The question – How long this free credit valid? :)

    July 6, 2017 @ 4:00 pm | Reply
    • Hello Lucas,

The credit will last until it is consumed. It is only allowed to be used for Cloud Services at LSN, but it will not expire. Come get the credit, and use it when you like. Worst case I will ask you each month if you are ready to use the credit : ) We’re offering a hand up to partners who may be interested in joining our network, nothing subversive. No catch. No strings attached.

  5. Greg Williams: Hi, do you need help with your project?

    Client: Coupon: LEB2017

I have registered my account and want to get the $100 credit

Greg Williams: Thanks for registering. The offer is for “Up to $100 in invoice credit for 1 month.”

You just need to open an accounting ticket with us in OnePortal, our control panel, once you receive your invoice.

Just mention this offer “$100 in Cloud Credit” in the ticket.

Client: That means, i can use the credit for 1st month of service? or can used for buy service for a year?

Greg Williams: You can use the credit for one month, yes.

Client: Why you haven’t mention that on LEB? What’s wrong with you? Totally bullshit! Read

Greg Williams: You can have a free server for one month.

And also needs a phone verification. You need to tap on “Call Now” to get a call. Their automated system is attempting to call you within 20 minutes.

Out automated system will prompt specific orders for account verification. Those orders may require photo id or other supporting documents. However, In order to get the credit applied to your account, you simply associate a billing source such as the credit card. If the automated system does prompt you for verification then you may have to fully verify your account with the supporting documents.

    • This deal comes with FREE 500 Gbps DDoS Protection + 1 Year Free Service when considering the price of VPS and cloud credit provided. You will receive $100 credit. You may use it for cloud as you see fit. You may start with a 1 core, 1GB RAM, 20GB SSD and not pay for more than 1 year, or scale up to a bare-metal dedicated instance and consume the credit quickly.

Since the servers are completely scalable. This can be done via the OpenStack Horizon web UI, or through the standard OpenStack APIs, development libraries, and compatible applications. Snapshots of servers and volumes can be created quickly and cloned as needed. You can also upload RAW virtual machine images for private use. Hope you find some real value here and not just a discount.

    • Limestone Networks has traditionally been a IaaS Dedicated Server Provider, with a much higher entry price-point, over the last several years. While we entered the cloud arena in 2014 it was not until 2016 that we released OnePortal Rapid, fused with OpenStack and the OnePortal dashboard.

We discovered ways to improve over the years. In addition to sub-1-minute instance and dedicated server provisioning times, we have implemented an hourly, pay as you go, utility-style billing model for OnePortal Rapid starting $0.01 per hour, which will allows yout to scale cloud and dedicated servers up and down dynamically.

What’s the catch? We are excited to share these new services and hope that new, returning, and old partners are able to enjoy our new cloud without risk. We have the resources to support your business, website, or application for success — while sticking to our IaaS roots.

ok this sounds interesting, so if im understanding this correctly i could get this vps for a month, get a $100 credit, cancel the vps after a month and use the credit towards anything including the pay per use hourly servers? if thats the case id happily signup.

        • Hello Chris,

You don’t even have to deploy the s1.tiny instance. You just get the credit. The title is more to illustrate to value / cost. You can see we implemented an hourly, pay as you go, utility-style billing model on our cloud pricing page. Notice the FREE 500Gbps DDoS Protection while available :)

Ask for me and I’ll be sure to expedite your onboarding experience. Thanks for the question, Chris.

got to the point where i signed for an account but to many things did not work as id expect of a typical provider and i find the identity verification process scary at best. phone verification never calls and no thanks for signing up email which raises a few warning flags for me. while this whole thing might be legit and great i dont feel comfortable giving enough information to create a bank account. nothing personal just been scammed to much and im 95% sure my bank wouldnt cover me if i gave away the amount of information being requested. if other reasonable verification options become avaiable ill be happy to reconsider.

Amazon AWS and Microsoft’s platform do not require all this.

