LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

HTTP Zoom - 64MB OpenVZ & 128MB OpenVZ from £2/Quarter in Maidenhead, UK

James, from HTTPZoom, has recently sent us two really LowEnd offers. I would love to see (in the comments) what you achieve or plan to do with these servers!

OVM – 64B

  • 64MB Dedicated Ram
  • 128MB Burstable Ram
  • Fair Share CPU
  • 5GB Diskspace
  • 200GB Bandwidth
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • 5 IPv6 Addresses
  • £2/Quarter, £4/Half Year or £8/Year
  • Direct SignUp
OVM – 128B

  • 128MB Dedicated Ram
  • 256MB Burstable Ram
  • Fair Share CPU
  • 5GB Diskspace
  • 500GB Bandwidth
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • 5 IPv6 Addresses
  • £4/Quarter, £7.5/Half Year or £12/Year
  • Direct SignUp

It appears HTTP Zoom is registered under James’s sole trader status in the UK. This offer is exclusive to the LowEndNetwork (it has already been posted on LowEndTalk). Whilst HTTP Zoom were only launched in 2012, their parent company (HTTP Simple) has been in business since 2007. Apart from these benchmarks in June 2012, I couldn’t really find any HTTP Zoom reviews. It would be great if any current clients should share their experience and post a few benchmarks below in the comments. You’d be surprised at what you can achieve with these low specifications. On a 128MB VPS I have, I’m using 55MB to run a few WordPress sites.

Virtual servers are connected at 100mb/s. Each new sign up is provided with 5 free IPV6 IPs on request – so you may need to put a ticket in after you’ve purchased. They accept payments via Paypal, GoogleCheckout and Direct Debit. HTTP Zoom have a 30 day refund policy, unless abuse has occurred. You may want to read their Terms of Service before signing up.

Network Information:

Servers are located in MaidenHead, UK at the Rapidswitch datacentre.

I’ve had a 64mb box from them for about 6 months and it’s performed brilliantly as a VPN endpoint. Can’t fault it at all – especially at these prices!

  3. HTTP Zoom have provided an absolutely outstanding service to me for no cost!

My sponsored VPS from them is used to develop and test w3nexus. I haven’t had any noticeable downtime at all with them and VPS speeds are consistently amazing.

I do miss their XEN hardware though.

    • OMG, you are the developer of PHProxy too? :D

I will be watching your new project, seems to be working great :P

      • I’m not a developer of the original PHProxy. But w3Nexus is designed as a continuation of the project.

It shouldn’t be working great at the moment, I’m in the middle of restructuring the script ;)

Thanks for the interest though, I hope to have the reworked version out soon.

If it had much more or even unmetered bandwidth I would take one without thinking. But not with a hard shutdown when I reach the limit.

Excellent provider, their services ‘just work’, and there’s virtually no downtime (just a couple of scheduled outages). Not sure why these guys don’t get more recognition round these parts.

  12. I got one of the 64B about 1 week ago, it’s now running few simple PHP sites with no MySQL(that is, only nginx + php-fpm), absolutely no problem, it performs very well.

I’ve had one for about 8 months for openvpn-uk-geoblocked-content-use. Very stable and top network, both for myself and friends in the us. Recommended.

“This offer is exclusive to the LowEndNetwork”
    Are you sure about that?
These are the normal offers and prices showing on their homepage.

    • Hey Khaloosh,

The offer is 5 free IPV6.

I know it isn’t much but our prices are pretty low anyway!

We had a VPS from you – and your support was atrocious. Just because it went down and we asked for it be be rectified you said that support was not part of our plan and you refused to do anything about it, unless we paid an hourly rate for it to be resolved.

You, yourself – just a matter of a few weeks ago – critisized this website, Lowendbox, saying if people buy via LEB they would get nothing but poor service from the companies advertising on it – yet here you are on it yourself!

    • If your VPS went down and it was a software issue, that is 100% correct. Our VPS are 100% self managed.

64B and 128B? Wow, that is REALLY low end ;-).

You can get a 128B “dedicated server” for $4.30 including shipping here:

    http://www.ti.com/tool/msp-exp430g2

(It actually comes with two cpu’s, a 128 byte one and one with a whopping 512 bytes of ram).

They seem to be in the process of raising the price to $5.00 so better buy now ;-).
