LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

VPSBD - $4.50 128MB OpenVZ VPS in Seattle

VPSBD Via this WHT offer. VPSBD looks like another shared hosting business turning to the budget end of VPS hosting. Started as a shared hosting provider back in March/April this year, and for the last month they have also been selling VPS starting from $6. With coupon code life25 you get 25% off recurring discount which makes “VPSBasic” package $4.50/month. Here’s the sign up link, and you get

  • 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
  • 20GB storage
  • 100GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/Virtualizor

PayPal-only. Servers in Seattle WA with Sentris (test IP: 76.191.102.123). Quite a few problem with typical starter provider — no SSL on ordering pages, all NS on the same server, etc. Nor is pricing competitive however. Domain registered by “Jason” in January this year, with a team of 3 in the About Us page.

i happen to like the 404’d award image, $5/month unlimited disk space, lack of ssl, address listed is http://www.sacramentoconventioncenter.com/venues/exhibitHall/ (lol), and what appears to be a phone number that isn’t valid

oh, and the billing system is hosted non-securely on a shared server with hundreds of other sites? i can’t wait, sign me up plz

    > We offer the very best prices for registering domains.

Nonsense, the first few TLDs I tried were cheaper at namecheap.

The 25% off seems to work for all their VPS packages btw, but cheap or not I wouldn’t trust these guys with my money, they seem pretty clueless all round.

And they’ll be back in a few months complaining how their service has died or the company’s site is off line or any number of other problems.

And we’ll be pointing to these comments saying “We told you so.”

Only thing that’s missing now is the RLShosting irc crowd making distasteful comments about me.

“Told you so” doesn’t work with people though, look at people who suffer data loss due to drive failure or whatever. We’ve been banging on at them about backups for decades, and they still don’t bother.

But of course, we’re just being picky, or biased against these providers, right?

Correct spelling is free and requires nothing more than a spell checker. If a host can’t even manage that, what hope is there?

That’s not wrong, using a VPN to “browse the hole world” is code for what you to do access restricted porn sites while at work.

But yeah, their site’s a joke. They could’ve had it proofread for next to nothing by a native English speaker (no way these guys are native speakers, no way whatsoever) and then we’d have had much less to nitpick about.

    Hello all,

I read all the conversion, quite negative impression about us. Its quite not acceptable, I will clearly explain about our website.
Our website design was previously different, now we changed as to add new services into it. So, the website is not fully developed yet. I apologize for that mistake I did.
We are in this business from last 5 years, we were working with Duomarkets, and I guess everyone who dealing with web hosting knows what duomarkets history, no need to recall all.
We have completely separated and started with our own server at start of 2011. Even we are new still hosted many customer successfully, and all are happy with us. And form my side I assure you that you will get for what you pay. We have anytime money back guarantee! So, no need to worry for the services if anytime you feel that our service is not stable or acceptable to you just send us the cancellation request to us we will refund you for unused days. No cheating will done from our side, and as we are new, so we just need the customer satisfaction and trust for us to grow more. We want to earn reputation for our company not a negative marks for us.

    Thank you all!

You’ve been in business for 5 years and can’t get it together to get a website up and running?

not a negative marks for us.

Shouldn’t have sent in an offer to LEA then.

WHT and other forums offer space for reviews of websites. Would have taken 2 seconds to put up a request and had folks look at it. Then you wouldn’t have gone through all of this.

An aside to LEA and others. Maybe we should start doing website reviews over on LET. Heck I’ll go as far as making them as a requirement before any offer is posted but I don’t think you’ll go that far. Would clear up a lot of these offers from folks with sites with dozens of errors.

They didn’t realize that their website was in such sad shape?

Elvis and/or Bigfoot told them to do so?

They didn’t think it was important?

They don’t think much of the mental capacity of the typical LEB user?

I’d seriously question any review that gets posted about them anywhere. The WHT mods are already aware.

Oh that makes it OK then. No, wait. It really doesn’t. Giving your customers incentive to review you is just wrong, since for them to be able to make use of the incentive you have to be able to work out who they are. Since you can work out who they are, are they going to be honest, or will they sugar coat it?