The whole identity verification is a step too far. You already have our names, email addresses and an associated card number – that is all you need.

This trial credits the account – you are not providing us services in credit to be paid for later on down the line. The credit you are offering is FREE.

Erm… are you deliberately thick? Microsoft and Amazon don’t ask for ID because 1) they’re both multi-billion dollar corporations who can afford to be scammed by fraudsters/abusers now and again! 2) they have too many sign ups to verify like this

I’ve replied to the ticket – thank you for the proper/fast response.

The issue here seems to be the $7 USD mark, which isn’t an issue for me, but it’s the maximum price I believe? Not sure, even though this posts mentions $7 USD, not $7.30, pretty sure it’s worth, but I’d definitely get this post corrected! :)

          July 7, 2017 @ 1:14 pm | Reply
          • If the mods would like to change it, that is fine — though it is actually ~$0.01 / hour estimated at 730 hours per month (about $7.30). No intention of being deceptive. The platform is simply post-usage paid, billed hourly, down to the minute metering. Also, as mentioned earlier in this thread our reseller are eligible for a discounted service which puts the cost of the l1.tiny instance at under $7 when considered monthly.

Thanks for the kind consideration in disclosing this more openly, as we want to keep this offer a simple as possible. Let us know how your experience fares. Thanks again Miguel!

Do I have to purchase $7 VPS first to get the free credit or just signup and go through verify process is enough?

It seems a pretty interesting option. I need to deploy MariaDB servers for my current Asian clients. If things go right as expected, our partnership will be good for both of us. I will deploy individual VPSes of all my Asia clients with you, not less than 20 at the moments. Do you have LA datacenter option? I think it is a better choice for Asian clients.

I have uploaded my national ID card copy and clicked to verify my phone number. 30 minutes passed but no phone call yet. They also require debit/credit card copy. It seems a bit odd.

I will update my experience later.

            Hello,

I have a chat with Greg Williams. He is from the marketing department not accounting. He has updated my ticket and replied with some information on getting started. I asked him for promo balance in chat and he told me to update 2 amounts charged to my card. I told him that I have already entered them and the system has confirmed it.

He told me that he will notify his supervisor and after reviewing my account supervisor will add promo balance.

            Best regards

You just need to select l1.tiny (L1) to get a cloud VPS at $7.30 month.
You may also choose any other big plan if you want. (It’s will consume more credits.)

            I found it.

I created a Windows 2016 instance on s1.small (2 GB). Worked like a charm. Excellent speed and IO. No bottleneck. Happy with performance after performing some little tests.

I am busy for a while. I will update my experience later with Linux distro. Maybe, after a week.
I will make a test on l1.small (2GB) with MariaDB 10.2.x (InnoDB) and 50 concurrent connections on 1M rows with massive SELECT with GROUP BY and moderate INSERT/UPDATE. Maybe, this helps others. I will show details of my test if possible.

With the current performance of Win2016, I think the Linux server will perform greater in this price as compared to other providers. So far so good.

          • Good to hear.
Basically i am running VMs on my own Dedicated Server with Proxmox.
I like test providers and make review of them.
I have tested their few plans and their highest I/O speed was about 750 MB/s and lowest was about 180MB/s.
Highest bandwidth speed was 900 Mbps download and 750 Mbps upload.
Speed test with cachefly 102MB/s and from Netherlands 107MB/s.
Their lowest speed was 350 Mbps download and 86 Mbps upload and 3MB/s from Asia.
I don’t know they are using real SSDs or not. Because, i am getting 2.6 GB/s I/O speed on my server with HGST 2x2TB HDD(Raid 1) HDD+ZFS and 8.1GB/s with Samsung EVO’s 4x120GB SSDs+ZFS cache with Proxmox.
Maybe LSN’s staffs want to say something about this?

