LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

LunarVPS - $5/month 512MB OVZ and $7/month 512MB Xen or KVM in Sweden or Switzerland

Lunarvps_European_Virtualization_Expert_-_2014-08-13_09.01.16Due to another host dropping out, I’m doing another surprise post this month! LunarVPS offers VPS in Switzerland and Sweden with a fair amount of bandwidth and you can even choose between OpenVZ, Xen, and KVM! You can even get a one-time 10% discount on OpenVZ servers with the coupon holly10.

The servers

OpenVZ

Xen

KVM

The domain name lunarvps.com has been registered since 2011 and is registered to a person in India. In addition to the above servers they also offer a DDoS-protected server, though that is well over LEB pricing limits. Servers are said to be set up instantly with the exceptions of add-ons. They claim to provide 24/7/365 support with an average 15-minute response time. Host nodes run disk arrays in RAID10. There also is a 99.98% uptime SLA for power and network, with credit being given if this uptime is not met. Let us know if you give these guys a shot!

Note that this is a surprise post. The host is not aware of this post being published, so don’t blame any low stock or other issues on them, please!

LunarVPS accepts payments via PayPal, Perfect Money, and Bitcoin. One additional IPv4 seems available per server at $4/IPv4/month, which is quite a lot. Given that it’s the EU, though, it’s not that high. I don’t know if they offer IPv6 but with Xen and KVM it’s definitely possible to tunnel them. With OpenVZ is depends a bit if the proper kernel modules are loaded. HE does have a PoP in Sweden, so you should be able to get good IPv6 there anyway. As always, please read their Terms of Service before ordering!

Do not even try to use a vps or whatever with privatelayer connectivity.
Bots, Spam, DDoS, very bad bandwidth and packet loss are the main focus of privatelayer!
Yes i already had a VPS some month ago on that network (not with LunarVPS) and i know it’s one of the most bullshit networks i ever saw…

    In the AUP:

(…) Transmission, distribution, or storage of any information, data or material in violation of United States or state regulation or law, or by the common law, is prohibited. (…)

Is the Indian the real owner of this company or is it a puppet of an American?

If is so, WHY is this in the AUP when the company doesn’t have any relationship with the USA?

Just tested the Swizerland one, it’s great, very good download/upload. Customer service very reactive.
By the way, it’s seems to be operated by Alibabahost (each time you login to your VPS panel, your receive a notification… and it comes from Alibabahost.com)

    Avoid this provider!
    1) erroneously received the same initial invoice twice
    2) never ever received my machine
    Useless $11 spent for nothing…

Avoid this provider! They advertise that they support payment by paypal however they do not recognize payment and send me an overdue notice each time. I then have to create a billing support ticket and then they close the invoice. This happens each month and is a drag. If they do not have the competence do deal with paypal payment as they advertise then they are probably incompetent in other things.

Had the exact same experience, paid *twice* for the same invoice and I’m still getting a notification that my initial invoice is overdue. So my server’s down and I’ve lost all my data…great!

Without a shadow of a doubt, the worst hosting provider I’ve ever used. I don’t know why I switched from hosthatch in the first place, evidently I’m an idiot.

PS: VPS (location was in Switzerland) was also subject to DDoS attacks and outages for hours at a time. I appreciate that this may not be the company’s fault, but it’s something worth considering if you’re a potential buyer.

The speed LunarVPS provides download speed of ~3Mb/s, whereas they advertise 1Gb/s. It is just 300 times less :)
Their service is not worth of money.

Stay away from these assholes!!! they are totally scammers!!!

Order Swedish VPS, but they give you romanian one with IP address that’s on blacklist!!!! and their control panel host is constantly dead!!!

When you ask refund, they just try to fritter away your energy with nonsense bullshit!!!! alway tell they will forward the billing stuff to the billing department, and your refund would arrive in 48 hrs, however, that never happens! they are just a bunch of shameless fraudster and thieves!!!

    Just stay away them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
