Nixcom - $4.99 512MB Xen VPS Exclusive Offer

Updated October 2011: Martin from Nixcom has decided to terminate the service. See this comment and replied comments for discussions.

Nixcom Martin from Nixcom.ca has sent me an exclusive offer on their new Xen nodes in Baltimore MD. Two packages, and I suspect these are Canadian dollars (so less when you convert to USD).

  • VPS-256-xLEB (order link)
  • 256MB memory/512MB swap
  • 10GB storage
  • 500GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
  • $2.99/month or $7.99/quarter
  • VPS-512-xLEB (order link)
  • 512MB memory/1024MB swap
  • 20GB storage
  • 1000GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
  • $4.99/month or $12.99/quarter
Updated: Xen nodes have all been sold out (just over an hour after I posted the above offer), but Martin has kindly set up some OpenVZ boxes. Same price, same spec. Chicago DC. Order VPS-256-oLEB, and Order VPS-512-oLEB.

You can use onyx.nixcom.ca for ping/traceroute test. The actual server is dual-core i3-540 with 8GB memory and RAID1. Low end desktop grade stuff but very good bang for the buck. It is a very good deal though which I think might be below cost. So it is a loss leader to gain market share and available in very limited amount.
