    • The domain was set-up A few days before business papers all went through. So we couldn’t legally obtain business status on domain registration, We will however contact OVH the provider of domain an speak about having the whois information transferred to the business details.

      Sorry for the confusion.

And personally we would say the datacenter’s in unusual locations are all run by close teams who value customers. Ensuring we can have constant close contact to resolve any issues, Rather than being a tadpole in a ocean.

Why does the order page say “CPU Cores 0.5”, while the offer on the LEB page is for “1 vCPU Core”?

    April 28, 2013 @ 5:55 pm | Reply
    • I imagine this is an accident on LEBs behalf as the 1GB VPS we provide is 1 core but the 0.5 is for the 512. The 0.5 for the 512 has been that way since its creation and has not been changed.I will get Simon to deal with this. Thanks.

      April 28, 2013 @ 6:04 pm | Reply
      • I can confirm that we do guarantee 0.5% of a core on the 512 package but one core is allocated.

        April 28, 2013 @ 6:10 pm | Reply
      • Correction, 1 VCore is provided as u can’t physically provide half a core, We half the usage % though, So 512MB package has 50% cpu usage while 1GB package has 100% cpu usage of that single core.

Both do have a single core attached.

I guess we will suffer high load all the time easily because of that “half core”, won’t we?

Let me stress this is not a configuration problem as there is no option to configure such templates they are pre-done by SolusVM if you can forward said email to us we will be able to tell exactly which notification email is showing wrong ip.

This is not a mis-configuration nor bad set-up, Purely a bug within SolusVM

      April 28, 2013 @ 8:09 pm | Reply
    • I can confirm where the bug has occured it’s due to our solusvm is run behind a reverse proxy so we can enable caching of more content rather than allowing apache to stress out handling loading of repeat images we did this as we cannot use a CDN network such as cloudflare for solusvm.

Your right it was a configuration error NOT with solusvm but merely with it picking up the reverse proxy in middle as the end user when infact it should be using Fowarding for check.

        • Yeah seems daft now posting that only to then discover was an issue with our set-up.

after talks with solusvm staff turned out to be an issue due to our unusual set-up behind reverse proxy’s, So SolusVM never added ability to grab real client’s ip.

Handled it though didn’t take us long to work out where going wrong an correct it, We all learn from mistakes :)

Although it wasn’t actually a SolusVM configuration issue as there is no configurable options for such problems, It was merely an overlooked adaption to solusvm.

    • Ping is purely by distance to server ping would increase, This does not reflect speed at all. HAving a 1ms ping woulnd’t mean a bullet fast speed, It would just mean its a server hosted on your ISP so very few hops needed.

I know that, but there are only 3000km between mi city and Chisinau, so the ping should be at maximum 70ms.

“Additional IPv6 are free of charge but require justification.”

Maybe just short correction regarding this part from post above – as I was actually curious. It’s incorrect. They stick with “max” 2 IPs per package posted in offer. Maybe the are afraid of IPv6 depletion and decided to keep millions or whatever IPv6 addresses they have hoarded for themself? Kind of funny and sort of unique restriction, but well… it’s still ok as long other things will work well :-)

    April 30, 2013 @ 12:07 am | Reply
    • We have the restrictions stated on the VPS product page but if you require more and have a genuine reason please open a support ticket and we will look into it for you. It’s mainly to prevent abuse.

      April 30, 2013 @ 9:56 am | Reply
    • And only the 512mb package is subject to no additional Ips, This is purely to prevent someone having 20 ips an deciding to try use the vps to sell email marketing per ip an ends up causing aload of abuse. We have experienced it hence the recent rules.

Theres drawbacks to doing a $1.75 offer an thats juggling abuse, Making sure we an’t giving an abuser loads of extras. IPv6 although in plenty supply, Still doesn’t mean its just given out 50 ip’s at a time is just.

A perfect real world example Person A – “I want to send mass email spam but want alot of ips to avoid blacklists” Person then email spams using ipv6 only an has arange of ips banned, We know Ipv4 if a certain number of ips in a range is banned whole range flags up, Due to size of ipv6 we hope that isn’t similar case.

But until we are fully confident on draw backs of such an useless an outdated protocol we will have restrictions. – P.S yeah i did say “Useless an outdated protocol” as it was invented back in the day an not has a way load of security issues an concerns surrounding it.

You need ip’s for legit reasons im sure we wont mind adding them to a 512MB package

They way you described issue it seems like you look at IPv6 from old IPv4 perspective. Get rid of that. IPv6 is not about number of addresses. /128 isn’t proper IPv6 allocation anyway as internet see /64 as one end user and it makes no difference between one and thousands /128 allocations to end users from this same /64 subnet. One /128 abused = complete /64 blacklisted as one end user allocation.

