Looking to replace an old OpenVZ VPS 8192MB RAM (+ 8192MB vSwap) with 4 cores. Main reason is 100Mbps Port (and OpenVZ). Think it time to move on to KVM even if only 3 cores.
Does your 8GB (or 4GB for that matter) come with any swap?
Hi Susan,
We do not offer host node SWAP with our Linux plans, however, the coupon code provided is valid for larger plans on our website if you require more memory. You can also make a SWAP within your container which would use some of your disk space. We do not advise creating your own disk space swap because it will cause our SSDs to degrade over time.
I appreciate your consideration of our services.
Thanks,
Thank you for reply Tony.
Is there a way to contact you directly instead of discussing concerns here? Maybe open a ticket?
You can email me directly at: tony (-AT-) cheapwindowsvps.com
On KVM you set your own swap…
Are you able to or looking at offering Windows 2019 Standard and or Windows 2022 Standard Server?
Windows 2022 is in development. We anticipate this to be launched with our NVME offering sometime in the next 30 days.
If you’ll allow me to share my recent experiences:
I had both their 4Gb and 8Gb VPS’ since, I believe, Black Friday 2021. For some reason they installed both KVM instances on the same host node, but it didn’t really concern me, just as long as they worked. Actually, service was stable for the most part, until recently that is…
Found out a few days ago to find that both of my VPS were very very slow all of a sudden. Performing an ls -la command on both VPS’, for instance, took about ~10-seconds to complete – and any command more complex than that, even longer. Rebooted countless number of times, and then eventually ended up raising a support ticket.
Wait times are terrible for a high-priority response, and their actual responses not any better… I surmised a high IO/load issue, due both of my VPS were affected, but they kept insisting that they’ve increased my network speed that it should all be working; never anything more than that. Twice they apparently increased my network speed, and I kept going back saying that it hadn’t had any affect. I mean, why on earth would it? The most recent response is when I knew I couldn’t continue with this company – it was the most nonsensical reply saying that the hosts bandwidth is due to be reset on the first of every month which would fix the issue… 🤷♂️
I know, right!
Anyway, suffice it to say that my confidence in their support was forever lost, and I just couldn’t trust them to handle any critical data of mine. Cancelled my service as of this afternoon, and have already migrated to a new provider.
Sorry if I sound like a killjoy – all I’m saying is be careful if you need to rely on their support.
Hi sibbles,
Thank you for your comments and I apologize for any issues with our service. It is not our intention to provide bad services to our customers.
Our company is going through a refresh process now whereby we are switching nodes, base operating systems and adjusting load capacities. Some of the older CentOS 6 nodes had some issues with certain Windows templates which can cause speed issues which is why we shifted towards only offering Windows 2016 for the time being. Windows 2022 is currently being streamlined by our technicians and we anticipate this will be live soon.
There is no excuse for providing any customer with bad service and it is our intention to prove to you once again that we can host your server environments. I would like to offer you a few months of free service to give us another shot — if you could reach out to me directly at tony (-AT-) cheapwindowsvps.com I would gladly make that happen.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks
what cpu did you get?
I really really really want to jump on this offer, but after reading reviews online and here not sure I should.
Looking for a long-term home. Have some hosting companies over ten years but on old tech.
Maybe a 6 month trial?
Hi Susan,
We host thousands of VMs across hundreds of servers. The internet generally has more negative reviews than positive because those who are happy generally don’t leave reviews. We have an 8-year business history and for the most part, our service has been extremely reliable with limited cases of unhappy customers.
Unfortunately, a 6-month trial is not possible but I do wish you the best of luck finding a new host in the near future.
The coupon code 50off works. Waiting for the service changing the status from pending to online.
My service is still pending. Will open a ticket immediately.
I got a reply saying there was an IP address shortage for the Singapore node. I guess I’ll get the refund soon.
According to https://vpshostingservice.co/knowledgebase/1/How-long-does-it-take-to-fully-deploy-my-VPS.html, “It can take up to 15 minutes to fully deploy your VPS service. If you are having issues after 15 minutes, please contact support.”
This vps Can control sir?
