Servers in either Equinix in Germany (test IP: 80.83.123.200), or Joe’s Datacenter in Kansas City MO (test IP: 208.94.241.226). They seem to have only 1 server in each of the locations, according to their Pingdom status. They are also planning to expand to Netherlands, Phoenix AZ and probably UK next year. Big plans — but we will need to wait and see whether it can be carried out. They were previously known as boxSrv (who had a website template fiasco back then), and has now “rebooted” with a new name and new design.

Thanks for the listing LEA. Our US servers are with Whole-Sale-Internet however not Joes DC, we did host our master there but we have re-located that to Amsterdam, NL. And we currently have 3 nodes in each DC, we have only just started pingdom to test the waters before we trust them to monitor everything. I have found that there are sometimes interruptions shown on pingdom, even though im logged into the machine via root with no problems :S
Pingdom is very accurate. Maybe your firewall blocked some of their IPs or there are connection issues on your servers.
There are definitely no connection issues on our servers. :P
Its a shame there’s no report feature, would help LEA keep on top of things.
Spammed content removed now.
The joys of running any blog/forum :P
yearly option and some discount on it would be nice specialy for 256/512 :)
Hello oblivioner. The only reason we dont offer annual plans just yet is because we are relatively new (Under the VMPort name at least)
So we did not think there would be much interest in annual plans. If you get in touch with our support by either submitting a ticket emailing supportdesk@vmport.com we would be happy to arrange something for you, just ask to be dealt with by me personally :)
its look not like own equipment (“Our technology is situated in a private suite — a particular separated area — in the Equinix data centre, Dusseldorf, one of the most up-to-date and most secure IP-data centres in Germany.”), the ripe database tell us a different, they are using rented servers from a equinix reseller:
with rendet server is not big deal to Netherlands, Phoenix AZ and probably UK next year – so stay and grow :)
Yes its not our own equipment, we never claimed it was. We simply stated that its in the Equinix DC, which it is :)
I purchased a VPS at vmport.com. I am not satisfied.. Their website is currently down due to Bandwidth Limit Exceeded which is unprofessional, and clients are not able to get in touch with their support team in case of any issues. Their control panel however is online and working.
I choosed Debian 6.0 64BIT however it is a 32BIT version. Even if I re-install the OS, I still get 32BIT and not 64BIT as it’s indicated.
I cannot recommend vmport.com.. I am asking for a refund as soon as their website is online and I can contact them. Such a shame, cause their pricing is really good.
Yes we had problems with our website (We set our own bandwidth limit to low) i think the posting here took traffic through the roof. Everything is fine now and has been since this morning. Thanks for pointing the template issue out the company we purchased them from claimed them to be x86 and we haven`t had any reports of problems until this. We have discussed this with Roberto and his refund has been issued, sorry for any inconvenience caused. No servers were effected by the problems.
We also half way through setting up our Phoenix boxes as we speak :D
Phoenix AZ, US. Now available with limited stock!
We`re running low on stock, last few remaining Germany/Kansas VPS.
Recent Disk Test on Germany;
I must say that this company have quite simply blown me away today. Site was up and running within minutes and when I had a slight problem The ‘CEO’ of the company contacted me personally within minutes of raising a ticket and has helped talk me through some initial problems I had installing packages onto my new server.
Problems regarding my own level of expertise not technical ones I have to add.
Where on earth can you get service to that level now days?
Can not recommend them enough!
Thank you for the kind words John, glad your happy with us and you know where we are if you need anything else :D
We now have a limited, one off supply of XEN VPS, no memory ballooning just 100% dedicated resources!
They are in our US facility, get them while you can :P
When will there be more stock available?
Hello Jason, stock is now available to purchase again :D
Here is my review about them, which you can use as a reference:
http://www.96mb.com/96mb-low-end-vps-review-part-xxviii-vmport/
I think the performance of the VPS is just average to be honest, but the service is definitely very very impressive, the documentations they have are great as well!
LEB254life and LOWENDBOX promo codes are no longer valid I guess :P
@shearerc
Nope they are quite outdated :P Feel free to drop a message to our sales department at sales@vmport and we can see what we can arrange for you in terms of a similar discount.
Cheers,
Ash
