LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Media-Hosts - CAD$7/month or CAD$48/year 512MB OVZ in Ottowa, Canada

Media-Hosts-KVM_&_OpenVZ_Virtual_Servers_by_Media-Hosts.com_-_2014-12-19_10.54.58Joseph, from Media-Hosts, has written us to shared this offer located in Canada. The interesting thing is, though, it’s not with OVH! On top of this offer, you get the first month 50% off with the coupon LowEndSSDFirstMonth if you pay month-to-month.

The offer

  • 512MB RAM
  • 512MB vSwap
  • 15GB SSD space (RAID1)
  • 1TB traffic
  • 500Mbps uplink
  • 2x IPv4
  • /64 IPv6
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • CAD$7/month ($6.65)
  • CAD$48/year ($41.39)
  • Order here

During ordering you can also opt for a non-SSD plan with 20GB HDD space, 500GB traffic, and a 200Mbps uplink at the same price.

Media-Hosts dates back to 2002 when it was initially started. In 2004 is was registered as a business and in 2012 it became part of Media-Hosts Inc., a registered Canadian company as well (registered in Ontario). They have their own ASN and are quite transparent about their network. More information about their network and the capacity available can be found here. This offer, and any of their other OpenVZ offers for that matter, are not oversold and has never been oversold; it’s a policy they have sticked to since their launch. This offer is part of their OpenVZ.ca brand, so don’t be confused if you see this instead of Media-Hosts during ordering. From some tiny bits I’ve read reviews seem to be positive. This doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear from you, so feel free to share your comments with us!

PayPal and Visa/MasterCard are accepted payment methods. Not much is mentioned about refunds, only that they will be given in case you are terminated (as a result of bandwidth abuse, for example). They do offer a price-freeze guarantee and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. For all the details, please read their Terms of Service.

You are a complete dick, and run a fake website with malware embedded in it. See if that helps your SEO.

Ottawa? Nope. A colleague of mine uses these guys, and from what we know in the past, and still shows to be the case as of today, they host their services out of Cologix in Montreal… their offices are based out of Ottawa, but their servers are elsewhere.
