Community provider Hivelocity shared a video announcement on LowEndTalk to tease their upcoming VPS launch (see below).
If you’re not familiar with HV, they’ve offered great deals on dedicated servers to our community for a long time. Some examples:
- E3-1230 v6 3.5GHz Kaby Lake, 32GB DDR4, 480GB SSD, 20TB/1Gbps, Tampa, Atlanta, NYC, Dallas, LA, & Miami Data Centers, $62/month
- E-2136 3.3GHz Coffee Lake, 64GB DDR4, 480GB SSD, 20TB/1Gbps, Tampa, NYC, Seattle, Chicago & LA Data Centers, $99/month
Now they’re moving into the VPS market.
What prices? What specs? What host nodes? We don’t know!
But some hints have been teased:
- $4/month for the entry price point, with “some specials for this community” 👍
- 3 US locations…which cities are not officially confirmed but they have some tests going on in LA so (my opinion) that location is likely one of the three

They used to have a VPS brand years ago called Sparknode (https://www.hivelocity.net/blog/hivelocity-launches-cloud-specialty-site-sparknode-com/). Interesting that they’re launching a new VPS lineup. I wonder what they’re doing differently this time.
