Chris from Avante Hosting has sent us a nice collection of KVM and XEN plans that are available on new E3-1230 Version 2’s. We are really pleased to be seeing first time hosts to LowEndBox offering more than just OpenVZ’s and the following plans are no exception.
KVM/XEN Plastic VPS | KVM/XEN Tin VPS |
Avante Hosting own all of their equipment and colocate with HostDime in Florida. All nodes now consist of E3-1230 Version 2’s, Raid10 with 1Gbit connections to each node. They currently peer with Tiscali, Level3, Savvis and Global Crossing via a 10Gbit backbone. IPV6 is currently not offered however Chris informs us it is coming as soon as Arin approves their /32 IPv6 subnet. You can order up to an additional 10 IPv4 for your VPS at $2/IP up to 10, beyond 10 you will need to submit a ticket and justify the use.
Payment via Paypal, Liberty Reserve and Credit Card is accepted and covered by a 3 day refund policy. Wire/Bank transfer for orders over $100 can also be arranged however you must cover the bank fees associated with the transfers. They run an EV SSL on their main website and are a registered Canadian company operating out of Toronto Ontario, Canada.

Hey it seems you guys don’t have Debian 6 32-bit available (only 64-bit). Is it possible for you guys to put that on there?

Due to the amount of sign ups disk i/o has very low the last 24 hours.
If it stays like this we will go ahead and upgrade disks.
Thanks
Pretty awesome deal..Got the plastic KVM and setup was instant.. is Xen is still popular? would people choose Xen over Kvm considering its the same price?
Looks good , Might get one.
Also picked one up, seems really fast and great so far.
But agree with above, would be nice to have 32 bit OS choices.
Anyone knows the number (or some link) about their inc. ?
Also, I can’t find a direct link to the ToS until I order
I wonder if chris actually knows he has been listed yet :)
I just saw this :)
We will add 32 bit OS ASAP.
For speedtests we strongly recommend using
wget –output-document=/dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip
This one will start off slowly but will ramp up to 80-100M/s
Each server should get full Gbit throughput.
nLayer will be added to our mix Monday
https://avantehosting.net/tos.php
We have an EV SSL which obviously means we are a legal company we also have DNB.
http://dnbexpress.ca
DNB #: 248493566
Thanks for the info.
Wondering why “Banro Corporation” and “Vequitas” have the same address o_O lol
We rent space from them,
The whole office would be 30K/monthly..
Unfortunately that’s not in our budget.
WTF 30k
No words…
I know, ridiculous.
I love the new review styles btw.
Very good services. :))
32 Bit Templates added for Xen & KVM.
It wont show up on the order page now, but once you order you can change the OS in the SolusVM Control Panel
Thanks
32bit is in your master solus panel, you have to deploy them to clients’ solus panel.
that’s why clients can’t see it, you may have.
That’s been fixed sorry!
still there is no 32bit in cd rom.
32 Bit is there I confirmed.
can i use for IRC ?
Yes IRC allowed.
Thanks
Last time I checked HostDime do not allow IRC!
It’s right in the TOS.
Hostdime has a hard enough time keeping their network online from the 30k pps DDOS attacks that own them. The last thing they need is someone going on #trivia at efnet and getting a multi gbit UDP flood.
Francisco
There also breaking HostDimes policies on IP usage too…..interesting to say the least.
Why don’t you get your facts straight before coming in here.
1. We run our own network so HD TOS doesn’t matter
2. We can handle an attack with no problem.
They don’t allow IRC because a regular server getting a multiple GBIT flood would affect other servers.
We have a 10Gbit port to their core and we have transport down to MIA for nLayer and future Cogent.
http://whois.arin.net/rest/asn/AS36137/pft
Fyi, you shouldn’t bash a provider that’s around 100x bigger than you. (HD)
We allow anything that is legal.
Thanks
I can bash a provider I’ve used in the past if they’re garbage.
I don’t talk out of my ass, I talk from experience :) If hostdime had 60Gbit, then a 100,000 pps UDP flood wouldn’t rip their whole network offline like it has done many many times.
If you have 60Gbit you wouldn’t care about IRC because you have so much capacity that a couple gbit flood isn’t a big deal. 10Gbit floods are rare, trust me, I know because we work in the filtering business.
Good work on the ARIN’s, it’s always better to advertise that on a sales post than upstream providers IP’s
Besides, they’re sitting at just under 50,000 IP addresses. We’re sitting at 20k with another /19 on the way so they aren’t quite 100x bigger than us :)
Francisco
I’m not going to speak for HostDime, but we’ve had multiple 15G attacks in the past and their network was fine
I laugh how you think IP addresses qualifies as size.
Why don’t you keep playing with your 90 BuyVM nodes while they play with thousands.
As for myself, we’re only in the hundreds.
If you’d like to discuss this further I’d prefer to take this off LEB.
Thanks
Avantehosting
BuyVM
May only have 90 Nodes but IO is 100x better.
Jack,
I told you due to the amount of OS installations going on at once the disk i/o was going to be sub-par.
It should be 100+ now.
And if it isn’t we will simply upgrade to 8 x 500GB SATA
Same thing I told someone on IRC.
Francisco
I just found this about HostDime
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showpost.php?p=2562626&postcount=2
Bit odd..
Exactly why we can speak about it :)
It was fine for the first 3 – 4 months then we left.
We decided to not post a review about things since we had a friend that worked there so I didn’t want to make things nasty.
Francisco
Im backing up Fran on this one, I have heard nothing but bad news about HD.
As for your “hundreds of nodes” doubtful, or prove it. Im still curious about our discussion on IRC.
How would you like me to prove this?
Many people are aware we have more than 100 nodes running Minecraft alone.
Proof sir or it doesn’t exist.
You have to have some type of monitoring program such as Pingdom or control panel that lists all nodes like in Solus or TcAdmin. Its not hard to find out this info if it is true and takes literally 2 minutes to screen shot something or link to pingdom reports.
He doesn’t wanna share that
http://status.avantehosting.net/
We use Zabbix..
I’ll setup Pingdom soon.
Our first priority is rDNS
I have to go with Chris and Fran on this one too, had a terrible experience with HostDime ourselves, this is from first hand experience. The network cannot handle a DDoS attack for s*** and always has issues.
I use your kvm ,it’s very good,I really like your performance and price
We have our own IPs.
Not from HostDime but from ARIN.
I’d appreciate if you did something other than bash us.
Link the ARIN entry then to back it up.
Francisco

