  1. Their network’s great here. But I’m worried if they’re overselling their XEN nodes like their OpenVZ nodes. Will have a try.

新年快乐! Happy new year to you all!

My VPS was moved and it seemed to be fine now (total 15gb… 11gb free).

Now if i could only maintain a stable vnc/rdp connection (keeps freezing after few mins), it would be perfect :-/

You wouldn’t be able to fit 2008 in 15GB of space. Even if you can you wouldn’t be able to install anything on it.

    • For those who love challenges I guess. Running Windows 2003 on 512MB running IIS and a few sites might be even harder than running Linux on 256MB.

      February 3, 2011 @ 7:25 am | Reply
      • Daniel @ LowEndTalk.com:

No, it will be EXTREMELY harder then running Linux on a 64MB VPS. The VPS your LowEndBox.com can probably run more dynamic sites then Windows with 512MB RAM,

If you run linux with apache and mysql on 256 MBIT its Hard to run yes also if yiu try to run IIS with win2k3 on 512 mb but if you know the tricks it works like a charm e.g Nginx for windows instead of IIS
ok mysql would bhe still a problem but some light website would run…

        • Daniel @ LowEndTalk.com:

Sorry Jim, but Linux with Apache on a 256MB VPS is super easy to run, this blog runs on 64MB of RAM.

NGINX on Windows does deceive the point. I got a 512MB VPS here running Windows. I just installed IIS, I now have 30MB of RAM to play with, on Linux with 256MB ram VPS I would get around 200MB of RAM to play with at least.

        • Jim Snow:

Well install nginx kill unneeded services und have some more ram to play with

      I disagree.
IMHO all VPSs should be considered, hopefully over time we’ll get more ram/resources for the same or lower price (as the cost of RAM/resources becomes cheaper).

It’s also good for learning about Windows administration and testing.

I would normally agree with you but it has its uses. E.g It’s good for .Net, Mono on Linux is not as mature..yet. Also Active Directory, etc.

It’s good for learning and running windows-only software.
I dont think people expect to run twitter/facebook/youtube type websites on these “Low End” boxes.

I just signed up and my VPS isn’t working, logging into the control panel and using the VNC it was having a disk error, so I went to re-install the OS. I came back a few minutes later and the SolusVM server/control panel is now down too. I can’t access anything.

    Not impressed.

Just wanted to add some more comments.

I couldn’t access my VPS through remote desktop. I had to use the VNC through SolusVM instead which is why it was so hard to deal with SolusVM being down.

Now I know why. My server isn’t directly connected to the internet. It doesn’t have an IP address, I can only access it by going through the SolusVM control panel VNC.

When I try to get an IP address, it times out.

So I have a VPS that isn’t directly connected to the internet.

      Not impressed.

  52. Elisabeth:

    Hello friends.

Again I’m here to give my freedback on another hosting company, today will speak of yardvps.

I had a client who needed Windows, I currently work with Securedspeed, UBservers, and others, but they do not have Windows Host, so I had to do a search on windows VPS host, and found the yardvps.

I read the description of services, then, as my client was in a hurry to get your account, because they prefer to be informed instant setup, see in the image below:
    http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-I1Bn6Cbmh-Q/T-yD8yZrjvI/AAAAAAAAAGg/rKU5yQlcmn4/s754/instant.JPG

So I made the purchase with them, waited 30 minutes and not getting the VPS, I contacted the chat, they said the delay was due to Paypal account verification (anti fraud), we found my account in the chat, and confirm my Paypal account, I thought I would get the VPS after that, but Ron chat attendant told me I would have to wait another 1-2 hours due to the configuration of VPS.

But it is not instant? Why wait this time? It would be false advertisement?

Below my conversation with them, look and give your opinion I’m still waiting for the VPS account with them, two hours have passed so far.

    Quote:
    Ron
Hello custumer. How may I help you?

    me
    hi friend

I made the payment he was confirmed but not yet get my VPS, the instant setup?

    Ron
Please allow 1-3 hours for VPS setup as we manually process orders due to recent increase of internet fraud.

    me
So why do you say it’s instant setup in the ad?

