Green River Web Hosts - $6.50 256MB OpenVZ VPS in Chicago

Green River Web Hosts Chris, CEO of Green River Web Hosts, emailed me their LowEndBox special code to bring their “VPS1 Beginner” VPS plan from $8 to $6.50/month. Promo code is lowendboxrocks, and you can sign up this plan here.

  • 256MB memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 500GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Servers with DFT in Chicago IL. Green River has been in operation since late 2009 (had their 1 year old birthday post last October), although they have only launched VPS services earlier this month. WHOIS privacy on both grwh.net and greenriverwebhosts.com, and NS on adjacent IP addresses with no redundancy. Anyway, our CEO here appears to be this 16 years old individual in US so there might be some legal/commitment implications.

  3. I’m actually 19. I have been handling my business rather well and am in college for computer engineering. Do not let my youth be a down set to my products. I put just as much, if not more, effort into my services as my competitors. I stand behind my products and I have a team of support staff who help me ensure the product you receive is 100% reliable.

  4. Also that YouTube account is in no way affiliated with Green River Web Hosts. I did not make this video nor do I run the server. The owner of the server uses a vps from another host to host the server and buys web hosting from me. The server is not hosted at Green River Web Hosts.

  6. I actually found the template for free and liked the capabilities. It’s easy for my clients to use and looks great. Therefore I don’t mind if a few other hosts use it. That’s the risk in using a free template. Especially one this nice.

    • Not sure if you should have admitted that here – Some users will frown upon you for using a free template.

      • Well then let them frown. As a small company I prefer to spend my money ensuring that my clients servers are running good and that there aren’t any problems. If there is a way to do something nice and free, let it happen. If someone really decides whether or not to but a server based upon whether a template is free or not, then they are missing out. The time and money I could have put into a template was instead put into insuring my clients were happy and stable.

  8. Whats links are you speaking of 96mb?

    • I guess you have already noticed the issue when you sent out this comment, for some magic reasons all links in the comments on your name was pointing to http://greenriverwebhosts/ and all the comments after this one (including this one), is pointing to http://grwh.net/.

It is nice to correct mistakes, but asking questions like “Whats links are you speaking of” when you know what links I am referring to is not going to make you look any better :)

  9. Actually I had no idea until I created the comment. I assumed you were talking of a link I had referenced. I apologize for the misunderstanding. Oddly I never changed it from http://grwh.net to http://greenriverwebhosts/. It must of automatically changed in one of my posts. But all is well now and thanks for notifying me.

  11. Wow at least we used our logo and spent several hours integrating it with WHMCS and customizing it. The literally changed nothing except their name.