Can I host beastality on your VPS? I just love me some man on horse
HostDime are a fairly reputable company,
I agree.
We’ve had no problems with them and highly recommend them!
I will admit in this case regarding some aspects of AvanteHosting I may have been wrong.
Last time i checked, LowEndTalk still online.. can we go there and keep this page clean? :D
32 bit cdrom images not showing up, but maybe Im just impatient. ;)
Its showing up in the panel but not in the order system yet..
Submit a ticket if its not showing up please
Thanks
Wow, too cheap!
;)
Its affordable for everyone
Bought one , Not sure what I will use it for but hey I can’t say no at the price.
rDNS control be added in the next 24-48 hours
Thank you
Avante doesn’t actually have a 10GBit backend, they lie.
you lie..
We do actually.
20Gbit as of Monday. (Tomorrow)
Which one is better?
Xen or KVM?
KVM is for a more advanced user.
You install the OS yourself with .isos provided
You set partitioning
With Xen you click the OS you want to install and it will do the install for you.
You cannot change partitioning.
That’s the big difference between the two.
Thank you for the answer :)
I already have XEN ( PV and HVM) and also KVM from another provider. Just want to ask, which one is better :)
Because with KVM, I have to do many optimization and reduce the memory :D
I think maybe Xen is the way to go if it’s like OVZ where it’s template based reinstalls.. I got the 128mb KVM and the netinstalls chews a lot of bandwidth, tried to install Debian with desktop, the install failed but used up 1 Gb of bandwidth in the process..
ahh, so I am not upload a specific version of OpenBSD just the ones they provide? hmm never did a remote upgrade, sounds fun.
Haven’t you heard of Xen HVM?
Ah okay.
Its mostly preference based.
Thanks
My VPS wont boot.
Is it KVM or Xen?
If its KVM have you installed the OS?
Yes I know I have to but it should be ‘online’ for the install.
and it wont boot with CentOS 5 Selected as a mounted CD.
This is not a support forum Jack.
I’m looking into this regardless.
Can I host beastality on your VPS? I just love me some man on horse?
We allow anything legal
Thanks
Its illegal in my home country of Russia, what about here in the big United states of the Americas?
Sorry we will not allow this on our servers.
If you allow beastality on your server, I will ask my money back..
Want the URL to my site? It is wonderful.
I want the link to @Jath’s site.
Hmm looks GREAT
And it is too :)

