LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Web24 - 1024MB & 2048MB Windows 2012 6 Month offer in Melbourne, Australia

UPDATE: Web24 has informed us that this promotion has now been sold out.

Lincoln, from Web24, emailed us a week or so ago to tell us about the launch of their Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V servers.

Personal

  • 1024MB Dedicated RAM
  • 20GB Raid 10 Diskspace
  • 1 vCPU Core
  • 50GB Bandwidth
  • 20Mbit Port Speed
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • Hyper-V
  • Coupon: “tryhyperv”
  • $0.50/Month – Order Link
  • Location: Melbourne, Australia.
WebApp

  • 2048MB Dedicated RAM
  • 40GB Raid 10 Diskspace
  • 1 vCPU Core

  • 20Mbit Port Speed
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • Hyper-V
  • Coupon: “tryhyperv”
  • $1.00/Month – Order Link
  • Location: Melbourne, Australia.

N.B The above prices are valid for the first 6 months, then they’ll revert back to the normal, non LowEnd, monthly prices of $14.95 and $29.95 respectively.

Web24 were founded in 2008 and are a registered company in Australia (Web24 Group Pty Ltd). I was in two minds about posting this one, as this offer is only within LowEndBox’s price point for 6 months. However as it’s in a rare location (Australia) and is for Windows Sever 2012; I thought we should post it. This offer is limited to 1000 users, and has been posted on other websites – so there’s about 500 left. You can get an extra 100GB bandwidth for free, when signing up, as you can get 50GB per referral (max 2 refs). Limit of 1 Per Person.

If you’re located in Australia, you will have to pay GST, so the personal plan will be $0.55 for Australian residents and for the WebApp plan it will be $1.10 for Australian residents per month. Severs have 8x 15K RPM SAS2 disks in RAID 10. Visa, MasterCard, PayPal (inc Bank deposit, Visa, MC and AMEX), AUD Cheques and direct deposit are all accepted payment methods. They offer a 30-day money back guarantee for new accounts, as per their refund policy. Gaming servers and Adult content are not permitted. More information can be found In their Terms of Service.

Network Information:

Severs are located in a Fujitsu Tier 3 Datacenter in Melbourne, Australia.

Test IPv4: 111.67.24.12

Won’t be getting this (my interest in windows is for a game server, and Australia = haha no), but I’d like to see more impressively priced windows competition :)

I have ordered one from them when they posted at WHT. The server is excellent. Support is within hours but mostly minutes.

Great network speed. Just Australia, the ping is little longer.

      Good and bad points for web24 ;

I tried the 6 month trial and have mixed feelings about this host. The Support was not so good and if you are serious about using this VPS for business I would look elsewhere. There is no way of restarting your VPS if/when it mysteriously goes offline. If your VPS fails During the Weekend then you may/will be waiting for the next workday to resolve any issues.

Hopefully it does not go down during long weekend. Or your services will be suspended for a long time until resolved.

there will be times when you can’t access your remote system and will have to just try again later. If this time elapses for any long period of time then you will need to call and resolve.

being Windows Hyper-V most of the HDD Space 30GB is already used by the OS.. the excess space (if any) slowly gets taken away by good old windows Updates.

The VPS needs to restart almost on a weekly basis to install updates, I can’t remember if it auto starts any/all applications (startmenu) on restart or if it awaits user (admin) to login before doing so.

I believe that it is a “dedicated” or “average” port speed (node port speed/no. of users), not actual node speed… Even down under our internet network isn’t that slow!

I just changed my picture to Nicolas Cage, another good option. Seems weird that I’m from Melbourne and they still ask me for ID though…

Never actually considered this, but I’ll do that now when I need to send it in.

I’m not sure why they really do need photo ID and not just a more basic ID check.

I am also being fraud verification for using dummy details. Wanted us to submit photo id or copy of credit card.

I would not trust this my personal information with the hosting company.

This is bullshit . Why on earth would leb post non recurring offers? Are you serious?

    December 13, 2012 @ 8:20 am | Reply

I disagree. LEB posted a great 6 month recurring offer from a serious company. It is a huge opportunity to learn Windows 2012.

BTW a lot of LEB “hosting companies” disappearead few months after posting their “life” offers.

So basically these guys politely told me to get F#@$ after sending my photo ID. I offered to call and send a uncensored ID but they still refused. I can’t imagine what their tech support would be like if a problem occurred.

This provider seems to be pretty bad actually. My order was put into fraud-screening as well, which i understand would be normal for an offer like this, however they have yet to answer my ticket nor charge my card. I have put in a ticket to have my order canceled and account deleted.

    Stay away!

    • Hi MassGrav. Sorry about the delay you’ve experienced. Our sales team operates at full rate during East Australian business hours. Orders that I have tried to search our ticket queue to find your enquiry but can’t seem to find any reference to the name “massgrav”. Can you please shoot across another response to the ticket so that I can “connect the dots”.
