LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
My VPS with them has 25 IPV6s
CloudFlare does not mean no SSL ;)
Just 20$ per month to hide your real IPv4 I do think it worth :)
What does CloudFlare actually do.
Free reverse-proxy delivered by global “nodes” which is determined by GeoDNS backend.
Explain.
Explain what?
Still don’t get it.
Imagine I’m a stupid user. I navigated to LoveVPS.com . Since the domain is resolved by CloudFlare’s authoritive DNS, CloudFlare’s GeoDNS module detect my recurrsive DNS’ location and returned a IP with CloudFlare’s nearest node. The node then serve as a reverse-proxy and returned LoveVPS’ content to me.
Oh right so it wouldn’t work with PHP.
Dynamic Content etc.
Reverse proxy does not mean caching.
I think it still works with dynamic content -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_proxy
CMIIW ^_^
Oh right
I have a control panel that currently has ~250 concurrent users, and its really starting to well…. go slow.
Okay didnt realise that SSL is an option for their Pro account. SSL certificate would be bound to a dedicated IP in this case, wouldn’t it?
No overselling and 500 gigs of transfer? Something isn;t right there.
They have unmetered 100mbps bandwidth.
That’s called oversold bandwidth from their upstream provider.
Thats no surprise with Burst.
Website Offline
Sorry but the site you are trying to access is currently offline or not accepting connections. The most likely causes are that server is down for maintenance, there may be a network problem, or the site may be experiencing excessive load.
If you continue to receive this error after you believe the site is back online, you may contact CloudFlare support.
Hello, I am unsure why this has happened may be an issue on cloudflare’s end or you may have been blocked as bad trafic. Try sending us an email at sales [a t] lovevps [.] com with your IP and we will trace this issue for you.
Hello,
I am not sure why this has happened for you, please send me a email with your IP and I will see if you got caught up in cloudflare.
My email is matthew [a t] lovevps [ d o t ] com
We Now only have 3 VPS #1’s left order soon to avoid disappointment.
When I tried to access the website directly, I was redirected to an “Access Restricted” page with google adds and I have to fill a captcha field before I can access the site.
However, when I use a proxy or TOR, I don’t get any restriction. So I guess there is a restriction that only applies to certain countries.
It really ain’t a love song.
i think that one is the “cloudflare” thing..
Yeah I guess so.
Hmmm, got me curious now. From my North Carolina IP address, I get in fine. (This is the library that seems to block everything but the pron sites that they should be blocking.)
Ditto from my proxy VPS in Germany.
Where are the rest of you coming in from and being blocked? Might be helpful to state so that can see if this is supposed to be this way.
The VPS #1 is no out of stock we should have more stock within the next 48 hours.
ETA on New Nodes is now 48 hours.
We will also be provisioning Xen PV Servers on the new servers. OpenVZ will still be available.
Hello,
Once again this fantastic deal is now available again.
Xen has been delayed by another week while we sort out some partnerships with OS company’s.