KVM node offline
No it’s not
http://i.imgur.com/eRXex.jpg
i.imgur.com/eRXex.jpg
Yes it is, I just got provisioned 30 minutes ago and nothing works – VNC console or SSH
Did you install the OS?
I can’t post an imgur link here, but USA-ORL-KVM-2 is truely offline, and can’t boot, same as Jack @http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/avante-hosting-6half-yearly-128mb-kvm-or-xen-in-florida-usa/#comment-74023
USA-ORL-KVM-1 is ok.
then you should’ve said KVM-2 or KVN-1.
KVM-2
It is not offline?
View Ticket #319816
It’s offline, and I can’t install OS, I think.
You’ve shifted to kvm 1, but I can’t find this service on SolusVM.
Please check it, thanks.
Mine is offline too (same network 199.195.*.*).
so cheap !
The KVM for USA-ORL-KVM-1 don’t seem like working.
Try to install OS but gave out the below errors.
child_rip+0xa/0x20
kernel_init+0x0/0x2f9
Log a ticket but after hours yet to solve the problem.
Anyone can help?
that’s not a problem, centos needs more ram. You have small package.
If you using KVM with 128 RAM, you can’t install centos. This only OS that can install under 128 RAM is Debian.
If you need centos, then I think you need to ask the supplier to temp increase the ram to 256. It rans find at 128 RAM.
The “Copper” offer (512MB RAM @ $4 USD/mo) looks really nice EXCEPT for the bandwidth/month … 250GB/mo???
I would have jumped on at least one (or even more of those) but when compared to (for example):
Prometeus: 512MB RAM, 3TB/mo bandwidth for $5.36 USD (after coupon code recently posted on LEB)
FlipperHost: 512MB RAM, 1500GB/mo bandwidth for $4.99 USD (recently posted on LEB)
Even though they cost more, to me, it is worth the $0.99/mo to $1.37/mo to get that much more bandwidth … .just in case.
I’ll have to pass.
Chris has a history of being an asshole, I feel sorry for @Francisco.
You guys should do some history checks…Chris is generally a liar, an asshole, and not a nice person to deal with.
http://www.hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=1731312 (tons of stuff on the scum of the earth hackforums)
http://www.avantehostinglies.com/
which unfortunately is unreadable.. but these guys have a dirty history and I wouldn’t touch them with a 10foot pole.
And.. I’ve been a customer, so I can say from experience : RUN.
Hi PAD,
What service did you have with them?
I cant go on any of them links. I don’t want to register for HF, and I don’t have an invite to the blog.
Back up for me.
That was posted by another hosting company fyi.
We’ve went through all this before on our MC forum.
Why do you want client to grant you a “free” license of their content?
Can you explain your cancellation policy? Your TOS doesn’t mention anything about service termination rights of client.
Can you elaborate this?
Hmm.. So after we sign up you can use our name and identity. Isn’t it invasion of Privacy?
Your offer is good. But there are too many things in your TOS that I don’t like.
Hello,
For 9.5 , we may use your name in a review if you provide us with a blurb of text.
Or lets say in a ticket you say “great service, I will recommend to all my friends” that may be used.
For the rest I went over with my team and we have changed a few things
Thank you for your concern regarding this
Thanks for the update.
Still I find clause 8.2 in your TOS is unclear. Your TOS should clearly mention how a client can initiate cancellation of their service.
Its under clause 4.5 Refund Policy
Thanks
Stay away from avante, they have way to many shady things going on.
Like what?
KEM works beautifully, no downtime, fast, way to go!
Sounds like more established providers are butthurt that they’re being undercut. From a consumer’s point of view, nom nom nom…
totally agree.
Anyone who was on KVM 2 was shifted to KVM 1 and is online
KVM 2 had a problem with libvirt that prevented VPS from starting.
We had to preform an OS re-install.
Luckily no VPS OS were installed.
Thanks
Em…but I can’t find this on VPS control panel. Did you forget it?
any one have KVM-Silver 2GB RAM
How much core on 2GB RAM VPS
You get 2 cores.
Thanks
any package have 4 cores ?
On the 4GB package yes.
Its $32.00/monthly
Thanks
Wish they would fix the 32bit isos, they are not available in the solusvm I’m logging into. Unless Im missing something.
Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/YqCD0.jpg
I have all 32bits available, installed, working perfect!
Submit a ticket please.
Thanks
A ticket was submitted and exact response was “There is 32 bit Isos”.
yes, there are 32bits, what’s your problem?
Not sure why I cant reply to the John response below, but look at my screenshot, all the isos are 64 bit (well, maybe except Freebsd)
What good is it to submit a ticket when they get ignored?
Hi Chris
Can we install windows?
If you can’t install CentOS with 128MB of RAM, take a guess if Windows would install.
I’ve done Windows Server 2003 on 128MB before, no problems with the install and runs just as well as 2008 on a 256MB.
Yes you can.
XP can take 64MB but 128GB recommended.
Not sure for the others off the top of my head.
We will add XP, Windows, Windows Server Standard soon.
Thanks
How much is the 128GB Plan?
Sorry 128MB recommended.
We don’t sell 128GB unfortunately..
FreeBSD 9 works excellently (ZFS root) on 128-KVM. as long as you don’t pick optional packages (i didn’t need them) you won’t run into problems (in particular, I think it was ports causing it to throw up, but you can easily install that afterwards)
Plz View Ticket #948344
Thx.
rDNS is fully working in SolusVM now
Thanks
Plz view ticket #948344
Thx.
I buy one Copper VPS((Xen PV) in USA-ORL-XEN-1, Working fine, and quick response too. :))
Disk i/O
Speed
Try using Softlayers test file you’ll get a better result.
wget –output-document=/dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip
Due to the poor disk i/o speeds on KVM-1 we have decided to upgrade KVM-1 and Xen-1.
We are going to preform disk upgrades on USA-ORL-KVM-1 and USA-ORL-XEN-1 at 5:00PM E.S.T.
We usually give 24-48 hours notice but the results from disk i/o tests are not in the acceptable range, so we classify this as emergency maintenance.
Thank you!
Mass email would be nice.
An email was sent by one of our staff
Thanks
Is it over now?
Yes, it was crawling…
Just installed windows xp on 128 mb kvm. Fully working =P
They have windows XP image now? I don’t see this in solusvm?
given you have kvm, you don’t need them to give you the cd image, that’s the beauty of it.
he has a post on his blog about it, you could do it other ways as well but that way is excellent as well: http://anejd.com/613.html
Definitely a good tutorial!! I seldom click on user’s links anymore had a couple of incidents that set off my antivirus, but for what it’s worth if the windows image is not in solusvm I don’t bother trying to install it since some providers forbid windows..
We will add the .iso very soon!
Thanks
Since the past 6 hours or so i got this SSH still doesn’t work, opened support ticket and got “Hello, please try now”….still not working :/
Well…
Had the server for 2 days ~
It’s been down like 4 times and had packetloss 24/7.
I’m not sure what you’re talking about
We’ve had zero downtime, and we’ve had no packetloss.
I agree with Chris, no downtime, no packet loss.
Just some providers are jealous about price..I think.
Yup mine has been pretty good from day one!! tempted to get a couple more but since they are a new provider maybe I will wait a while see how they do..
Thanks for the nice comments!
We have been around for one year but yes we are new to the LEB market.
Thanks
It has been down. My Openstatus says its been down yet other services haven’t.
It’s been fully down atleast twice and probably packetloss for the other time.
We’ve had no downtime.
Our internal monitoring system has said nothing about downtime.
There has also been no packet loss.
Okay , you admitted you were in the wrong via Skype so Okay I’ll let you off.
I have been moved to a new KVM node hopefully it will run better.
Can we switch between XEN/KVM down the road if we change our minds? Not talking about changing every day or anything:-)
I also like to know how many times if any we can switch between KVM and XEN with the plastic VPS since I want to use a 32bit OS and in the order page only can select among 64bit images.
If I choose XEN then couldn’t install my own image and prefer to not have to do a netinstall with KVM.
Thanks.
SSH still not working, infact nothing works thu the vps is online….its pretty much useless to me now.
Please submit a ticket if this is the case.
A lot of the time people buy KVM and think the OS is installed already.
We’ve now made it clear in the welcome email you need to do it yourself.
Thanks
Am I the only one having trouble accessing their website?
they sent email saying they’re upgrading, geez, wait..
Excuse me? Would you please be so kind, and explain how I am supposed to receive an email from something I am not even a part of? That’s some pretty flawed logic there buddy… geez!
Even if they issued an email, it stated their VPS’ would be upgraded due to I/O issues at 5pm yesterday. So, defend why their VPS’ are still functioning, while their website is not–nearly a full day later.
We actually had a server issue due to litespeed web server.. again.
Its back up now.
Try NGINX :)
I find with a solid configuration it works really nicely.
But what about the “DDoS protection” litespeed provides?
hahahahahahahaha!
It wasn’t a DDOS, their license server went wack on our licenses.
So it showed our licenses as suspended/not valid.
I know but litespeed offers ‘DDoS protection’ according to their site.
Apache would sometimes crash when being DDOS’d
Our experience with Litespeed is that doesn’t do that and our website loads faster with Litespeed.
Don’t waste money on so called “DDoS protection”, there is no such thing..
Don’t expect much in the way of support from these guys, it seems their method of dealing with support tickets is to silently close them–because that always works.
Yup
I wish i could order one of these, but alas, the buttons on your order page are broken on every browser i try?
Worked fine for me in Fx, earlier today.
Just checked. All working with no issues at all.
Something on your PC/Network causing the issue perhaps?
Same here, not working on any browser + iPad + multiple locations/networks.
It was working yesterday :(
This was fixed earlier today sorry!
We just preformed an emergency reboot on KVM-3.
The CPU usage was extremely high due to power saving settings in effect.
The CPU was running at 1.2Ghz.
We are very sorry for the unexpected outage.
Thanks for the email in advance ie 10 mins to keep a backup of things , this hosting gets better and better.
THANKS…
Wow, $12/year Xen VPS.
Really?
Yes :)
Great deal !
Yeah but with all the down time it’s like you’re only getting 6 months :-)
Hi Chris,
Would you consider to support Vyatta 6.4 32bit iso on your KVM plan? Thanks.
Jeremy,
If you’d like we can add it
Thanks
ticket #190477
Hi, Chris
I just paid my invoice for a xen 128 vps.
But the invoice status is still unpaid.
Hello,
Can you please submit a ticket
Thanks
why did you close the ticket?
ticket #190477
I thnik you have a bug in your whmcs, I heard it from some other providers.
It automatically closes, better check it out.
Anyway, everything is squared away.
thanks.
I have submitted a ticket but it was closed. I don’t know why.
My Xen 128 VPS is still unavailable.
I have sent a mail to your support email and provided the sale receipt.
I hope I can get my VPS soon.
Thanks, Chirs.
Thanks, Chris.
Finally I got my 128 Xen VPS.
Here is my UnixBench result for Xen 128 VPS. Is it good enough for a Xen 128 VPS?
there are big problem with vps and bad support.
I brought a vps($4/month) since some days ago , and found I can not install any OS via vnc, after then I contact support for this ,but they always not fix out this ,just said in-process. it is over 4 days!!!
Now , I submit a refund and cancel account ticket , just waiting and watch how long they will handle my ticket .
The support very bad. I am happy I not pay one year for this hosting company .
I agree with you completely, they ignored my ticket completely and simply closed it.
Hello,
We do not close it intentionally.
This issue is now fixed.
Thanks
Hi, Chris
Ticket #536114
Please check
I have xen and kvm, both of them works like a charm.
Way to go chris…
Thanks,
We are going to be adding new features very soon!
so far so good
Hi,
yum install make
yum install gcc
yum install rpm-build.x86_64 openldap-devel.x86_64 pam-devel.x86_64 openssl-devel.x86_64 libgssapi- devel.x86_64 -y
rpmbuild –rebuild ss5-3.8.9-2.src.rpm
after this one it just get stuck in :
gcc -g -O2 -DLINUX -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -I . -I ../include -c -o SS5Main. o SS5Main.c
gcc -g -O2 -DLINUX -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -I . -I ../include -c -o SS5Core. o SS5Core.c
please solve this issue or let me know how to do it , I do have another centos vps on LusoVPS running this without any problems.

Hello,
We apologize. The last reply was to another user. We could see that it gets stuck in the step you mentioned. I think this could due to less RAM memory.
Thanks

Hi,
My problem is not solved. please refund the amount that I have paid for the VPS.