Regarding requestiong additional IPv6 addresses. I asked for some more. Explained why. It was refused. Fine. Ticket closed. I am not angry or anything like that and I still hope that I decided right to pick you as one od my hosts (time will tell…) it’s just… it seems that you don’t understand IPv6 concept, that’s why I responded here. Things with individual IPv6 simply don’t work the same as with individual IPv4 and proper IPv6 allocation would be subnet instead individual /128 addresses so there’s really no sense to limit clients so strictly with two or so /128 in case from some reason they request some more.

        April 30, 2013 @ 10:31 pm | Reply
        • Oh Sorry if it sounded like i ment due to ipv4 shortage im applying same theory to ipv6, It isn’t that its i worked in security game for years and ipv6 has cropped up an only times it pops up is another flaw being found, It has so many flaws in the protocol just giving out tons of ips to users would ensure most are used for spam and a lot more vulnerable points left open to hit.

But your right we should let the user decide on how widespread they want to use ipv6, So we have modified rules to allow more Ipv6 per package up to 10 for 512mb package. and up to 50 for 4gb package.

Thanks for your input regarding ipv6, My personal stand point on it is its a useless protocol with to many security issues for anyone to want to use it, Only reason industry is going into ipv6 is just purely due to shortages of ipv4 not due to ipv6 being any more stable or secure over ipv4. But personal stand points on a subject bare no relevance as customers know what they want we can only listen an try accommodate. :)

If you re-open old ticket we will have the new ips allocated.

      April 30, 2013 @ 10:11 pm | Reply
    • This was an issue which after we had logs of access to solusvm, User was using an anonymouse email service which could of been blocking some emails, Although some did appear which is unusual for all from same address some to not appear, We did check it out an personally provided login to user which we verified “Hense the login alert” Which was a login done to verify the account logs in completely fine, After user was screaming scam while we was trying to find why he is having issue when noone else was, Maybe Proxy Or some local services blocking certain ports such as our old solusvm port 5353, and demanded refund, We issued refunded an terminated service, Those client accounts with 0 active services are purged automatically. Hense why account was not found afterwards, User requested refund and we issued refund within minutes. Sorry if it was so fast processed that you assumed it was deleted for no reason. We would of welcomed working with client to fix issue and applying credit for time it takes to fix bug as an apology this was made clear in tickets if bug occurs we will fix and credit at minimum 1/2 of month of invoice if not whole month invoice.

Sorry for it to be abit of a confusion for you, When a client demands a refund, We tend to try respects clients wishes as we offer 72 refund policy as stated here on leb. So all we did was honor it an action refund without trying to badger user into staying. We feel user has end say in this matter an our action was just.

“User was using an anonymous email service which could of been blocking some emails, Although some did appear which is unusual for all from same address some to not appear”

I check the spam messages as well and they weren’t from their. Also the service blocks some of your emails but not all…?

“After user was screaming scam while we was trying to find why he is having issue when noone else was, Maybe Proxy Or some local services blocking certain ports such as our old solusvm port 5353, and demanded refund,”

I said no such thing, I said I want it to be up so I’m not being charged for not having any service at all. I was having issues because I never received any email about the account and because I couldn’t log in even after you linked to the appropriate page and gave me my credentials once more.

Then you deleted my account with no warning or notice. Is that how you do refunds? Not even an email or a support ticket update? Completely deleting an account so the user can’t even log in?

        May 1, 2013 @ 5:30 am | Reply
        • We confirmed the account worked fine so determined it was 100% an issue your end. We then issued you a refund extremely swiftly and you made it clear you would not be using us so as you had no services with us we terminated the account. If you have any additional concerns please open a ticket but if a user has no services with us after receiving a refund then yes, we can justify that for deleting your account as we were under the impression you would not be using it again. The 5353 port can be blocked by AVs sometimes etc. I don’t know all of the details but Simon seems to of covered it. I do appologize about you not being happy as for us it’s about the reputation and knowledge not the money which is why a $1 client gets treated the same as a $50 client. We jump when any client says jump and we help as much as we can.

          Kind Regards,

As we completed over 100 sales and gained a further 4 server nodes in the process we have not continued this coupon as it was for April as per the LEB-APRIL indicator. Overall our boxes are solid and use i7 etc we also never ever oversell and constantly buy fresh nodes instead of overselling (one of our main selling points). Support wise, we aim to answer that fast constantly. Most are answered within minutes as if we are online ‘properly’ which is about 20+ hours a day then we answer within minutes or at most 1hr as you have experienced as we have multiple support staff.
