LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

The $13.69/yr Crunchbits ‘Raindog308 20K’ Offer Sold Out In 4 Hours... (Limited Restock Coming Soon)

Recently, Raindog308 posted about a potential Crunchbits special in celebration of hitting 20,000 “thanks” over on LowEndTalk.

Nobody really knew what to expect, or if any offers were actually going to come…

But, my friend, I have both bad and good news for you…

Let’s start with the good news, the “Raindog308 20K” offer is definitely real:

crunchbits offer thread

Now for the bad news…

As Crunchbits stated over on LET, the offer was very limited. A few hundred and they sold out right around 4 hours after the thread was posted.

Yes, before we could even post it here on LEB. I don’t even think Raindog308 has had a chance to see the thread yet for himself.

It’s understandable why it sold out so fast. At $13.69 annually for 2CPU, 25GB SSD, and 3GB ram with IPv4… it’s a killer offer.

Here’s the YABS Crunchbits shared:

When You Can Expect A Restock

After a few hundred sold in the first few hours and supplies dwindled down to zero, Crunchbits posted the following on the LET sales thread:

We’re not done yet. We still have a tray of 2696 v4 CPUs to burn up on this, the goal is to have these restocked until at least the first deadline on giveaways. I didn’t think LET(and wherever else this was shared to) would chew through a few hundred in about 3 hours, otherwise we would have prepped more on Friday.

Either way, don’t worry–I’ll bump this thread when we add more and you can expect that to be between 5PM and 8PM PST August 7th, 2023.

So, what that means for you is that if you want to get your hands on one of these awesome little machines…

You need to be watching the LowEndTalk thread right here between 5PM and 8PM PST today (August 7th).

Once Crunchbits restocks these plans, they’ll post it on the thread over there.

I’d go ahead and check out the looking glass now because once these are gone, these are gone… and they’re clearly in demand.

The direct order link is available here.

In the meantime:

They have a giveaway going on in the thread that’s definitely worth checking out… that is, if you like free stuff, anyways.

Best of luck grabbing your very own “Raindog308 20k” VPS!

Update 8/8/23:

The restock has passed with hundreds selling out again.

It was quite an event with Crunchbits own site even crashing a few times.

If you’ve been around LEB/LET for a while, Crunchbits might still have a server for you.

Here’s what they said over on the thread this morning:

Firstly–thank you to everyone who has been patient, polite, and enjoying a pretty crazy true low end deal. That really is the majority of you, and we all at Crunchbits do appreciate it. It’s a lot of fun internally on the provider side to see things go crazy and a little bit of a pen-test/load-test in a way we normally would never encounter with our traditional/more premium products.

That being said, we’re further invoking #5 and the rules are changing:

If you didn’t have an active LET account prior to the creation of the OP, you won’t qualify*.

That’s it, this is for people who were already here and unfortunately this deal went way too wide and far and with that we’ve gotten more ticket spam, rudeness, and abuse in 24 hours than in multiple years combined. It’s still definitely a minority of the overall units sold, but not in the spirit of the sale. If we provide enough for all members here and have some unfilled capacity: great.

QoS updates

There is an on-going issue being chased down and squashed which was causing intermittent instability with one of the hypervisors. We’ve been able to completely test and rule out hardware and all underlying components. The final step is figuring out if it is intentional abuse or unintentional misuse. We’ve had a sysadmin on it for most of the evening, and things appear to have stabilized after some emergency maintenance windows.

Going forward, we’ll be doing whitelisted orders in which the manner has not yet been fully determined. Like I promised, everyone here (especially in different time zones) will get their chance.

*=at our discretion, we may make exceptions.

So, while the sale is technically over now, it doesn’t hurt to prowl the thread and keep an eye out for restocks until the tap is officially shut off.

Sir Foxy