Hello,
Issue is due to low RAM memory. It is not the issue in the server.
Thanks

Client 18/07/2012 07:56
what do u mean by that ? your server has problem . Im using 128 mb vps on LusoVPS , how come 128 mb cant handle such a simple command,
please refund the money I have paid for this trouble.
So ????????????????
If this is Xen, their centos does not work, use Debian, it works perfect with less memory.
if this is KVM, 128 won’t work for centos, install debian.
256 won’t work in KVM for Centos either, I think min is 384meg for the installer to run.
256 should work with netinstall, install bare minimum.
You can actually use the text installer and it will work.
Thanks
you’re running make on a 128mB vps? lolnt
Oh my gooooooood……..!!!!
I like this service, COOLLL !!!
“AVANTE ROCK”
Thanks!
We hope you enjoy your VPS :)
Hey chris, would you check #735589 ?
Hi, Chris
Ticket #905121
Please check
I can’t install OS. I choose CDRom(Windows Server 2003),but VNC show:
‘Booting from CD-Rom…
523MB medium detected
CDROM boot failure code :0004
Boot faild:could not read the boot disk’.
Please check it. Thank you very much!
Same thing here. WinXP, Win2003, Win2008 ISO all missing NT loader. Only Win7 64-bit is bootable. But it is Home Premium ! Only found out after spent all the time installing it. And Home Premium does not suppor RDP! Thank you, but that’s not what I need.
Avante should really label the version instead of just Windows 2003, Windows 2008.
Now I have to wait to see how long they fix this.
Hello,
Its very odd what occurred..
We added the .iso’s
They worked, now they don’t.
One of our staff members will look into this in the next 24 hours.
Thank you
would you check ticket #735589 ?
Chris, how’s the ISO progress?
Would I be able to boot and install Windows 2003?
Thanks.
Chris, Do you planing to add the opensolaris/smart os or other os based on the solaris stuff?
Thank you.
Hello,
We can if you request it
Thank you
WinXP, Win2003, Win2008 ISO all missing NT loader. how long you can add the .iso’s? I have to wait 2 days.
Chris,
I’ve bought the Plastic vps and try I/O.
This’s my other VPS same configuration as Plastic VPS for testing:
root@head:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=tmp bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 23.8349 s, 45.0 MB/s
Is Plastic VPS, why is a small I/O?
root@us:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=tmp bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 151.75 s, 7.1 MB/s
Thank you.
this is $1 vps, what did you expect?
Just intersting :)
Is this KVM or Xen?
I will look into this
Thanks
Is KVM.
Do you have Virtio set?
Thanks
Sure, I’ve use virtio.
Please submit a ticket, we cannot assist further on here.
nLayer has been added to our BGP!
With nLayer we can deliver content to users with less latency (MS)
Thanks
Purchased.
Bought the Tin XEN a few days ago. It was very slow for the first day but it got better after that. Support has a good turn around. So far no down time. For $24/yr this is a pretty good deal.
Did the xen vps support to setup PPTP VPN and OpenVPN VPN Server?
So is the Windows ISO booing problem solved? It’s been 3 days…
We have added Windows 7 Ultimate .iso’s
But the Windows server iso’s are still boot issues..
We are working to resolve this
Thanks
Cool. Would you please inform me when you have it solved?
Thanks.
Yes I will.
Thanks
Well for the 2nd time in as many days i am having probs with my vps being unreachable and no response from the ticket being filled ober 9 hours ago..
Guess theer just out to take youir money and provide no support. Guess i will file a claim to get this sorted.
There is no reported problems so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
There is no reason to file a claim.
You can email me directly: chris@avantehosting.net
Ordered yesterday: VPS provisioned fast, works fine, everything’s good. But where are the Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 ISOs? They’ve been available yesterday but they didn’t boot.
Can u load offense iso on the 128mb KVM?
Does somebody know the VNC Port. :D ?
Chris,
I’m looking for a 768MB KVM can you do that?
Native IPv6 has been added.
You will get 10 IPv6 IPs when you buy a VPS!
Thanks
Could be possible to add ipv6 to existing VPS?
Yes we can do 768MB KVM.
Please submit a ticket, email sales@avantehosting.net
Thanks
is KVN-2 down? It’s been down all day long.
Don’t forget they only have a 99% Guarenteed Network Uptime.
99% uptime = 14.4 minutes/day or 1.7 hours/week or 7.2 hours/month or 3.65 days/year
But even if had been off still didn’t get tha ipv6 added. :/
How does one add ipv6 to their vps? Nothing in the control panel. (and its still amazing my control panel still has no 32 bit isos.. lol)
Please submit a ticket and we will fix both of those issues
Thanks
Woohoo awesome! Thanks for adding them so quickly just after aubmitting the ticket asking for them. You rock!
I also would want to add ipv6 to my existing VPS but can’t find how to do it.
My control panel has all these isos available although in the order page only 64bit ones are shown.
Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/PUYlM.png
@Stefan: You can check the actual parameters pressing the VNC button in the control panel and clicking in the “View Connection Settings” link.
They changed the VNC host address but seems that didn’t send email informing about it.
Interesting screenshot luxor, Im on kvm-3, and still shows up like http://i.imgur.com/YqCD0.jpg (except Im now on kvm-3 for some reason).
bandwidth allocation is too small, at least 1TB/month
Check their site. They have the Silver VPS KVM XEN with 1000GB Bandwidth/month.
Their support is terrible, my VPS has more than 2 hours outage and counting up without any response in their support. Very lack of support.
The ticket id: #673114
We received a large amount of tickets last night, we are sorry for the delay.
All tickets are responded to in 24 hours.
Though if we know its down it doesn’t help to submit a ticket.
Thanks
SCM pointed that with the 99% guaranteed uptime can have up to 7.2 hours/month down.
In my particular case and for what I paid only can say the same than Fry ;)
LOL. A certificate for the VPS Control Panel site only 6 weeks old has just expired?
Or someone is trying a man-in-the-middle attack against the VPS aacounts?
Wow! They fixed it inmediately.
We are offering a promotion for the next 24 hours on IP addresses.
Each additional is now $.50/monthly
After you place an order please submit a ticket and we will adjust the invoice.
Thanks
If you were hoping to run a VPN… note that geolocation services seem to think the VPS is in Toronto, Canada rather than Florida. That’s a pity as it seems to work well otherwise.
Just to warn everybody that VNC/API/Control panel access is broken since the past friday in KVM-2 at least due to lack of connectivity. :(
You will be stuck if you power down your VM because you won’t be able to re/boot it. :(
And also don’t get mad like me if can’t get ipv6 to work even having ipv6 addresses assigned since 2 weeks ago since ipv6 connectivity still has not been enabled in KVM-2. :(
I asked them to send an email with info about the issues to the users of the affected nodes so that they could avoid them.
Woot! Seems that VNC is working again. :)
No it’s not, has been dead for the past 3 days, going for 4 days…
I’m not sure what you’re talking about?
Send me an email chris@avantehosting.net
Thanks
sent email, nothing happens, still offline, a small update would be appreciated.
Today is 5th straight days of offline, I don’t know what’s going on.
6th day of offline, no ticket reply.
John: VNC is working for me for KVM-2 since my last post although I normally just ssh to the VM.
Also they changed the VNC host IP about 3 weeks ago that keept me puzzled for a while but I assume that you checked the control panel page VNC info that for me gives the right parameters.
Still the API and Control Panel seems lacking connectivity though.
My vns is dead, i.p is null routed, so can’t do anything.
the said they had to re-create the box 2 days ago, now they said they don’t have “FREE” space to allocate even though this is PAID account.
It’s been a whole week of downtime, or vps is gone…..
yep, kvm 2 has been down for two days by now. they said they were going to move the server to dallas.
no ticket reply, no response. how awful.
My VPS now down for nearly two days.
Maybe they didn’t pay for their 20Gbit commit from hostdime.
Francisco
Maybe they got 30k+ pps DDOS attack as you stated ^ and took there whole network down so Hostdime wants them to leave.
Lol. Love it!
I guess they really did get the boot or why would all the services be down?
CVPS Chris , I guess you really like Avantehosting?
No Im laughing really hard at the whole situation
We have 10G from HostDime and 10G from nLayer
Still 10x better than 2 x 1G on a vyatta :x
Actual servers from them get Canadian IPs!
Actual servers from them get Canadian IPs!
Actual servers from them get Canadian IPs!
I asked them a month ago about the Canadian IP address on my server.
They said they are going to look into. Havent heard anything useful back from them since.
Just ask them to SWIP the IP to a US address for you.
If that was a possibility i would imagine that they would have moved me by now.
Are any servers back online again (after the move)?
No sign of mine yet….. 36 hours and counting….
Still no sign of vps, or response to tickets. Had a quick look at their sites.