            Hi, Bulls…

It depends on various hardware/software factors and VM neighbors. Maybe, the node is noisy. I have not tested it thoroughly. I am looking for a database solution for my Asian clients. I am afraid of managing my own Dedi Box. Already working with Amazon RDS without tension. Speed is slow and the price is high as compared.

I’m a bit confused now. I’m waiting for accounting to get back to me with my $100 credit.

I do have 2 questions though:

    1. Given there’s a huge misunderstanding in the comments; I want to confirm, will the $100 credit expire in a month or will it expire after I finish all the $100 worth of credit?
    2. It’s mentioned above and in comments that s1.tiny costs $7.30 a month; looking at the pricing chart, why does it show that it costs $14.60 a month? ($0.02/hr * 730)

    Thanks

The s1 class instances have ceph 3x replication across different blades, so there is more storage overhead and more cost.

For the $7 instance you’re looking at the l1.tiny instance which is local RAID storage. Scroll down a bit further on the product page and you’ll see the l1 instances.

It’s worth opening a ticket with our abuse team for discussion. You can create an account by generating a dedicated server order then stopping before completing payment. Then login to the control panel at one.limestonenetworks.com – GL Nick! Reach out to me if I may be of any assistance.

Hope these hoops are worth it! Just sent the id (drivers license / credit card photos) and now trying to figure out the credit card verification thing…

Got this from support : “Go to the billing tab in OnePortal, go to sources, then click the words “Not Verified” next to your card you wish to use. ”

On my billing tab, these words “Not Verified” do not exist… There is a “no-entry” type symbol on the page under verified… and when I click on that it is asking for two dollar amounts…

And on that page it says, “After clicking “Send Authorizations” the two charges will be made to this credit card.” However there is nothing that says, “Send Authorizations”

Is this a summer time host or something? Seems to be thrown together rather quickly…

If you wish to provide me a ticket number, i will assist you in expediting your order.

This morning I have personally assisted over 60 persons with on-boarding their account. PS, we do enjoy summer-time here but I do not believe we are representative of the comment of “thrown together rather quickly”.

Looking forward to making your experience more splendid. Thanks for any kind understanding.

Thanks just got verified… support was surprisingly fast…

The “thrown together” comment was referring to your sign up process telling people to click on buttons/links that don’t exist… It wasn’t meant as offensive, but there is nothing more frustrating than trying to follow instructions that don’t line up with reality… Typically providers who have been in business many years have a streamlined process…

Looking forward to the credit and trying out your stuff…

    • Hello Rajib78,

Thank you for the feedback. At times, when our automated provisioning system prompts for full account verification, you must upload supporting documents. Also please note as in your case, unfortunately, we are unable to accept virtual/prepaid credit cards as a valid verifiable payment source. This is typically the case when full account verification is required.

Please continue to discuss the matter with our team in your support ticket, and ask if the decision is final. We’re here to help.

Hey, everyone. The pricing was a little confusing, so Limestone sent me this link which breaks it down:

    https://www.limestonenetworks.com/cloud/servers.html#pricing

There are lots of options besides the cost of the Instance.

Things to note. The “l1.tiny” costs $7.30/mo, and is the cheapest option. I think the “L” means local, as in your data is stored on one machine only. Sounds like their other plans spread your data across multiple systems (better reliability I would guess). 1TB/mo bandwidth included. DDoS protected IPs (Voxility) can be included free if you provision an Instance with it.

IPv6 does work, but you need to add the “Internet” interface when setting up an Instance. I use both DDoS and Internet (2 interfaces), plus had to manually configure IPv6 in CentOS since their DHCP didn’t assign the IPv6 address automatically.

Their support is good. Setup is a bit weird, but they helped me set up a “post-install script” which allows remote root logins with my own password.

One more thing. If you upgrade/downgrade an Instance to another size or plan, it may wipe your data. Didn’t realize it would start my Instance fresh and wipe the drive when changing from “s1-tiny” to “l1-tiny”, so note that may happen to you and always keep backups of important data.
