HostSailor is a company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, who have their own infrastructure located in the Databarn DC in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. They are a Microsoft Partner, RIPE member, and LACNIC member. Alexander proudly told us that they own their equipments and IP space. This is always a good news because it is a sign that the company is committed to their business for the long run.

The host nodes have Intel E3-1240 CPU, 32GB RAM and 4x 2TB SATA drives in RAID10 configuration. All host servers are connected with a 1Gbps uplink. But according to Alexander, they’re working to upgrade all those uplinks to 10Gbps. They are also improving their backbones by getting upgrades from 2x 10Gbps to 4x 10Gbps, so there should be plenty of room for traffic. All incoming traffic is unmetered and free of charge. Good news for IPv6 fans, these offers includes as much IPv6 address as you need (but within reason).

HostSailor has been posting offers at LowEndTalk since last May 2014 and there seems to be no negative comments so far. For the customers who tried their service, kindly share your experiences with us in the comments or at LowEndTalk.com!

Available payment methods only includes PayPal, Credit Card, Bank Transfer, CashU, PaySafeCard, Skrill, WebMoney, Bitcoin, Western Union / Moneygram, and Perfect Money. All servers support TUN, TAP, and PPTP by default, include backups, and offer “flexible upgrading/easy scalability”. As with any provier, please read the Terms of Service before placing an order!

Is legal adult content allowed? Because you say, that everything is allowed, that follows Dubai law and I can’t find anything general in your AUP against adult content. BUT i know that there are blocks and filters in place to prevent people in UAE to watch adult stuff. So can I host my legal porn stuff with you?

    Cheers

    March 9, 2015 @ 5:27 pm | Reply
    • There is no legal pornography there, so forget it.

      March 9, 2015 @ 5:59 pm | Reply
    • Thank you for your query, we do accept all content as long as its not child porn, the servers are in the Netherlands so the content hosted on the servers are subject to NL laws.

      March 9, 2015 @ 7:21 pm | Reply
      • So you actually don’t care about the laws of the country you are based on? Honest question.

        March 9, 2015 @ 10:15 pm | Reply
        • Its rather complicated to explain, but again the content is on servers in Netherlands which are not subject to UAE law, however both laws are common on child porn and other similar content, your content is subject to the laws where the servers are located not where the company placing your services is located, so in a nutshell yes you’re safe with porn on our NL servers.

          • I can’t agree with you. The Company must conply with the Law of that specific country where it is registered. Otherwisez it may cause huge damage if a complain goes to the Legal Court. They hold the authority to take your Business Locense, isn’t it ?? In Bangladesh, it’s like this.

  4. Hi,

Their Support is very friendly. However, they have a communication Gap between the Management Team and the Technical Team, so it makes problem when dealing with Technical terms/problems.

They had some problems in their Xen-02 Node which they never confessed. They used to tell Me that the Problem was from My Side. I respect their valuable comments on My Usage of A Linux Box. But, the thing is they are not the Only Company in Operation for VPS Hosting. I have dealt with other companies with the same setup where I had no Problems at all. Later on, I moved to Dedi with Hetzner.

They use Dual Xeon E5520 as far I know. The Main Problem is their HDD. The Disk I/O sometimes acceptable, sometimes too much horrible (like 37.2 Mbps). It increases server Load often.

Later on, they upgraded their Node, one Ran Stick was faulty, replaced it, after that My Box had no issues. So, definitely, it was their problem but they didn’t accept their fault. This is the only thing that hurt Me.

    Thanks,
    Mahfuz.

    • Thank you for giving a thumbs up for our friendly support, I have just pulled out your details on our system, and our last ticket with you was with our management team, your VPS was causing major cpu and I/O load on the main server which has resulted in a couple of downtime on your VPS and the main server besides that we also shut your VM down and sent you emails without suspending you to take action as a gesture of good will, upon discussing this with you and asking you to move to a dedicated resources the server has had great stability, please do not mix the RAM fault issue with the server that has happened way after you stopped your high resources usage on your VPS, I have checked the tickets, and also the alerts, as much as I appreciate your nice comment at the beginning of your thread as much as I would like to point out that you’re mixing up an issue that happened a week or more after your resources hogging case.