‘accomplished team of experienced professionals’ – no they aren’t.
‘a superior hosting service’ – no it isn’t.
However – ‘We strive’ – they could try a little harder perhaps.
‘ become a market leader by consistently exceeding our Customer’s expectations.’ – That’s not going so well is it.
Thats terrible, I know we wouldnt allow that ;-)
Another provider,
Kindly stay off this thread.
You need to attend to your oversold $7/2GB RAM VZ nodes :x.
They are not oversold, nice try though…. maybe you should worry about the downtime ;-)
His attempt to bad mouth you… kinda failed.
I was about to buy a VPS from Avante until I read this comment. A bit of banter from the guy you are hosting with in understandable, but some of Chris’s comments here are childish and unprofessional. If a company does not take customer service and public relations seriously then they should probably be avoided.
Still nothing.
Ticket finally got a response
Hello,
We are still moving the servers. We apologize for the long delay. We are working as fast as we can. We will announce via mail.
Thanks
-Avante Hosting Support
I’m not holding my breath at this point.
Avante Hosting looks like a strong contender for the September dead pool list.
I doubt it , I haven’t seen a provider deadpool with there own Hardware / IPS yet
I’m pretty sure we’ve seen someone with their own gear deadpool before. They didn’t pay their bills and the DC jacked it.
I know it happened to VPSByte.
Francisco
Not even close.
We are not using HostDime for LA/Dallas/NYC.
We are going to have our own cage in all three locations.
FYI: We are moving our VPS to Dallas as we are not happy with the uptime our Florida location has been having lately.
There’s no need to be rude Jack & Francisco, easy to see the anger of being undercut :x.
I wonder if Chris actually responds to this ?
I have been in Dallas for the last week and returned yesterday,
I will be keeping up to date with this.
Within 45 days you can open a PayPal claim. We should let them know we are not happy.
I’ve given up and got a new VPS from LFC.
Last tweet from them two days ago
@AvanteHosting
The Dallas move has been delayed for all services due to an unexpected network complication.
How much service are they moving to Dallas? Just a few broken nodes? or the whole location?
All VPS’s one’s I think.
He said in IRC about starting LA and NY and Dallas.
Why not fix Florida first?
It sounds like they’ll be using dimebag still for DAL/LA?
Fran
He said the VPS’s are online in FL but Clearly not with amount of clients saying different on this post :)
Not to sure , He said 111 8th Avenue in NY do Hostdime use them?
I dunno they offered me service in NY for free to ‘prove they arent as shitty as they once were!’ but I turned it down. Instead I asked for my $500 back but they refuse to go over that tender little detail.
Now where’s that hostdime rap….
Francisco
I’m sorry that you had issues and it caused you to move providers, I’m sure we can work something out.
Kindly email me , chris@avantehosting.net
No thanks, I’ve submitted a cancel ticket.
Wouldn’t use you again if you paid me.
OK sad to hear that.
Maybe we can do business again in the future.
We are investigating issues with KVM-2.
Any clients who were on KVM-2, kindly submit a ticket under the billing tab and we will credit you one payment cycle.
KVM-2 is online now.
Thanks
Yep, I can confirm that my VPS is UP. But, I’ve already given up and got a new VPS too.
I still have one and a half month left though.
I must admit that the server is great, but their support is the worst, 7 days of downtime.
I mostly agree, for the price and configuration is awesome despite the downtime, although only can see it was a bit over 5 days. API graph
Hope than now they moved will be better. :)
That’s kind of nonsense Chris.
I submitted a ticket to your Billing Department asking for what you offered and Guess what, another idle ticket created by you.
That isn’t something urgent, isn’t it? I’d let them a couple of days at least. ;)
I got a free month despite that the total outage time has been greater than the allowed for the full payment cycle of 6 months. So a $1 credit I guess, LOL although I think that it’s fair anyway if not happens again.
It’s not shown in the Account Credit Balance nor can’t find where is registered but hope that won’t need to remember them about it in january if forget.
“We have provided you one month free offer.”
Not sure why’d you want a free month even, I got my invoice today for a VPS I haven’t been able to use for a month, we’ll see if I’ll be paying that…
SolusVM hasn’t responded to any commands in quite a long time, since before the move, when I submit a ticket about it I’ll get a reply like “We’re looking into this and will update you”, and that’s all that ever comes of it. I guess they’re not interested in their VPS clients anymore, hope minecraft pays their bills.
Well, they told me the same just like what they did to you.
My VPS is pretty much dead now as it’s still not responding the SolusVm commands and I need to reinstall the OS. Don’t know if it happens to other clients as well.
Yes, same here. Web Control Panel nor API commands/stats are updating. :(
VPS/vnc are running fine though. But still router advertisement ipv6 prefix announcements are being served from a local link address and is not working.
Personally I’m quite happy with my VPS and having a free month for the past outage seems fair for me. Hope that they could fix all these issues soon since certainly make one feel a bit uneasy.
If you can reboot your VPS (not shutdown or you will be stuck!) and thru vnc not sure if you could do a pxe netinstall with HTTP boot (or from NFS or iSCSI target on another of your machines) with this setup but may be a bit tricky.
Seemed like a good deal however, site goes down for days and no response from support. I guess you get what you pay for.
Our site has not been down?
As said in a previous post we are unhappy with the quality of our service in Florida.
Which is why we are moving it to Dallas.
It seems a lot of people buy the smallest plan and run bitcoin miners, this is now NOT allowed on our servers.
Bitcoin miners or anything of the sort is not allowed.
I know I didn’t pay a lot of money but regardless, I pre-paid for 6 months and my VPS has been down for over a week. You can defend yourselves all you want but I have an open support ticket that has been ignored. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. I am patient and not expecting things to get fixed over night but this is just crazy
Your website goes down for days at a time. My Node USA-ORL-XEN-2 has been down for over an hour now.
Thanks for confirming their VPS nodes are down
Days at a time?
Our website has been up, we are having an outage right now in Orlando which our site resides in.
We are also setting up a failover record so our site will have 100% uptime.
We are working on bringing up our /22 which all of our VPS nodes are on, nLayer was removed from our blend today so we only have one upstream in our Orlando location now.
FYI: Our new Dallas location comes with a 100% network uptime SLA
Service has been restored
Thank you
Not for me.
its showing online from my end..
Yup. Back up now. To be fair this was the first serious service interruption since I got the VPS a couple of month ago. Overall Avante Hosting a great deal!
my VPS has been down since a couple of days, rebooting doesn’t solve the issue. no response from support.
I think that their Control Panel is still broken as it is the API so issuing a reboot there will do nothing to the VM.
My Plastic VPS has been down for a week now. Support told me the Xen node was having issues and I haven’t heard anything since.
Same here. Although I got a reply today saying they have no ETA for it….which is useful.
they always play dumb, such as “at me end, it’s online” or “I don’t know what you’re talking about>”,
in fact, while their server is down, nobody cares, one or two days of downtime is normal to these guys.
still no reply from support. bummer.
Mine has been down for the past 12 hours or so too.
My VPS was online but since almost 8 hours ago had no direct connectivity. So had no ssh access, but in fact was online with no down time as reported by the Control Panel and VNC was working (they changed the ip adress again).
A traceroute from the VPS a few hours ago only reached the first hop. Right now VNC also died. :(
This time didn’t bother to fill a ticked but hope that will be fixed soon. Although I’m sure that a bit more information from them certainly would be appreciated by all their customers, being an email, a note in their issues page or even just a tweet.
And the intertubes connectivity seems to be specially wonkier in the past few hours than the last week wonkiness. :( :(
20+ hours later and my server is still down. Clients bailed and are asking for refunds… and all they can say is “It will be back soon”. They send out an email saying they are going to do maintenance and then when that day comes they don’t do it… instead they do it 2 weeks later with no warning what so ever. What have we learned today??? Sure its cheap… But you get what you pay for! I for one will not be paying them another dime.
You should have learned to not put production customer data on services that don’t have a history :(
Is there no offsite backups?
Francisco
Yeah I have backups but that’s not the point… Some notice would have been nice! Not an email saying “Hey we are going to do it on this day” and then don’t do it. Then decide to put everyone in the dark a few weeks later with NO NOTICE.
Come on Chris,,,!!!!!
I trust you, bring back avante as 1st time i said
“AVANTE ROCK”
My server down maybe over than a day for now.
Very sad if im trying to connect via Putty, then Putty says
“Server unexpectedly closed network connection”
or just idle no response anything :|
Chris, I have a VPS on USA-ORL-XEN-2, how to get it moved to Dallas?
If necessary I will accept a new IP.
All VPS have been automatically moved to our new Dallas location.
We are currently in the process of updating SolusVM.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and appreciate your patience during this time.
Test IP the same?
Is this offer still valid?
ETA?
VPS is up on Dallas node.
Not mine. Still down for almost another 4 full days. :(
Mine is back up too. On the Dallas node and same IP as before.
Mine also is in the Dallas-KVM-Reg-1 node now but still is shown in the Control Panel as offline and doesn’t boot either. :(
Avante is another Hosting scam. They took your money to start up their business than they took their own free time time to solve the VPS problem. Easy way is they say “sorry” when the servers down. Anything not working they just say “sorry”. No commitment to solve the problem. Their “sorry” is cheap too.
Another favorite word they use is “waiting”. Their “waiting” has no date line. If request for refund they will just delay you and said “wait” which they hope after a while customer will forgot about the waiting.
For those who love to waste some small $$ to test their VPS, are encourage to signup with Avante. I guarantee Avante will love it. Especially their KVM VPS.
my VPS has been down for 2+ weeks now. still no response from support. pity it’s too late to file a paypal claim.
Unfortunately noticed yesterday, that vps is offline due to broken partition, i.e. all data on partition was lost.
By the way it occured the second time since I purchased this hosting.
My VPS is down for almost 3 weeks !
The support team closing my tickets without any response, one response told me to wait…(it was 2 weeks ago)
Avante is another Hosting scam !
At least report their account!
https://www.paypal.com/helpscr?cmd=_help&locale=en_GB&countrycode=GB&_dyncharset=UTF-8&t=solutionTab&ps=solutionPanels&solutionId=163598
Our new Dallas location is up and running with hundreds of clients successfully operating their VPS. Apparently a few clients have experienced problems many of which we cannot confirm. Regardless, support tickets are being dealt with as quickly as possible. For those that remain unsatisfied, please PM me.
In a few hours my server will have been down for a full 7 days. Let me help you confirm that http://stats.hiphopsmurf.com as for support… I have been ignored for the last two days. I have filed a complaint with paypal and will revoke the complaint once my server is restored.
Hello,
All tickets have been answered
Possibly the response email went into your spam?
You will be credited for the downtime.
Thanks
You are not looking at my account because the ticket still says “customer-reply” and has for two days… Nothing wrong with my email.
Seems that your ticket system has a bug and your replies are dated in the future so new customer replies are older and the ticket is marked as answered when is not.
Same here, No Control panel don’t help either.
Unable to boot/reboot hell I can’t even reinstall.
A VPS that I can’t access/boot/control is useless.
@1allen: Yes, I also have had this happen here, twice now, all data and work almost lost. Thank god for backups…
@Chris When are you planing to have SolusCP repaired
After another 8 days of downtime summing a whooping 60% uptime in a month, seems that they also trashed my VPS. http://i.imgur.com/wTetf.png
“We apologize for the delay. Actually, the migration is completed. We are working on bringing the servers online. We can create new server if you would like.”
Still down. No new VPS and no reply either. :(
That means that those VPS not restored yet and still offline are definitely lost?
Hi Chris,
I sign up your KVM VPS on 8/July/2012. Since the day I sign up till now 18/Oct/2012 I can’t even use my VPS. Can’t even install the OS. The KVM is totally not working. Open ticket and your customer service keep on giving reasons for 2 weeks until they out of reason. Than they just close my Ticket (#917148) without answer. I open the Ticket again and they just close it without answer.
Basically Avante took my money and give me nothing. Request for refund, and refund is not in Avante “dictionary”.
FOR THOSE

