Servers located in either Albany NY (test IP: 173.233.80.101) or New York City (test IP: 108.60.141.3). They have been around for a while — since 2003 according to their About page, and domain registered in 2004. They were reselling Virpus when they first got featured here, but has since moved on and have their own VPS reseller program. It has a few good reviews last time the same deal got posted here (although it was a little bit cheaper back then).

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Hate to break the party up, but a hudson valley host review got removed from WHT for being “false”.
Is that just an idea or was it announced ?
It was removed cause the client never fully verified the review not for being false. We have never and would never post reviews about ourselves. We cant control what our clients do.
The IP the “client” provided was an IP located in california.

But they only have servers in Albany or NYC.

and this was the exact thread: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1036063
Thanks for helping prove the client’s review was in fact real. Again WeLinkNYC is the data centers our servers are with in New York City. We have even contacted the data center about the IP going back to Cali and they stated “Sites like that only update their ARIN WHOIS information once every 90 days at best. The IP’s are definitely in New York, as is the server and our ARIN ORG-ID that they’re registered to.”
Correction they provided us with a domain which pinged to that IP.
I got a VPS and can confirm its in WeLink in NYC.
Ernie and his team have been very helpful and I would recommend them.
Do they offer phone support? thanks.