    Ron
    It is instant setup.

If your order is fraud, it will not be instant setup

    me
I’m in a hurry and it was instant VPS setup that I hire your service

    Ron
Sorry if your order triggers fraud alert, it can take longer to verify

    me
Then you can return and cancel the purchase? I actually got in a hurry to get the VPS

    Ron
PLease submit a ticket to support@yardvps.com if you want to cancel your order

    me
This is false advertising, you should say about the period of check fraud in the notice

    Ron
Orders that pass fraud check are setup instantly

    me
I want immediately, as I said, I hurry, I can not waste time sending ticket, you want to talk to my lawyer about false advertising? Simply reimburse the amount by Paypal I hire service instant real

    Ron
If your order doesn’t pass fraud check, we check it until its verified

    me
Why did not you warn about fraud prevention within the description of your service?

    Ron
If you are not fraud ,you should not have to worry about your order being delayed

    Only fraud orders are delayed

Orders that are not fraud are setup instantly

    me
    You do not understand

I work as a reseller VPS here in Brazil, I have a client in need of VPS as soon as possible

    Ron
If you want to cancel, please email support@yardvps.com and we will cancel your order

    me
How can I confirm my account as soon as possible?

    Ron
Sorry I don’t have access to billing or support.

    I am just sales

    me
How can I confirm my account as soon as possible?

    Ron
You can email support@yardvps.com and they will assist you

    me
I still have to wait for the response of the ticket? You think it’s cool fool customers with instant setup?

    Ron
If you are a reseller and you want to remove the fraud option, please notify the billing department and we will make sure to process your ordres with high priority

    me
I’ll wait 1-3 hours, but make sure that if I did not get my VPS to this term, I will send your advertisement to my lawyer and will sue you for false advertising, I see that it is not instant setup needs to be checked by Paypal, you should say so in the service description

    Ron
If your order triggers a fraud alert, we have full right to check your order.

If you want to go to your lawyer, you are welcome to do that.

    me
I work with securedspeed, UBservers, VPScheap and never had these problems, just chose you because of Windows, but I’m regretting

    Ron
As I stated above, when an order triggers a fraud alert, we have to investigate.

    me
You should have an automated fraud prevention, that is right for one company

    Ron
If we approve every order, it can lead to spam and abuse on the n etwork

I don’t have access to billing or support, so I am not sure why your order is taking that long.

    me
Yes, and you can prove that the fraud alert? How can you prove it?

Do you want a print of my account? Address?

    Ron
I never said your order triggered a fraud alert.

I am saying the delay is usually related to fraud alert

The delay only takes place when the order comes in that is considered risky

When its deemed risky, we investigate at our end before we process it.

We are not going to risk our whole network by allowing a fraud order to get through and spam using our IP’s.

If you have any questions or comments about your order, please contact support@yardvps.com

If you are a reseller with a lot of VPS, the billing department will make sure your orders don’t go through fraud check each time.

They will set it up so your orders are processed right away.

    me
His message came to my spam box, I think you’re doing it wrong, or are trying to fool me

And because you do not have an automated fraud prevention system and other companies that work?

    Ron
What message went to your spam box?

    me
So why do you say it’s instant VPS for new customers? Why do not you talk about the time of verification in the ad? You know you can be sued for it does not know? false advertising

Your welcome message came to my spam box

    Ron
It is instant if your order doesn’t trigger a fraud alert

    me
Yes, and the reason for the alert? Can you prove it?

    Ron
Not everyone is fraud, so they get their VPS instantly

Do you have your VPS now? YES OR NO?

    me
    Still not got your VPS

    Will it take long?

    Ron

Onces it’s ready you will be notified

You can check it at https://ww…om/billing/clientarea.php

    me

    Ron
Our VPS takes about 1-2 hours to come online.

    There is a queue

    me
    I see

    Ron
The setup process to copy and setup vps takes some time

They are not done in 5 minutes

The OS installation alone takes some time

If you placed order 30 minutes ago, you need to wait

The VPS is probably in build mode and once it’s ready the system will notify you

    me
So why do you say instant setup?

Why not report on this term in the ad?