I still have my vps offline since 17 September 2012 !
The support team keep closing my tickets without solving the problem !
Last response from support team was on 12.10.2012:
“We’re working on bringing your server back online as quickly as possible.
If you have no important data we can re-create your VPS right now. Is this okay?”
On same day I answered them that I do not mind re-create VPS
Today 15.10.2012 they closed my ticket and VPS still offline !
By the way Chris, I sent to you an email about this problem but no answer !
Checking from varied servers in different countries:
http://avantehosting.net/ is down.
https://vps.avantehosting.net:5656/ is very, very slow.
Server came up for a few days last week, then went down last night.
Fortunately my backups are good. May be time to migrate those sites.
Exactly the same experience.
Avoid this provider, my VPS has been down for a month (support tickets have been replied but they never brought them back) and they still charged my credit card USD 66 for a quartely plan!. Shameless…
And… It’s down again!
Check this thread there.
The LowEndTalk admin is considering putting Avante Hosting in the deadpool list. :(
My avante vps is back up.
For how long, I can’t say.
Hopefully long enough to pull good backups…?
The last few days of no service, suddenly my VPS is apparently online… using 0MB of disk space.
Re-install repeatedly failed, decided to wait a while.
Checked SolusVM first thing this morning:
Virtual Servers
No Virtual Servers Found
Brilliant….
ChrisK posted earlier that needed to update SolusVM, so that may be the cause. My VPS is still down since more than 13 days ago and didn’t get online in all this time though.
He was probably busy playing minecraft.
Ah, good to know.
Hopefully we’ll be up and running soon :)
this is ridiculous
And… down again!
Its been down for me for about two weeks… :\
I should have kept backups. sigh.
RUN VERY FAR AWAY from these guys. Lost data, forced to reinstall OS, and down every other day. And they can’t even fix the clocks on their servers. Lightweights !!!!
I’ll just consider my paid amount as forced “donation” for Avant.
Paid but not even a day I can use the KVM VPS.
Anyone know how to use a proper way to shutdown this Hosting from skimming more people?
We can refund anyone that is having issues, please submit a ticket and you will be refunded
Thanks
That means that those whose VPS is not up yet are not going to recover it/get a new one as told?
@Luxor
We can provide you with a new VPS on one of our upgraded servers, or we can refund your original payment.
Thanks
don’t believe this guy, he’s a liar, cheat and scum of the earth.
You have been closing my tickets without reply for more than 2 weeks (since 12 Oct 2012, VPS down since 04 Oct 2012) that I’ve been waiting for the new VPS offered and that you have not provided.
So what?
Why dont you reply to the ticket I opened 3 weeks ago, closing it with no fix will not make me go away
I can’t understand this, $1/m VPS and $5.99/m Shared Hosting? (Cheating of Blufhost plans?)
Why this garbage still operate, i would recommend LEB admin to put avante hosting into dead pool.
I have service with them and goes down for a week, they also not replied my ticket since 3 days ago.
For all, how do you think if i using paypal dispute to avante hosting?
They don’t reply to tickets full stop, its a Very common occurrence with this company, they think your problem will vanish if they ignore you…
Luxor & Detty
Can you send me an email with your VPS ID?

