VooServers - £4 256MB Xen VPS in UK

VooServers Have to apologise to the providers sending me offers — heaps of them for the last 2 weeks. Was it global warming or something, as there is no shortage of hot VPS deals. Anyway. Matt from VooServers sent me this last week. Basically they are offering the same IPv6 promo again. Use coupon code IPV6ME to get 50% off recurring discount on their Xen-based virtual servers. Their “256MB” plans would be £4/month (~USD$6.50) + VAT for those who are applicable, and pro-rata to the end of following month. Sign up here.

  • 256MB memory/512MB swap
  • 20GB storage
  • 500GB/month data transfer
  • 1x IPv4 + 10x IPv6
  • Xen/SolusVM

Servers in Maidstone UK (test IPv4: 91.220.127.200, IPv6: 2a00:1c10:3:634::10). VooServers are also running a lucky draw at the moment. They will also be offering a chance for 5 lucky users to win their order free of charge for a year, and the draw for this will take place on Friday 22nd July 2011. They are also trying to be fair to the existing members so if you are a current user of VooServers, send an email to win at vooservers.com with your VPS IP to participate in the draw as well.

VooServers have pretty good reputation here. I personally haven’t used them (no project needing a UK server at the moment), but many have — just look at comments in past posts about them. You can vote for them here in our current top provider poll.

One of my favourites. Their vps is a “keeper” for sure. Very quality service for such low price.

Yep, can only agree with that. Have 2 VPSes from them now and they are GREAT!

Really good host, I’ve made some technical queries not issues mind, just questions and have been given answers and possible solutions straight away even on the weekend.

I’m surprised they are not doing better in the poll, their maidstone nodes seem great.

Their pricing for Xen is very reasonable as well.

    • I guess there are less people looking for a good UK provider? VooServers is currently the most voted UK provider on the poll, almost head to head with Evorack (which is another good provider).

I’m always surprised to see such low interest in decent UK providers like Vooservers, XenSmart and XenVZ. No they’re not in the 15$/year price range but they’re still pretty cheap and very high quality. I’m happy paying a bit more for this kind of quality and reliability.

Been a customer of VooServers for a while now and am still very impressed and happy with my VPS.

Maybe because some people uses their vps for vpn or game server, and they prefer US servers because of lower latency (especially from Asia) not to mention you can watch hulu with it :P

      • True. The only use I have with a UK VPS is to watch Doctor Who and Top Gear on BBC…

        • Pascal:

Yeah, might depend on your own location too. I’m in the EU so latency to the US is too high for me.

LOL, I wanted to get a UK VPS to be able to use BBC iPlayer.

I also noticed that those .uk providers don’t self-promote themself that much as their .us counterparts. Or as someone mentioned in Top Low End VPS Provider Poll for 2011 Q2 they don’t do all this “circlejerking” around. I can get nowaday way faster support ticket response from evorack or vooservers and comparable if not even better service than from as example some Ramnet but difference seems on pages like LEB, WHT, etc.. where are those popular .us hosts always around with RIGHT answers.

(don’t get me wrong, that’s not ramnet related critic, it’s just example based on my experiences)

This vendor has provided good technical service. Auto-provisioning was immediate. IPv4 and IPv6 work well.

We had a billing issue, which was resolved without interruption to the service (kudos!). Note to vendors: server interruptions cost more than the service is worth.

The vendor had an environmental event in their data center which apparently cooked some of their machines. Communications were detailed, professional, and proactive. Our service was unaffected during the event as far as we can determine.

We recommend this vendor (circa two months)

Sorry, we took them out of stock the other day while we deployed a new node however later that day there should have been more available again.

I can’t but add a note of appreciation after about 3 months with Vooservers. Absolutely professional guys with a passion to proactively support the customer, even when the issue is not ruled out to be within the VPS. Highly recommended.

I got very interested in this host because they got honorable mention but i’m not so impressed yet. I ordered a VPS and it still isnt setup. I have vps at Evorack and they are awesome. I have never waited more than half hour for support response (even on a Sunday). And ping is better at Evo by 10ms. I wanted to try Vooservers cause of all the excited response but hmmmmm…..

    • Hi,
Could you drop a ticket in to us so we can take a look at your account please. We have a couple of orders overnight which have flagged up in our anti-fraud systems so if you can drop a ticket in then we can check if one f see are yours and re-run e checks.

      October 23, 2011 @ 10:09 am | Reply
    • I believe I have now found your order and activated it. It looks like there was an order through a proxy first of all which flagged as high risk and as such the 2nd order then did not automatically activate. If you VPS has still not been activated however or if there are any problems please drop a support ticket in and we generally reply within 10 minutes to our ticket system. Just for future reference if you experience the same issues with any other orders/hosts it may be worth dropping in a ticket first before coming here as the support ticket systems are generally monitored more than here.

OK lol. NOW i’m impressed. Yes I was one of those. Sorry bout that. Can’t order vps in UK firefox over proxy with :) Will drop a ticket asap. Thanks!

    • No problem. I think I have activated it now however if not I’ll double check it when your ticket comes in as it will bring up the account details. We have had to harden our anti-fraud systems recently as we were getting 10-15 orders a day from someone who had procured a credit card list from a website we are trying to get shut down.

Anyone reading about Vooservers please disregard my first comment. Very good service. Especially the support. I opened 3 tickets today and I don’t know if it even took 5 minutes each time to be answered. VPS is also very good. Stable and fast. Thanks Matt :)

I have 2 VPSes with them. Each time there is a support question, I get a reaction from them in less then 1 hour, often in 10 minutes.
If they have an issue with a node, they are not hidding it. Mails are send to customers with info, even for a 10 minutes downtime of a node (even if it’s not due to a problem on their node but on their providers network).
They are TOP! For me they are about the best VPS providers I’ve ever worked with. Keep up the good work!

  22. Thank you for the feedback. It’s great to hear from customers as it’s your satisfaction that we ultimately work so hard at support for :). We now also have a feedback/testimonial section in our client portal under the account statistics if you wish to be listed on our website as well. All feedback good and bad is welcome as we are always looking to improve.
