LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

QuickWeb - $4.99 300MB OpenVZ VPS in LA/PHX/DE/UK

QuickWeb Latest LowEndBox-exclusive offer from my VPS sponsor, QuickWeb. Roel sent me this yesterday — they are doing a special promo for LowEndBox readers. $4.99/month (or $35.88/year) for their “SUPA VPS – QW Budget Box VZ II” (yeah it’s quite a long name). You get

  • 300MB memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer (1Gbps in UK and Phoenix, 100Mbps in LA and DE)
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

4 locations to choose from. Phoenix AZ, Los Angeles CA, Dusseldorf Germany or London UK. Do note that the plan actually comes with 256MB memory. In order to upgrade to 300MB and 1Gbps in Phoenix and UK, you’ll need to open a ticket to ask for them, as the upgrade will be manually applied.

QuickWeb has been highly rated here in LowEndBox. They are New Zealand based company (hopefully not affected by recent quakes). (Disclaimer: LowEndBox.com is hosted on a Xen VPS sponsored by QuickWeb).

    • Sigh…the best offer I have ever seen from Quickweb this year so far is the 50% off anything that they posted on Twitter…too bad it was posted at 3AM my time and by the time I woke up, it was all gone (there were only 5 slots available I think)….

      June 15, 2011 @ 1:20 pm | Reply
    • But needless to say, they have really good VPS, stable, fast and support never takes more than 30 min to reply.

I picked up one from the UK DC, network is incredibly fast! I easily can max out my home connection in eastern Europe… Probably my favorite VPS now!

However, Quickweb is extremely boring… Yes, sorry to say. No fiascoes about getting refunds, downed servers, berating clients etc… They have everything except the drama…

Customer support has really set a high standard for others to follow…

    • Maybe we can convince one of their techs to have a love interest with one of the tech monkeys in one of their datacenters. :D

    • Boring providers like QuickWeb just don’t spur people’s discussions! I guess one way to increase the page views here on LowEndBox.com is by posting offers from crappy providers, so their customers come here to moan and groan.

I’ll be right on that task!

      • us boring? LOL looks like do good or bad people will have something on you hahaha, anyway we prefer it this way so we can focus on business side rather mucking around :)

Would you guys please stop mocking Nordic?
They made me an offer I want to refuse and now I don’t know how to tell them!

          June 15, 2011 @ 11:34 pm | Reply
        • I don’t see any mention of Nordic on this page.

And I wouldn’t call it mocking. More of an attempt for them to clean up their act and offer up some honesty which appears to be lacking with them.

@Markus, I don’t think quickweb ever mocking another provider, that’s what I like about them even I’m not their client, I wish they have another super low end xen vps offer :P haha..

SUPA VPS PLANS – QW Budget Box VZ II (Phoenix)
      SolusVM/Linux 1 x Core Xeon 3440 (shared), 256MB RAM 384MB Burst, 10GB, 250GB Bandwidth, 10Mbit Port – 1 x IP address

in germany last time Quickweb did a better offer see: http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/quickweb-499-openvz-germany/ that had **384MB guaranteed/450MB burstable memory** for the same price.

so i pass on this one, and wait for the next promo. I have already a lot of VPS in DE and UK. Maybe next one is CH (Equinix datacenter too, like their de node)

  12. Joe Merit:

Why do the Phoenix and UK locations say 10mbit port on the signup pages ?

    says 1gbit here.

    June 15, 2011 @ 1:27 pm | Reply
    • I think they will manually adjust the port speed as part of the promotion, the default is 10mbit.

Would like to have a speed test on the UK site? I am from Malaysia

  18. 8dee:

hmmm…the promotion has ended…i think LowEndBox should put an expiry date on those promotion as we could still click on the direct link to signup…but for those upgrade that requires submitting ticket, and they no longer honor them anymore.

anyhow…hope that the 10 mbps port will not make much difference as I will be trying to put a website just for trial. Wonder if that make a lot of difference as i see the other vps does not specify them

    July 20, 2011 @ 10:54 am | Reply
    • I would be easy if the providers give me the expiry date in their ad copies on WHT of in their emails, assuming they do not expire prematurely…
