We know We Love Servers from their big bang-for-buck offers with a focus on annual deals. They’ve done some quite interesting deals before, especially in the UK. Their support is a bit hit-or-miss for some people, but at this price point one may think that that’s acceptable. Host nodes run dual Intel Xeon E5-2620 CPUs, 128GB of RAM, and hard drives in RAID10. rDNS is available from within SolusVM, though I’m not sure if that’s for both IPv4 and IPv6. If you are currently a customer with We Love Servers: we look forward to hearing from you how these boxes perform!

PayPay, credit cards, and bitcoins are accepted for payments. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional IPv4 are $1.60/month. VPN servers, adult content, and IRC are allowed as long as they are legal in the US. P2P/Torrents are not allowed. For all the details, please refer to their Terms of Service.

You get what you pay for with WLS – which is to say, not very much. I’ve had to file a support ticket for downtime almost every month in the 1.5 years I’ve had my VPS with them. This month was the final straw, and I finally bit the bullet and started moving everything to a box with a new provider. I was experiencing *severe* packet loss for the better part of a day before my VPS went down completely. Support was reasonably quick in terms of latency but they never quite had an explanation for what was happening.

Yes, had to agree with you. My vps was down due to node abuse and they never seem to like to provide the reason until you keep pestering them why. Small issue – they settle fast but issue like abuse, they tend to put you on hold what they play ‘cat and mouse’

Had a 512 vps with them over a year. Uptime was good, pingdom even reported 100% in certain months. However, my both my vps is down for last 3 days. They are slow in replies in such case and no explanation given if their server/node was the problem or my vps. They just replied ‘contact NOC to reboot’ twice for both incidents. They did replied cannot find any log that my vps is abusing and asked me monitor myself. But I laterally gave up and came lowendbox to write this when they suspended a fresh vps (i didn’t even add user or any service yet).

I will still stay with them as I still have funding left but i already moved a critical site to ramnode. They are still 1 of the power budget vps around but definitely not for important sites (IMO)

They are good for tesing and experimentation on a tight budget. If you value VPS up-time or your time trying to have Support comprehends your complaint, look elsewhere. Last 4 quarters were dismal in general, but last 4 weeks were surprisingly good. As the admin said – hit or miss.

  12. Tom:

I’ve been using their service for a week now and the experience is that the server so far seems to work OK and no problems at all. However, the customer service is appalling!

As rosso said, if you value your time trying to have support then look elsewhere. It could take you an entire day (or more!)to have your problems solved, whereas with other cheap VPS providers (posted here in leb) you can get the same problem solved in a matter of couple of hours and sometimes even minutes!.

The weloveservers customer service people don’t seem to read your messages carefully and might even give you answers that don’t make any sense.

Every time that I have to -sadly- contact customer service I have to take a deep breath and get ready for what is going to happen next.

I will keep updating the in case there’s any improvement or change.

200% agree with you. Their tech support like to reply template answers. But their support manger Mathew is exceptional. If your ticket got escalated to him, you be well into a good treat.

      • Nick O:

That’s if they actually escalate it for you. I’ve requested tickets be escalated time and time again, only to receive another useless reply from their support staff. Even tickets titled “FOR MANAGEMENT ONLY”, with warnings at the top and bottom of the ticket DEMANDING the ticket be escalated to management wasn’t enough. Moral of the story, this company is a dumpster fire. They shouldn’t be allowed to advertise on LEB.

Be wary of weloveservers, do some research on their random suspend practices. Paid for a whole year and it got suspended after 40 days, zero warnings, zero notices. Here’s the strange part, I never even had a chance to use the box!

Asked for a refund but they can’t do it beyond the 30 day guarantee, how convenient.
Asked to have the service reinstalled, nope… can’t unsuspend due to unavailable resources.

Support is abysmal, just cookie cutter responses “Hi, no can do. Thanks.”

You’ve been warned, stay away from weloveservers, theyhatecustomers.

Stay well away from these guys unless you want outages every other day. Support staff is a awful on a level I’ve never seen before. If you submit an outage ticket, all you’ll get in response is “now it is fixed” with no indication of why it went offline, let alone what was done to make sure it doesn’t happen again. For some odd reason, you’ll also randomly lose SSH access requiring you to create a serial console session or root password reset in your SolusVM panel to get back in. This would happen every other week. Never had this issue before with any other provider.

What’s funny is I was actually a BIG supporter of this company (I had 6 different VPS servers with them), recommended them to my friends on the daily, until 3 out of 6 of my servers on two different nodes started getting outages MULTIPLE times a day for almost two weeks straight despite being told everything would be fixed momentarily. They eventually disabled one of those nodes permanently, without any notice to me or even a network issue listed on their site. I lost everything on two of my servers. Gone. In hindsight, it’s honestly no surprise. They outsell the crap out of their hardware to no end with outrageous promotions that in the long run do nothing but attract abusers.

If you’re planning on using it as VPN or test server, they’re probably fine but for your own sanity and mental well-being do not use them for anything approaching a production environment. “You pay for what you get” could not be more applicable to this company.

    • Chris:

I’ve used them for over 1.5 years with very little trouble. Recently, however, I had an issue and, as many have stated, the support was horrid. They support tickets are signed with names like Joe or Steve (changed to protect the inept) yet the person behind the name has very little grasp of the English language. Ask a question and you’ll likely get “It’s fixed now” without your question even being acknowledged.

