Some readers here would remember Matt, the Managing Director at VooServers, whom rebooted some dead RackVM servers earlier this month to help former customers from that dead provider to rescue their files. Let me give a big thanks for that on behalf of affected LowEndBox readers/RackVM ex-users.
Initially they were only offering VPS to their enterprise customers as development servers, but after reading through posts after posts of dead providers on LowEndBox, Matt has decided to also offer some discount to LowEndBox readers to get into their niche market. They have been around since 2005 (incorporated Oct 2005 which you can find here), owns multiple racks and have their own IP block — so hopefully data will be safer with them. Use promo code LEB30 to get 30% off recurring discount. Their VPS starts at £3.15/month (USD$4.93/month) which comes with
- 128MB memory/256MB swap
- 10GB storage
- 200GB/month data transfer
- Xen
Direct order link here. Servers in Kent UK.

Can you please fix your AUP link, I found this link in your TOS and it leads to a 404 error, I dont want to sign up without seeing it :) http://www.vooservers.com/about/acceptable-use-policy.php
Thanks for the feature LEB!
@Joe: Thanks for the heads up. I am not sure why that’s not linking up but I have passed it on to our web developer as the website has had a major overhaul recently. If there is anything specific that you are looking to host please let me know in the mean time. Our AUP is pretty lenient and is there mainly to restrict illegal activity and spam.
@Joe, the link to the AUP should now be working.
Hey, great to see an offer from Matt, few questions
1) Node specs?
2) Is SolusVM available in this XEN? (not mentioned in the order page or the post)
3) How many cores or dedicated cores do I have?
4) Connection speed/port?
Do you allow IRC with these plans? AUP doesn’t mention. :)
@Asim:
1) Quad core 2.5GHz, 8GB RAM, RAID protected disk. We also have some dual quad core xeons on order with Dell that are expected soon.
2) Yes, all Linux VPSs are based on SolusVM
3) You would have access to 4 cores.
4) Connection is 100mbit.
@Mina:
Yes IRC is allowed.
If there are any other questions please let me know and I will be happy to help. None of our nodes are or ever will be oversold as our company policy does not believe in overselling.
Thanks Matt for the reply, appreciate it
Just to add as well as I have had a couple of e-mails the ‘LEB30’ promotional code will work for all of our VPS plans.
VAT is to be only payable if I’m .uk(which im not), right?
@Mina, VAT is applicable to most EU states. If you are outside of an applicable VAT state once you select your country and press update on the order form it should remove the VAT.
Do you allow torrenting? Would only be used for grabbing TV shows (Fringe etc) that are airing in the states and aren’t in the UK yet.
Just got the VPS immediately after payment (hence setups are automated).
Matt is very active in replying to emails and support tickets, seems like im doing an IM conversation with him :)
The price is amazing for a XEN VPS in UK. Highly recommended.
P.S. I am also an ex-RackVM customer and I really appreciate what Matt did for the LEB community. Keep up the good work Matt/VooServers
@Matt Parkinson
Is it intentional that the promo code does not apply to yearly payment schedule?
@RM, yes that is intentional as the yearly fee is discounted already as you only pay for 10 months however on review we should be able to apply it to the yearly fee as well otherwise it would work out more expensive. I will get back to you shortly once I have properly look into re-working the promotion for annual payments as well.
@RM, This has now been adjusted and the discount will now also apply to yearly payments.
Hi,
@Matt Parkinson
Can you please give us a Test IP/File?
@mrm2005: For test IP’s please use 91.216.93.44 which is our test VPS for creating and testing templates. Test files can be found at http://www.vooservers.com/kb/4/Do-you-have-a-speed-test-file-I-can-download.html.
If there is anything else you need please let me know and I will be happy to help.
@Matt Parkinson
Do you support PyGrub? (for loading custom Kernel)
@mrm2005, yes PyGrub is supported.
so if i get this package (128 MB) and someday i want to upgrade to higher package, will i get the same discount?
@romo, yes, that is not a problem.
Just to say, Matt is great and the servers are really fast and stable. If you are looking for that cheap VPS that will actually stay alive for more than a few months then these guys are what you need. They are well established so put your trust in them.
:)
I signed up for a 128MB . I have access to 4 cores of a Q8300 CPU , which is nice and the system speed is also very good.(Unixbench Score : 551 Single core, 1053 Multicore), not bad at all. Network speed is also good. Support answers my questions in less than 10 minutes,which is superb at this price. if they keep their service like this,i’ll stay with them.
Bought this to put in competition with a Xen VPS I have for roughly the same price with XenVZ.co.uk ,
Will be interesting to see which ends up being more stable :0
Setup on this VPS was instant and everything has been really smooth so far. Let the battle begin!
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I will ask Nick to pop by when he gets a chance to introduce himself as well.
Hi Guys,
Matts asked me to pop on here and say hello. I am one of the support technicians here at Vooservers and look forward to working with you if the need arises! If you need any questions answered then feel free to drop either me or Matt and email or visit our live chat and we will be happy to assist you! :)
can Reverse DNS be set?
(yes, some providers actually never set the Reverse even if you ask them)
If Yes, only over support/ticket or via SolusVM?
@Will, Yes RDNS can be set by submitting a support ticket as our RDNS entries are on a remote globally clustered DNS server which is also used for RDNS records for dedicated servers and co-location clients.
This probably seems like an odd question but are there any plans to offer servers with 384mb RAM for a price somewhere between the 256mb and the 512mb plans? I’ve come to the conclusion that this is the perfect amount for what I need and I’m real obsessive when it comes to being frugal (a.k.a cheapskate).
Any plan for Xen HVM? i would love to play with FreeBSD, and you guys seems solid.
@Craig, We can put together a custom package for you to suit your requirements if you want to shoot an e-mail over to sales[at]vooservers.com with exactly what you need.
@Adri, Xen HVM and also Windows Hyper-V is in the pipeline however our new nodes have been a little delayed as the Xeon processors we need are out of stock everywhere in the country so are coming direct from Intel.
@Matt Awesome, I guess I’ll wait until it’s available, hopefully it will have the same “LEB style” discount.