    Ron
If you want to cancel, please submit a ticket to our support department and we will stop the setup process.

Instant means once the order comes in, the system starts working on it

    me
You affect me with this delay, I bought thinking it was time to give myself and now I see it’s false propaganda

    Ron
We manage close to 15,000 IP’s and you are the first person who is confused about instant

    me
    I will not cancel

    Ron
    Instant doesn’t mean 5 minutes

It’s impossible to install OS in 5 minutes

If you are able to do it in few minutes, please let us know. You can email us at support@yardvps.com and we would love to know if you can install the OS in few minutes.

Plus we do test to make sure VPS is setup properly.

We get 1000+ orders per day

The system will not create them all at once. The reason because it can lead to data corruption.

Therefore, they are created in a blocks automatically.

Again if you are not happy, please submit a ticket and we will cancel your vps.

    me
I’m confused because buying and reviewing VPS Securedspeed, VPSCheap, UBservers and more, and they say give me time and delivery

I will not cancel the VPS, because I can use it for another client

    Ron
Our VPS are instant. The setup range from 15 min – few hours.

    me
I’m just saying that instant setup is instant setup, you know they can be prosecuted for this, first you said it was checking Paypal, and now you say it

    Ron
It all depends on how many orders we have

If you want to file a lawsuit, please do so.

We have been in business for years and there is nothing false.

This is how our system is setup and it is fully automated.

    me
You say it’s instant when it is not fake?

    Ron
Maybe the companies you use are small and they don’t get many orders so they are able to create vps right away.

We get 1000+ orders per day and the system does it’s best to create them autoamtically right away without making mistakes

    me
Yes, they may be small, but they do what they say

    Ron
They do it because they don’t have many orders

If 1 order comes in, the vps will be only in 15 minutes

    me
I have no interest in order to know how many you have, just wanted to get the VPS described in the notice within

    Ron
Like I said daily we are getting around 1000+ orders

    per day

    me
I have no interest in order to know how many you have, just wanted to get the VPS described in the notice within

    Ron
It’s because you are implying we are doing false advertising.

    me
For just bought because he said he gave instant, but that’s okay, I leave this for another client VPS

    Ron
Like I said, if you are not happy just cancel your order.

We will cancel it right away

We have 1000+ happy clients and we offer the best prices possible on the net.

    me
You say it’s instant and do not deliver instant is not fake? This is what then? You just said it takes 1 to 2 hours

    Ron
Can you create a vps in few minutes?

Do you know what instant means in the world of VPS?

    me
As I said before, no need to cancel, and I will not sue you because I will not waste my time with it, I will just tell the web hosting sites on their propaganda only this

    Ron
    No please do sue

    me
I work with other companies and they deliver in instant

    Ron
I just told you they are small

They don’t have any orders so yes they are able to do it right away

    me
that’s what I’m talking about if you take a few hours because they put instant setup on your ad?

    Ron
No VPS OS will create 100+ vps at the same time

It is instant. If we don’t have any pending order, your VPS will be only in 15-30 minutes

    me
So why do not you say in your ad?

    Ron
Should I ask billing to cancel your order?

    me
What is instant VPS for you?

    Ron
I am trying my best to explain it to you but you are trying to argue with me.

    Our setup process is instant.

When the order comes in, the system does checks and places it in queue

Afterwards, the main node goes through the queue and create the vps and sends welcome email automatically

There are no humans involved in this process.

    me
No problem friend, it’s all OK, I’ll leave this VPS for my other client, and I will buy another in a really small company to get instant

    I will wait

    Ron

    Hello

See me in the Chat blocked, it seems they want me to steal my money without delivering the VPS:
    http://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-QIDetEyrJmE/T-yNk47lIFI/AAAAAAAAAG0/qdxLZ3Dx-Ws/s912/chat.JPG

If you spent more than two hours after confirmation of payment and fraud prevention Paypal and still not get my VPS.

I hope that they are become rich and make good take advantage of my $ 9, I’ll tell the world about the horrible company and that the cheater is yardvps.com.

If I open a dispute on Paypal will lose because Paypal does not refund money from virtual goods.
