MikroVPS Kft - Hungarian Xen VPS with 10Gbit/s Uplinks

Janos from MikroVPS has sent us over an offer that’s rather interesting for a Hungarian host. They are offering Xen based VPS nodes connected with 10Gbit/s uplinks which we like because Xen is both a desire platform and not as common as it used to be. I’m not aware of anyone else doing this yet in this region, but feel free to let me know I’m wrong in the comments (wink).  They also have offers which include Windows support if you need it.

Read more to check their offers, starting at just 7.98 EUR per quarter and if you do buy, let us know what you think in the comments!

      Hi Janos,

Can TUN/TAP be enabled? Do you allow usage as a VPN?

        Hello,

These are Xen VPS plans, which are real virtualisation, so VPS it have their own kernel. Like on KVM.

However on OpenVZ, you can enable/disable it on SolusVM panel.

    Hi,

Is it possible to install FreeBSD 11.0 on the XEN-HVM plans? Do the XEN-HVM plans allow you to mount custom isos or is it just like templates?

How does HVM performance compare to PV?

    Thank you,
    Nick

      Hi,

Yes it possible to run BSD on HVM.

If you enabling PV-HVM drivers HVM performance almost the same as PV.