SCM
We are a well funded company and have absolutely no interest taking anyone’s money. Please send your VPS ID for refund
don’t care about lousy $6 anymore, Your father’s friend will find out soon about you and your daddy will be so shamed, probably can’t get out of the house in day light.
If he is agree to refund your $6 TRILLION money then why you are bashing him and his family?
Paying **nuts and want elephant?
(Sorry, “** Nuts” = $6 Trillion for you :)

Any good word on those servers?
Still haven’t seen a VPS.
I have unanswered tickets getting closed after 72 hours.
Seems ticket ignoring is the norm here, I have a ticket that has been ignored for almost 6 weeks. They close it – I re-open it – they continue to ignore it, seems to be a pattern developing here…
I own a network of 200 consumer review websites.
Was hoping to add another 20 sites on an Avante server, for a total of 220.
Or…
John,
Tickets should not be closed after 72 hours unless they have been responded to by a staff member.
If you are having an issue feel free to email me, chris@avantehosting.net
Thanks
SCM,
I cannot refund you since the transaction was made on 11/07/2012
Please submit a ticket with your email, and say in the ticket
“ATTN CHRIS”
I will need to send the money manually.
Thanks
TBH I am not really worried over a ~$3 refund, I would prefer it if you were able to provide the service that I payed for.
Almost what 6 weeks now since I opened a ticket, a ticket that kept being closed after 72 hours…
So, when someone needs support, its better to email or post here? As the tickets get ignored then closed after 72 hours this would seem the case. Therefor whats the point in having a helpdesk, you should simply remove it and the links to it if you are ignoring it
Our new servers will be coming online today, anyone experiencing issues will be moved.
Native IPV6 will be up and running in the next couple of days as well.
Thanks
2co refund never came, since there was no record of refund, I guess, that’s it, isn’t it?
Wish you can cope with what I lost, vps, real refund or some.
Please provide your VPS ID and I’ll look after this for you
Thanks
@Chris – My Comment On slow your support:
If you can’t fix their problem then at least reply to their tickets?
Ignoring a ticket is a really bad for your business.
Sorry, I mean “My Comment on your slow support”
Worst service ever.. They never respond to the tickets I make and updating from one mc version to another is a pain. I really don’t recommend avante hosting..
My vps was down for nearly 2 months, tickets were replied to once but any replies to that ticket response are ignore and then closed.
Forced to reinstall my OS, losing my data. The clock is completely wrong.
They have two Debian 32 bits listed with no discernable difference between the two.
Even after they said they will send an email when server is up again, I have received no such thing and it was just a random check of mine that confirmed that the server was running again.
No attempt to be sorry about it or anything, nothing.
I like you encounter! My VPS has more than two months not BOOT. my Username: AH_4258 . when i open ticket,They say that soon. now i can’t my kvm.
I originally bought this July 9. Since then I have used it a few times, but most of the time it has been off. Before moving hosting, I am always careful to test it for a month, during which it magically turned off a few times. This was enough for me to consider it a write-off and use it as my playground. Over the last six months, as I have needed a KVM test machine, I have occasionally powered it on. It works but magically shuts itself down again, after a period of time.
Now I am trying to power it on and it stays offline.
I compare this to my $15 per year OpenVZ through BuyVM, which I think I turned on two years ago and has ran stable since.
Stay away!
Disclaimer: i haven’t opened a ticket for my issues, and I don’t really care to. I can see others have opened tickets and in my mind they should be unnecessary, it should Just Work(tm).
Agrees that things should just work. Hence, I don’t think KVM, Xen or OpenVZ is the problem. The provider needs to provide a reliable and stable service. This is the most important.
I decided to open a ticket on the 27th to see what would happen. Apparently VM is “being rebuilt” and I will receive an email once it is ready.
This has now been two days, I updated today to see what the hold-up is. Response, which was very fast, is “The rebuilding process is still going on”
This seems to be in-line with the other comments on this thread. I can’t see how rebuilding a 6gb image can take more than a few hours.
Hah what a joke:
Hello,
We are still in the process of rebuilding the VPS. We will be offering VPS from next week end.

Mine has been offline at least since Nov 27. The ticket has been automatically closed a number of times. I last re-opened it on Dec 4, and the only response so far is that they put it on hold (no actual response).
@Sean: Lucky you. My VPS has been down AGAIN for over a month. And also the previous month was down a full week. Not counting that during the move they trashed my VPS and was another month down. So far losed my data and has been down most of the time.
The replies are basically the same as posted here and the tickets just get closed.
Last time asked for a refund and just got a “We apologize. We will surely compensate for the loss.” but no refund.
I’m still waiting for my VPS to be restored from THREE months ago, Good luck dude but I really doubt they will do anything apart from close your tickets and keep brushing you off…
A few low end users paying 3 cents a day have abused and affected other clients on the server.
This low end VPS offer did not work in our business model and will longer be offered. We are rapidly expanding our customized dedicated server division and will offer selected VPS programs in the future.
Lol, those “3 cent a day customers” expect a working machine, not your excuses, no one cares that you are moving towards “customized dedicated servers” they want what they paid for.

