it says that. If Ramnode accepted your details they could be using fraudlogix or some other system where you were not flagged yet. It’s nothing personal.

I think they don’t really care about your $1, if the price was higher, they would not be so ‘lazy’, but well, this is life, I was also in such a ‘remote’ country before (Eastern Europe), and I know from my experiences how problems like this can occur some times.

About your IP, well, it needs to be ‘located in Malaysia’ in the maxmind database, because I think that’s where they check.

I asked for an os image to be added and I think it was added less than an hour later. I would recommend frontrange in a heartbeat. Can’t beat the support, prices, and quality of service.
