LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Well,What’s the differences between ThrustVPS and GigeVPS?
Nothing, both companies are being run by the same parent company.
GigeVPS, whoever, does specialize in lowend UK boxes which is not that common though (in my

* in my opinion
bought yesterday and submited the ticket but did not receive anything >.<
Not having the best of experience with them. Signed up over a month ago. When the monthly renewal notice came in the email paid using Google checkout only for the account to be suspended a day later. Emailed them and got the reply saying that they have an error with Google checkout.
That was a week ago. Today tried logging in and and my username does not exist.
All data gone and no access to server… hope I can get a refund.
Yep, they (only Rus I guess) do not answer tickets for last 2-3 days.
And I sometimes feel like support (Rus) is not really reading them, I get answers to different question than asked. Totally ignored.
Gonna leave them and I would suggest that do NOT buy anything from them*

Been with them for the past 10 days.
Support replyed within decent time.
Server has been very stable, no high I/O or cpu peaks.

I ordered a VPS and everything seemed to go smoothly except one MAJOR flaw.
I installed (insert software here) and guess what?
It ran just fine for the first day.
Every day I get monitoring emails that the server goes offline and is unreachable.
I check and its there, but root pass isn’t mine. Reinstall via CP is the only way to get back in.
Changing root pass via CP does nothing.
So daily at 10am CST my VPS gets wiped.
Support has yet to reply. :(
Apparently, somehow… the network connection via/thru the container host is somehow being disrupted. I was able to gain access via Solus, and checked everything. Nothing was out of line. After pulling my hair out for a while, Shutdown/Boot via the CP. Console reboot didn’t do it. After a container reboot, connectivity was back. Very strange, but now we’ll see if they can find out why from their end.
FYI, I’ve only had this one for a few days. My others for a while. So at least I’m not heavily dependent on it yet. But it has me shopping US West hosts again.
Gone :) In a way – domain redirects to ThrustVPS now.
Indeed. Folding of a brand.