QFT & Totally agree..
I find it funny how other providers can make a decent profit on the $0.03 per day of hosting. To me it shows incompetence on the part of avante, and I regret my decision to go with them.
I also find it laughable that it was “a few abusive customers” – if they were unable to determine which account it was, sign of incompetence.
I think the actual truth is, they thought they could make a quick buck, but when it turned out they had to provide service it became “too expensive” and they did away with this.
Oh well, a quick search of google for avante reveals lots of bad results, so I take it they won’t be around much longer.

) … so I take it they won’t be around much longer.
Well, they are still around. They have changed to a more lucrative business model, pink hosting a/k/a “bulletproof” hosting. That means that they provide hosting services for people who send unsolicited commercial e-mail.
It would probably be better if your prediction had hit the mark, but I guess there are enough other spam hosting companies out there that the volume would not be much affected.
Unfortunately a few customers have been affected by the abusers and we apologize for this inconvenience. VPS refunds have been made and will continue to be honoured to anyone requesting it. Please send me an email if you have experienced difficulties.
Thanks
Not saying that couldn’t be true but seems hard to believe because:
– Which kind of “abusers” can affect other users… for months?
– And how it makes that tickets won’t be replied and “On Hold” or “In Progress” for weeks?
– And how that affect to refund these users with their VPS still down when asked for it more than a month ago? Twice.
Yes, please, honor your word and refund all those that requested it without more delays or excuses.
I have sent emails, opened tickets and posted my VPS ID here some months ago, and still waiting…
How about you honer your words rather than offering empty promises!
@SCM
I don’t seem to have received a response to my Nov 4 posting regarding your $ 3 refund. Please resend and we’ll look after it. Thanks
@luxor
Unfortunately, in addition to technical issues, a few of our servers have been victimized by abusers over the past several months. We have therefore elected to discontinue our low end VPS. Pleases send me an email so I may refund your $ 6
Try opening your eyes, there are several responses both in ticket and above on the 5th Nov

VPS Support 05/11/2012 04:32 “ATTN CHRIS”
just sent an email to you, Chris, I just got an invoice for my VPS which has been down for a couple of months, goes without saying, I’m not gonna use your services anymore, please respond.
thanks
Unfortunately, technical issues and abusers have effected a few of our low end VPS servers over the past few months. We apologize to those who have been affected. The amount of time and energy we spend on VPS tickets for little revenue is disproportionate to our other divisions which operate relatively trouble free. Consequently, we have made the business decision to discontinue this low end program but will offer enhanced VPS in the near future. Refunds have and will continue to be honoured. Please send me an email if you are having problems, thanks
Attention Victims of Avante –
4 Months now I have paid for no server but I keep being promised it will be restored soon. This is nonsense and the service is a disgrace to keep people’s servers down this long and continue to send invoices and take peoples money. I have sent many tickets with responses of broken promises. I recommend anyone in the same position as me contact paypal and 2checkout.com tell them this guy is not legit and share your stories with them and some of the stories on this forumn. You should also contact your bank/credit card company and request a chargeback. If you did pay with Visa/MC/Discover/Amex and you request a charge back not only will you get a refund but it will cost Avante a $25 fee for each chargeback processed in dispute. This is about as close to justice as you can get for yourself but I encourage everyone to also request this guy loose his payment processing privileges with 2checkout.com so please make sure to speak with the fraud department and take the time to file a official complaint.
Chris –
You know my number if you want to make this right before the damage is done. I would say file a ticket but after my last complaint you disabled my account and password? I am currently working with a 2checkout.com representative that is referring this forum url as welll as my complaints about your abuse to the risk and analyses department for their review. Good Luck with everyone else
Some people seems to have been refunded (not me, still very patiently waiting), and others wonder how they choose of whom to refunded.
Anyway it’s mean to want him to be charged $25 for a charge back even having had the VPS down for months and being brushed away with void words (as we all of us).
Also still waiting, seems to be the name of the game here.
The last ticket I opened has been ‘on hold’ for an awful long time now…
ChrisK finally sent me the refund and many others report that also got it.
@Michael Gibson
Every payment you’ve ever made to us has been refunded.
I did get the refunds……thank you and good luck to the rest of you as well as Chris
Interesting how he is selective on those refunds, seems he hopes we will go away…
Still waiting for my Full refund… only 4 months so far…
Sorry, please send your Paypal details by email for your $ 3 refund…do not send a ticket
Sure, how about you provide the email addy, I should not have to go hunting it, already wasted enough time with you and your company
Shouldn’t everything be handled and tracked via ticket? Why email?
Totally agree, though tickets are ignored or left sitting “on hold” for months or simply just closed.
My guess is someone is trying to hide them from the financial department ie: Daddy
I have raised a Pay Pal dispute and claim now as my previous tickets and e-mails have gone unanswered by this company, such a shame that people just want our money and really have no honour about them.
As stated many times, after 6 months, we have terminated our low end VPS. Technical issues along with attracting numerous abusers have caused us problems. We regret entering this troubled sector. We have and will continue to honour any refunds requested. DO NOT SENT A TICKET. Send me an email with paypal details AND service ID. We want to close all files.
chris@avantehosting.net
Chris, I sent you tickets but you ignored them, why can’t you just have been honest with people, we would respect you a lot more if you had told us you had issues.
Excuses are like assholes, everyone has 1.
The only abuser I see in this whole mess is the host who pocketed his clients money, didn’t delivery the services provided, and is making his paying customers jump through hoops to recover their money.
Chris you are an asshole, I sent you a message on October 10th and ask for money back but you just excused and told me cuz I used that shit for one month you can not give me the rest. if you check up there I was the first one suggest to report your Paypal account. I don’t need those fu.. money
Nice to see all the happy customers here sharing all their great times with us all. You should consider going public on the stock market……could be bigger then google with all the stellar tech expertise and don’t forget how awesome the customer support is. Look out fortune 500 here comes Chris and his $6 master scam tactics.
Chris if you don’t enjoy the sarcasm here’s a novel and honest idea: why not just refund everyone? You could send out a email 1st announcing your plan and apologies then follow through with the plan and give back the people’s money. Your client data and payment history is all right at your finger tips. This is what a good, honest and responsible person would do. The idea that you continue to invoice for service you know does not work is dishonest then to accept the money is borderline malicious fraud and then to further ignore tickets requesting refunds or a working server is beyond a reasonable doubt of theft. It’s guys like you that give this industry a bad name and make payment processors charge such high rates. Just go out of business and don’t come back if you can’t be honest. Please stop with the pathetic excuses and your childish rants of how this has been such a burden for you.
In fact no matter if someone doesn’t understand afterward its up to other people that they will help, so here it
takes place.
