NBVPS - $3 256MB OpenVZ VPS in Phoenix

NBVPS Via this WHT offer. NBVPS is offering some pretty cheap OpenVZ VPS plans starting at $20/year for 128MB/180MB memory, 8GB storage and 100GB/month data transfer. One step up gets you “VPS256” at $3/month (first month $2.10 with promo code WHT30OFF). Here is the sign up link, and you get

  • 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
  • 15GB storage
  • 200GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/Virtualizor

Payment available in either PayPal or Alipay (for Chinese customers I guess). Servers in Phoenix AZ with PhoenixNAP (test IP: 174.138.175.114). Quite a few fails on my standard test. No SSL on the ordering forms. ToS and AUP are invalid links on their home page. There appears to be a contact number on their Contact page, but I am not sure how valid it is.

Domain was registered 2 weeks ago by someone in Guang Dong, China, and it appears to be the English version of his NBVPS.com VPS business (website in Chinese).

      • @CrazyFeng — took me a while to figure out what “NB” means. For those who are interested, here is the Wikipedia article on NB and the last entry:

牛B (niúbī), a common word in Mandarin Chinese profanity

Once you follow the link, it says

        niúbī (牛屄/牛逼) = f_____g awesome (literally “cow cunt”…)

Okay. CowCuntVPS — that makes sense…

        • NB,a new word popular on the Internet,is both a noun and an adjective…But we mainly use this word as an adjective, which means super and extraordinary. It is a commendatory term. What you get from wiki is its noun meaning.(original meaning)

I’m happy that you are interested in Chinese culture.

Everyone should know, nbvps is a liar.

Nbvps has an taobao shop, like ebay.com. They have too many bad reviews.

The nbvps.com deceived many Chinese people. Some people buy their vps, but they found, The vps unable to work. And no one to deal with the problem.

Now nbvps.net ready to deceive customers around the world. Because in China, everyone knows them, they can not continue to operate.

Although nbvps owner is a students, but I think his character is poor. He only know the money, any customer is not important to him. He does not respect the customer.

  29. Thank you for everyone’s support. Yesterday our main website suffered a big DDos attack and back online after 2hours.We have add SSL in our whole website now. You can order our products safety and quickly.

“NB” means very good in china, it just have almost the same pronunciation with( cow xxx). But many peopled use cow(N in china) to praise someone and use B(not cunt) to say somthing is positive, you can view the explain in china wiki with this link http://baike.baidu.com/view/54728.htm
For some person of the same occupation misinterpret the meaning of nb, I really don not want to say more.
Yesterday, our VPS suffered a big issue and we recoverd most of the data but on some VPS on node1 cannot be recovered. For the affected users, we have offered them 2 months VPS free of charge.
Thanks for everyone’s support of NBVPS.NET. We promise we will always doing our best.

I don’t think anybody should trust NBVPS, seriously.
And i think lowendbox should stop listing NBVPS because promoting NBVPS.net is just one of his marketing measures targeting to chinese. (Lowendbox.com is quite famous with chinese, but most of them don’t even understand english quite well.)
The boss of NBVPS claimed that lowendbox.com list NBVPS.net because lowendadmin think NBVPS is a very good VPS provider. And of course because you don’t understand chinese so you are unable to know about this unless i tell you.

So i think , don’t let this guy fool you, my dear lowendadmin. And list some creditable provider instead please.

At last, NBVPS is just a joke, don’t take it seriously, and have fun.
