This is the second time we have featured OneAsiaHost, their last offer was posted back in October and was well received. One thing which is worth noting, is that the Core VPS plans come with much more bandwidth than the normal plans they offer because it uses low cost Hurricane Electric bandwidth (no direct peer to China). This means that unlike our other six plans listed below, the network isn’t optimized but comes with a lot more bandwidth. Nodes are based on the Intel Xeon 3.4Ghz E3-1245V2 processor and have 32GB RAM.

OneAsiaHost are only accepting PayPal at present and do not have refund policy. Each VPS is connected to the internet on a 100mbps port speed. 10 IPv6 addresses are included with every plan as well as 1 IPv4 Address (additional IPv4 cost $3 monthly with a maximum of 2). VPN and proxies are allowed but IRC, Adult, Tor and torrents are prohibited. For more information regarding whats not and what is allowed or for other terms, check out their Terms of Service.

I have ssd plans with them, and so far i satisfied with their performance and the IO test is good one:

    16384+0 records in 16384+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 0.779588 seconds, 1.4 GB/s

Ping average from HK and Indonesia is around 58 – 62ms
from Key largo Miami Fl was around 230ms

tracert is about 8 from indonesia and not yet tested from HK or Miami

  4. no direct peer to China means that more US vps come better ping than this one right?

    December 16, 2012 @ 8:22 am | Reply
    • China ping will be bad for Core VPS, it’ll go from SG > US > China since Hurricane Electric doesn’t peer with China in asia, so expect 400+ms latency. The Standard/SSD VPS will usually get 60-100ms to most parts of China due to our direct China route.

Core VPS is targeted at customers who need high bandwidth more than low latency, usually for web/file serving in the Asia region. We do have extensive peering in Singapore so customers from asian countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam will get good latency and speeds via our Core VPS if your ISP connects to us via a peering route.

For VPN usage, will not recommend the Core VPS. Since most VPN customers are latency sensitive, our Standard or SSD VPSes are latency optimized and have access to various Tier-1 networks for best connectivity. You get lowest latency to your VPS, as well as lowest latency to your destination network as well, can’t get any better than that.

        Hi Kenshin,

I have a Standard VPS (direct peer to China) and I’m seeing a lot of packet loss (IPv4 and IPv6) for several weeks now. Do you have plans to increase the capacity of that circuits? Thanks.

        December 16, 2012 @ 10:24 am | Reply
        • Open a ticket with forward (from VPS) and reverse (from target, if available) and we will take a look. Try to provide MTR as well if possible, since that will provide us a good view of where the packet loss starts.

Circuit capacity isn’t a problem, we’re barely hitting 30% on any of our links.

I’m having trouble paying using Paypal. I already submitted a ticket but I haven’t got a reply. Is there a problem?

    • I replied your ticket about an hour ago. You need to check with Paypal on why your payment was denied, there’s no issue on my end I’m able to receive payment from a few other customers right after your ticket.

Ok thank you. It seems there’s a problem in my bank since I also can’t access my account online. Sorry for the trouble.

    Opted for their standard network.

Looks good to many spots in Asia from our tests.

Bandwidth amount is anemic. Disk is rather tiny.

Satisfied so far. Wish there were other competitive offers for Asia… It is a region that lacks low end price style offers.

Their fraud scanner picked me up when I tried to order from these guys (I’m in Starbucks, guess it’s the IP). That’s fine and perfectly understandable, but when I submitted a support request asking if they could move my order to ‘pending’ they were quite rude and told me to use another provider. Annoying, I’m in Hong Kong and the VPSs here and in most of Asia are much more expensive than in the US etc.
