Mehesh from sshVM has just updated me with a deal that I’ve not yet posted :P When you go to their home page you’ll notice that their VPS plans are available in 4 locations. However for “VPS3”, Chicago and Dallas are both currently out of stock. “VPS3” in Kansas City MO is $7/month (Sign up link), and the same plan in Scranton would also be $7/month when you apply coupon code 1off (Sign up link). They have
- 512MB guaranteed/1024MB burstable memory
- 40GB storage
- 600GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
- 1x IPv4 + 5x IPv6 addresses
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Domain was registered in February 2011, and the business is operated from India. No instant activation as all orders are manually approved. Check their AUP for a list of unacceptable usage.

Nice website :D
Any test IP / test files available for downloads?
Kansas City Servers: testkansas.sshVM.com/100mbit.bin
Our Kansas City Servers are hosted at Wholesale Internet’s facility you can also test their URL: wholesaleinternet.com/100mbit.bin
Their VPS1 Plan (128MB) comes at USD2/mon. Why LEA prefers to advertise their VPS3 at 7USD?
maybe because of this:
http://www.lowendbox.com/wiki/listing-criteria
OK, I’m an idiot. I don’t see any reason why the VPS1 plan would not be listed per those rules. Or the VPS2 plan.
Maybe the provider just wanted the larger plan listed?
Our first listing, we had sent mail to LEB about VPS1. But LEB has listed VPS3. We believe it must be because of LEB listing criteria. Hence, this time we sent mail about Scranton and Kansas City VPS3 offer. It doesn’t matter which plan has been listed. People who are in need of budget VPS will just ignore VPS3 and buy VPS1.
Both are equally fitting to this site, although Mehesh gave me the discount code for VPS3 Scranton so I thought I’ll list that instead. Yeah but it’s true that 3 of their hosting plans fit under the criteria — should have mentioned that in the post.
My name spell is Mahesh not Mehesh (typo)
Be sure to read over the AUP, I misread one of the rules, I must comment the whole system was good but I must say that going into my VPS with out permission and publicly announcing the contents of one of my home directory’s was in my opinion very unprofessional. Overall the service is good but the way the company deals with issues (Or at least for me) is alarming.
It is good to know that you are happy with the service. We apologize for giving names of some weird named binary file list in public which was running in screen and flooding network (In your words “messing with sock” which you proudly accepted in public that it happened due to your binary and also you tried to convince us that it is not malicious.
We were activity tweeting about the issue and we just wanted to let you know that which file actually screwed the network. We do agree that you have placed the Ticket with weird subject line “Surprise evaporation of Harddisk”. Whatever, you gained or goal is, sshVM is not a place for such kind of activities. We sincerely, apologize for going public.
