Top Providers 2013 Q2 Poll : The Results

I am happy to announce the Top Providers 2013 Q2 Poll’s results. Thank you to everybody who participated and congratulations to all of the hosts who received points! The full result table will be out in the next few days; so keep your eyes peeled. We send our commiserations to Prometeus for being dislodged from the top spot, but at the same time send our congratulations to RamNode for coming first! A bottle of something nice is on the way to help you celebrate, Nick ;-) Sorry for the delay in posting this! I had hoped to post last week, but I’ve not had any internet access (damn mountains).

First: RamNodeSecond: PrometeusThird: BuyVM
ramnode

Coming first, for the first time ever, is RamNode with 187 points! RamNode have reached the top spot after coming third and then second in our last two polls respectively.

  • 512MB Ram
  • 512MB vSwap
  • 2 CPU Cores
  • 20GB SSD Diskspace
  • 2000GB Bandwidth
  • 1 IPv4 + 16 IPv6
  • OpenVZ / SolusVM
  • $4.65 /month
  • Atlanta & Seattle
  • & Netherlands
Prometeus.net

In second place, with 132 Points, is Prometeus! Prometeus had won our last three polls, but with low stock, they couldn’t compete with RamNode this time round.

  • 512MB Ram
  • 2 CPU Cores
  • 25GB Diskspace
  • 2000GB Bandwidth
  • 1 IPv4 : /112 IPv6
  • KVM / SolusVM
  • €11.25 /3 months
  • Coupon: LEB2Q2013
  • Direct Signup
  • Milan, Italy.
BuyVM

Last but not least, in third place with 57 points, is BuyVM! BuyVM have featured in all of our previous top providers polls. No special coupons.

RamNode originally started off providing OpenVZ and KVM services from Atlanta, GA. But earlier this year, they expanded to Seattle, Washington; and in the past few weeks have entered the European market by setting up shop in the Netherlands. RamNode have never came first before. On the last poll they came second, and on the poll before that, they came third. What their customers say: Alonemrinal – “Amazing VPS and Nothing before this, ever made me feel like a ‘valuable’ customer.” Vemacs – “Ramnode, great I/O, great value (can safely vswap without I/O throttling), quick support (when you need it), great uptime even when attacked” Oxide – “RamNode = great performance, great uptime, and Nick seems like a knowledgeable and hard working fellow.”

Prometeus had won our last three Top Providers polls and had came within the top three for the last four polls. With ipv4 shortages, and the launch of a cloud platform, Prometeus have not had much stock for sale. Prometeus also operate the OVerZold and IperWeb brands. What their customers say: perennate – “most stable VPS I’ve had, and great performance all around.” badpatrick – “My first provider of VPS. Still with them today. No technical or billing issues ever. Smooth.”

BuyVM have appeared within the top three of all our previous top provider polls. BuyVM have been involved with the lowendbox community since 2009. They offer kvm, openvz and storage vps; in Las Vegas and Buffalo, NY. What their customers say: Ellimist – “Impeccable service and network. Like someone said, so stable, it’s actually boring”.

Thank you everyone once again! Like last time, Hostigation came fourth and EDIS 5th. We will be publishing the full table as soon as possible.

Congratulations all! About time Ramnode was ranked first…hopefully not the last time that happens.

WOWNUM1 is the 38% off coupon. If the previous ones are any indication, it will work on any Ramnode service you order. And do use my aff link :D

Click my name, that is. So that’s how that website field works… I must have confused LEB and LET. Click on a LET name and you get taken to their profile instead.

Also, Liam: you might want to update the Ramnode thumbnail, and put the paragraphs fully below the images :)

If you don’t like giving some random person $1 on the internet for free, don’t click on affiliate links. I for one like spreading good karma around.

Sorry! Post was done from my smartphone. My dongle has not yet been activated (after driving 50km to buy one)00. Signal is non-existent up here, and the only ASDL line in bay is currently down following a storm.

Congrats to the winners, I think it’s pretty clear that dedication and professionalism is valued highly even by low-end customers. It’s great for the consumer that the “You paid $5 for a VPS and you’re complaining that it’s down?” argument doesn’t really work anymore, and you guys are at the forefront of making this trend possible. Much thanks!

          What a terrible AUP !!!

Buyvm will extort money from over $25 if you type a wrong address or wrong real name (actually this kind of information they really don’t care).

If you don’t pay for it, they will cancel your account. I think this is not AUP but blackmail!

So stay away from this SCUM!

RamNode is very professional, whenever anything impacts their services even if it’s just for a short time they email affected customers (and they try to do it in advance). Most others at best post on some blog or Twitter. They are professional in tickets too.

Even without the SSD disks (not so necessary for most of my servers), the plans are great with the high bandwidth offers, low overselling (or at least get very consistent CPU performance on SVZ, not so much on cached). The biggest problem I’ve had with them was high pings to Europe (from Atlanta), but nowadays it actually seems to be lower despite using the same carriers; still, could use another upstream provider in Atlanta location.

Closed my account and would not even allow me

paying them with punctuality on time ever time !

When I mention that I would post to LowEndBox.com