Seeing you managed to get a dedicated elsewhere to resolve the issue makes it clear that a VPS was just not for your needs and a change was needed, we also discussed with you the upgrade which you have ignored and didn’t want to proceed with, if for any reason you’d like to be part of our team again, we will be happy to offer you some aggressive dedicated deals.

      • Thanks, Alexander. I’m not giving anyone blame. Circumstances were beyond control. I pulled the Ram issue because it also caused the users more than 2 hours of downtime. However, you people tried your best to solve the issue with Me. I appreciate this. But, the Server has too old Configuration which you offered to Me, so I looked other places. Wish for your Great Success in this Line :-)

        Thanks,
        Mahfuz.

        • That is fine, things do happen and we act very fast towards any downtime no matter what type of downtime it is, we have very great uptimes with our servers usually 100% however things can go out of control, acting to a hardware fault may yes take an hour or two, which is rare anyway, we only had one ram problem within a whole year which is very clear that we have quality hardware. Again if you ever change your mind, you may check our normal enterprise offers which we have reduced much on our main dedicated page and contact us to negotiate the pricing since you were a client of ours.

  5. do u totally ignore dmca?

    March 10, 2015 @ 4:07 am | Reply
    • To be honest no, because Netherlands is not easy with copyright and DMCA anymore due to law changes, but we do forward them to you and give you enough time to deal with it, especially if it was sent from a lawyer or an important organization, you just have to remove the file/link in question.

Default panel SolosVM? Through SolusVM I can enable TAP/TUN for Openvpn?

    March 10, 2015 @ 7:30 am | Reply
    • Yes we use solusvm, and TAP/TUN is a click of a button via the panel, ofcourse if the provider enables the right modules on the main server, which we do already.

I bought a KVM vps with the previous offer, they’re very fast and support is also kind and very responsive, I had an issue on sunday and I got a prompt answer, everything was set up very quickly.
Anyway I don’t use my box very extensively so cannot say about CPU/disk.

    March 10, 2015 @ 8:02 am | Reply
    • Thank you for putting effort into writing about your experience with us, greatly appreciated, we indeed have no issues with users in regards to cpu or I/O but sometimes there will be a vm or two causing issues either its a one off thing or a longterm thing, we will always advise on which platform to move to if the current usage isn’t suitable on a OpenVZ for example.

  8. Are you now using E3-1240 ?? What happened to the E Series Processors ??

    March 10, 2015 @ 6:48 pm | Reply
    • Please note that we use different models for each platform/virtualization, for example E3-1240 for OpenVZ which is posted in this thread.

    • If our OpenVZ goes well as planned, we would most probably give XEN and KVM a shot as well, get intouch with us we may work something out, nothing is impossible!

Just signed up for a KVM plan and definitely rocks! I like the fact that you own your infrastructure, it tells me you’re here to stay which is great for a long-term KVM vps for monitoring.

Thanks for providing me an excellent sales response as well. I’m glad to be aboard! :-)

I ordered 128 OVZ this evening and had it up and running with Debian 7 within a few minutes. $10/year is a very nice price point for a VPS with a dedicated IPv4 address. Happy as a clam here :)

    • As mentioned under another thread, we block direct mailing to protect our network/you from spam, our mail relay service is functioning correctly across our VPS segment, and if you are not going to send any spam, not that I am saying you will just mentioning, then you do not have to worry about sending it via a spamfilter relay server, that being said we do not block it on our dedicated servers. Delayed mail can happen when you are sending hundreds/thousands of emails at once.

The best thing about HostSailor is that they have options. We found the exact package we were looking for. Our plan is hosted on Romania servers; even got free DDoS protection. Highly recommend them!
