Patrick told us that INIZ does not utilise any tunnels. All protection (layer 3,4,7) are done by their upstream and so there is no latency change when under attack. For Los Angeles, protection is on sensor mode. Once an attack is detected within a minute the attack goes through filtering automatically. For Amsterdam, there is a little more control on their end. The protected plan comes with permanent filtering and so all traffic will go through the mitigation devices first.

INIZ accepts payments via Paypal, Credit/Debit Cards & Bitcoins. Refunds are only possible within the first 7 days of your first order only (except the IO4G plan), subsequent orders are not eligible for refunds. Some activities not allowed on their servers includes: IRC networks, Mass Mailing, Public torrents/VPN/Proxies, Minecraft and other IO intensive applications, TOR, Phishing, and Brute Force/Scanning. As always, kindly read their Terms Of Service before making any purchase.

When I chose to purchase LA-KVM-1024MB it shows

    3 vCores 40GB SSD Cached 512MB RAM 1TB Bandwidth

The offer says 1024MB RAM and 60 GB storage and 2 TB Bandwidth. Why are they different?

Windows is not allowed on any of our KVM plans due to previous abuse.

Sure and that does not include Windows, our template list url is included on the order form. If it’s requested and client did not know, a refund would obviously be issued.

In short, windows is not allowed and that’s the *current* and previous policy. You will want to find another host if you want to run windows.

It hasn’t been a problem in any of our previous LEB KVM offers so that’s probably why I didn’t mention it here.

That’s OK Patrick, I understand it and I have big respect for you and your decisions. I believe it’s good move and help keeping the nodes in good conditions! :-) I just thought it should be more exposed. High five!

Good thing I didnt order because even if it was allowed, it looks there was an error and the 1GB VPS is actually 512MB (which isnt enough for Windows Server 2012 R2)

I changed over from Prometeus to INIZ almost a year ago due to a lower price, but I’ve not had a happy ride with my server for at least the last few months.

Maybe it’s just my node, but there’s been outages at least every month. Not long ones but even ten minutes of downtime is annoying. Support has not been great in explaining the reason for these outages.

Performance is okay, what you’d expect with OpenVZ, and network speeds are great but the bumpy ride from DoS attacks to other node users and who knows what just give me a headache and complaints from users.

Can you submit a ticket for me to look into?

There was a internal case for issues with NL3 but they have been resolved since last week. We had some network related outages due to maintenance but all of them were <5mins from our upstream or one we planned (2 days ago).

Protection has been added to NL this month as well so DDoS shouldn't be a issue anymore.

    Hi Patrick,

Do you offer custom VPS such as 64MB box with 500GB BW? I need small box for vpn, nginx reverse proxy with DDOS protection in LA.

We don’t sadly, in reality its not worth the trouble hosting a <$10/year client on a protected plan. The 256MB is the lowest price VM at the moment from us.

I was their customer for about a year, with a couple of IO3 and IO5 vps. While Patrick was in charge, everything went smoothly. It changed a lot when the company was bought.

The final drop was at the end of last year, when one of the vps was suspended for high usage (was performing a security scan due to a wordpress exploit) without any previous notice and support was unresponsive for a day.

when they finnaly replied, someone claiming was the general manager stated that because the old plans were inexpensive, they didn’t provide support anymore.
Meaning, they had changed the TOS without noticing the customers.

I just packed my backups and moved to another host. Won’t be their customer again.

  18. Patrick:

IO plans has never came with support so no TOS has changed. Of course if you didn’t submit too many tickets in a short period I would gladly help.

Scam. They kept closing my application with no notice. When I gave up trying to figure out why and submitted a ticket they claimed it was CPU usage abuse. Problem is when I just opened the application and left it idle (not running) they still closed it. And not just on one server. They would close it on every VM it was on at the same time.
