“DomainBop did a few words about his experience thus far.”

The few words are because it works and I haven’t experienced any problems (I’m currently using it as a DNS server). Performance is very good, network is good (especially to South America), support is fast, no downtime yet, no complaints.

Yesterday at VelociHOST we announced more power for the same low price. We’ve added more CPU Cores to all our KVM VPS packages. On our client area, we also asked to all our current loyal customers to send us a support ticket to get them upgraded to the new specifications. Thank you everyone for growing together.

I’m wondering something (not especially directed at VelociHOST): how is RAID 10 usually configured for SSD’s? I had always heard RAID doesn’t interact well with TRIM on SSD’s because the OS doesn’t properly map block numbers in the stripe set, to disk block numbers. Is there a fix for that now? Thanks.

    • It depends on the driver/firmware for hardware RAID. It is “possible” to pass TRIM. Depending on the SSD, garbage collection and other techniques might be enough also. Software RAID, at least mdadm should support TRIM these days already.

Thanks. If you can point me at any good docs or articles I’d appreciate it. This is for a large database server (not an LEB host) if that makes any difference.

    Hi,
Please, what’s the datacenter and location? Directadmin license price? Additional IP price?
    Thank you.

      Hi Israel,

We are located at Colohouse in Miami, FL, USA. Our upstream providers are Level3, Cogent and Internap. We do not provide Directadmin license at this time. We do offer additional IP addresses for the 1024-KVM and above packages for $2/month and prior justification.

They emailed me the password I used when I created my account in plain text. This wasn’t sent immediately, this was the next morning, which means they had to have stored it somewhere in plain text. They also didn’t provide a way to delete your own account, so I had to open a ticket to ask them to. I also let them know that I don’t do business with people who demonstrate insecure password handling. If you are concerned about security, keep looking.

    • Dear Customer,

Sending initial credentials through email for the client’s record is common practice within the industry. According to our records you registered for a client’s account on 10/05/2013 05:15 and your Welcome email -with initial credentials- was sent out the very same minute by our automatic system, not the next day as you stated. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you.