All that said, I’m paying very little for my servers and I’ll likely keep using WLS. For the things I do I just cannot justify paying 8-10x per year for a comparable box.

I can only repeat what other people have said, stay away from WLS.

I have been a customer for 2 years, my server won’t get uptime greater than 7-14 days because they always reboot it for whatever reason. Support is quick to respond, but they never tell you why (“technical issue”) and they don’t communicate these things through email or even on their status pages.

Wow, it seems I am not the only one. I have used WLS for a while and have a number of services with them (mainly at the prices they provide you don’t expect much in the way of support but a reasonable standard of hardware availability.

    This has been the case…..generally)

Until the last 2 days, I got a VPS which is showing a ‘Supermicro IPMI login’ EVEN when the VPS is powered down(see http://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/IPMI.cfm) and despite going into details regarding the details the support has been a set of screen shots showing me the login page I have referred to and standard responses like:

"your server is responding to ping and SSH"

after telling them I had powered down the machine & cleared cache etc and still saw the error I got..

"Now I have booted up your VPS"
"I presume the issue is with your local machine"

< despite me using 3/4 different machines/browsers and IP addresses to verify the issue….
even my bloody phone on 3g

Anyway I have dealt with Matt in the past and he has always been rather good/helpful. I only ever took WLS deals to learn and experiment they are in now way mission critical but even small amounts soon add up.

I am currently awaiting a response on the same issue which is now ongoing for 3 days and it’s frustrating especially when you know a little about VPS, Linux Networking and DNS etc to be given support responses that are the equivalent of ‘Computer says no’ and ‘Have you tried turning it off and back on again’

Over all if any SENIOR WLS servers staff are reading this they should be very concerned about the drop in confidence from LET & LEB communities as I would like to think we have some influence on potential customer sign ups.

I’ll keep you posted, and I may even ask others here to confirm the issues I am having, then if needed I can at least get the frustration off my chest.

    As ever 0)

I ordered a WLS UK VPS a month ago and unfortunately didn’t scroll down to the bottom of the comments.

The performance was abysmal and there were frequent downtimes of a freshly installed server. Support response times were good but they didn’t actually help me. They always claimed they fixed the problem with the node but the situation didn’t improve.

In their refund policy they claim they acknowledge when there is an issue with their service but they didn’t do that when I requested a refund after trying to get a somewhat usable VPS for days. So my experience with WLS is that I paid a year in advance for nothing.

I have to add me to the list of dissatisfied customers, both for the many problems (suspension of servers, unreachable, continuous reboot) and especially for the poor support: no explanation, just copy and paste pre-constructed sentences, response times extremely long ticket also for the only taking charge, no excuse for poor service. Unfortunately they are all annual plans, but I’m giving the cancellation of all my VPS server. I prefer to spend my money with the most reliable providers

    STAY AWAY FROM WELOVESERVERS, THEY-HATE-CUSTOMERS!

    August 18, 2015 @ 7:30 am | Reply
  28. Well I’ll share my experience about their reseller hosting.

I have more than 40 reseller accounts with different hosters, where I host my and my clients’ sites.

Among those hosters, I call Weloveservers the worst one. I have two accounts with them. Often times something crashes, something gets broken, something gets down. Yes eventually they fix everything, but why do I need these problems, why do I need to spend my time on writings with their support, and why do my clients need to suffer those downtimes?

Among those 40+ hosters, at more than a half of them I don’t even know their support exist. Just because nothing ever gets broken, that’s why. People just work and their servers are working.

Here are only a few of my tickets with Weloveservers for a recent time, you can see what I’m forced to spend my time for:

    Ticket #405822

Me: I can’t add Package nor Account in my WHM.

WLS: I have given the re seller privilege to your account in WHM.

    Ticket #923425

Me: My site *** doesn’t open, although opens with www.

WLS: The issue has been sorted.

    View Ticket #211780

Me: I can’t login to *** site. Neither /wp-admin nor /wp-login. The site itself seems to be working.

WLS: The issue is sorted now.

    Ticket #638024

    (After server migration)

Me: Now i have Error establishing a database connection on all my sites.

WLS: Seems you have updated name-servers now. Please wait for 24 hours for global propagation. **(!!!)

Me: DNS have obviously propagated, otherwise how could the database error ever show up? **(quite obvious, no?)

WLS: The issue has been sorted now.

    Ticket #842462

Me: No site nor WHM opens at this server.

WLS: We are working on this issue with our NOC and it will be fine in few minutes.

    Ticket #607078

Me: My site *** doesn’t work.

WLS: DB issue resolved and your domain is loading fine now.

    Ticket #695116

    Me: i have 508 on *** .

WLS: I have resolved the issue.

    Ticket #249247

Me: I can’t access WHM nor cpanel. Nor from the client area.

WLS: We have seen network outage in our DC, it has been resolved.

I just don’t get it. If you provide hosting, why do you have these ridiculous bugs all the time? No one of 40+ my other hosters has them nearly in that scale, if ever.

And the last straw was when they have put both my accounts on one server with same IP’s. I tried to call upon their support’ logic – what a point to sell two reseller hostings on the same IP’s? Reseller means I would re-sell it to my clients; how could I explain to my clients why two servers are on the same IP’s, and why any client would ever need this? I asked this twice, with no any reasonable answer.

I just have enough. Well I don’t know if Weloveservers really like their servers; but they certainly don’t like their clients.
