    • Hi,

ubuntu 16 is available as an ISO

you can see all the ISOs we currently provide here:

      https://servercheap.net/crm/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/34/ISO-Library.html

I was curious about this, but the order form had “Manual ISO Install. Linux & BSD” as an option for the KVM plans (checked OpenVZ and did not have this option). Went ahead and ordered and you get the option to mount a 16.04 ISO.

Can’t speak to anything else yet, but going to check them out.

Is there a cost associated with mounting ubuntu 16.0.4? How exactly do you do this?

        January 11, 2018 @ 11:33 am | Reply
        • Hi,

no there is no cost, you will have the ability to mount ubuntu 16 iso from your client area, and then install it using your vnc console. Or if you have trouble doing it you can open a ticket on our helpdesk and a tech will install it for you.

Thanks for the offer. Just in time as well, OVH decided to charge $2 more this month for the unmetered I had there so I ditched them for y’all. Performance looks good so far.

  8. Hi, Happy New Year! I’m very interested in a plan, but i’m not looking for 2GB of ram, but instead 1GB. Is there an alternative to the $2.99 monthly but cheaper? Something like:

    KVM Plan X
    1 CPU Cores
    1 GB RAM
    10GB SSD
Unmetered Bandwidth (could be limited if you make it cheaper)
    Linux & BSD Operating systems

I’m new to VPS and I’m looking to run Plex with Google Drive as the storage. From what I can tell, OpenVZ Plan 1 would be cutting it close but OpenVZ Plan 2 should do nicely. Any experience with customers doing this?

You can use SSH client on android. There are many on play store. Termius is great. You can run commands easily. Desktop is always the best way though.

  11. Hi,

you could but it would be difficult. you need a computer or laptop.

you cant use rdp since this is not a windows server, its a linux server and it requires an SSD client to connect to, such as PUTTY for windows.

crypto mining on a vps is a bad idea as it’s a shared resource and typically most providers don’t permit this tho id check with these guys i may be wrong

        • Yep, Wulfy is correct. VPS is not for mining crypto currency.

    • Hello,

I dont think so, you purchased 3 servers and started mining crypto currency. Thats why they were deleted and payments refunded. We dont bother emailing anybody who thinks they can mine crypto currency in a shared environment.

I was going to buy VPS to set up crypto wallet + mining pool – that’s not mining, but it would fully consume 1 core at all times. Is this also prohibited?

Since now, no refund are issues. when contacted via email, the response is “our system are not allow and not designed for refund”. I don’t think that they are serious in business.

I hope they keep up with this speed/performance in the long run. I’m super impressed with the support, very knowledgeable and solved one of my issues quickly.
