Romanian test IP 188.215.83.87 does not work, didn’t check the rest.

my new ordered vps 199.193.251.12 can’t be reach now, it’s been 24hours now,the budgetvm support told me that my vps is being ddos attack, how could a new vps no routed vps being ddos attack?

I used its neighbour 188.215.83.86, which responded to pings.
Now .87 works, but with a 50% packet loss.
As I said, there must be a routing issue at your end. I’m tracerouting from San Jose and it works fine.
They must have had problems this morning with Romania location (my vps was offline/not accessible earlier)its still very slow to reply at this moment.
Well, from the US I don’t have problems. But i’ve problems with BuyVM routing atm. Maybe there is generally a routing problem somewhere.
I’ve just bought and begun using their VPS-1GB.
After some initial troubles it is working, but speed is just POOR (I managed to get at most 11.5 KB/sec when downloading a test file from my own VPS) and I had to use a version of Ubuntu different from what I chose at first (I chose 10.4 because it’s LTS, but I had to use 11.04 which is not LTS because threir 10.04 template wasn’t working… How can they even think of selling something which hasn’t been tested??).
I opened a ticket an hour ago about network speed, but still i got no answer nor anything has been fixes.
I definitely can’t go in production this way: BudgetVM doesn’t seem reliable, as far as I’ve seen.
Their VPS-1GB just isn’t usable… I can’t imagine how bad lower end VPSes perform…

My VPS had some problems last week, but now it’s performing fine.
Seems they have fixed connectivity issues.
So far, so good. So… I’m not having that many problems so far.
Some notes, about one month after purchase:
1) initial setup gave me some troubles, but the BudgetVM team fixed it in a reasonably amount of time.
2) after initial troubles, almost no trouble at all.
3) they kindly reminded me to pay my monthly bill a week before my month actually expires. Very useful.
So far, so good.
Would definitely recomment this vendor, and I’m considering renting another VPS, but I’d suggest to activate the VPS a week or two before the period you need it.

Do these types of companies (lowend) have trouble accepting credit cards and providing PCI Compliance? Every host I have used since mid-90’s has been more than happy to automatically bill my credit card (and “notify me that they did so”), yet a VPS host I saw on this site and tried, and your comment with BudgetVM “reminds you to pay”?
The company I tried had nice VPS performance, but simply could not automatically bill me monthly, even though they said they accept CC’s and my first payment was no problem.

Maybe someone could post a traceroute. Because from San Jose (USA) I don’t have any routing problem.
I had a VPS with them in Romania from their last offer, but canceled due to the poor system & network stability. Here are some traceroutes from UK (XenVZ) & Ashville (Carstensz Pyramid Server) showing 80%+ packetloss; these were taken on November 18th.

I have a VPS from Enzu (BudgetVM resells for them?) since a few weeks back.. I had a little problem with the VPS and got it suspended for a day, but the support solved it & compensated me by giving me a whole new server with two free months of service! (Wooooot :o) It has been stable & good since then.

Romanian Issues,
It has been no secret we’ve been having issues w/ our Romanian location our upstream(s) have blatantly shut us down for using “to much international traffic” even w/ us well under our limits it appears that the just didn’t have what they sold us. We also had an issue with on of our upstreams screwing up their side of our BGP configuration causing level 3 to drop our routes from the global bgp table. If you ran into these issues just open a ticket with us and we will credit you 3 months of free service. We are currently staging new equipment for a new EU location in Amsterdam to replace the Romanian facility.
I welcome anyone that ever has an issue or something negative to say or just a concern about our company to email me directly and see if we cant get it resolved.

Most of the comments above are about the service level in Romania where its impossible to get anyone other than our own employee’s to do their jobs correctly.

In LAX we now have a 1000 mbps uplink to the equinix peering exchange, 1 gbps to cogent, and a 10 gig to HE. Most of what goes over HE is the Southeast Asia / China bound traffic

The free time promotion was for customers affected by the Romanian issues, you will just need to reply to the ticket you already had open about the issue to claim the credit.

Connectivity for my Romania(Cluj) based VPS:

Romania’s international connectivity overall is pretty poor. I helped a Romanian friend for quite a while with managing his systems and networks over there for his web hosting company. He had tried selling web hosting to international customers, but they were never happy enough to remain customers for long. Now he only sells to Romanian customers and does just fine. There are a couple of good bandwidth providers with decent international links in Romania. By the time I was working with him, he had 15mbit link to one of them for international traffic, and it was good but also fairly expensive. Prohibitively, if you’re trying to sell primarily to international clients.
If you want to reach a Romanian audience, you may want to consider a host in Romania. If you want to reach a European audience in general, I’d highly advise going with one of the many cheap providers in Germany (hetzner’s dedicated servers are so cheap that there are tons of LEB providers in their data center…)
We have a decent amount of actual internet traffic from 2 isp’s over bgp. However we have already laid it in stone were moving to Amsterdam for better connectivity
Is the Los Angeles network stable yet? I had a Dallas and Los Angeles VPS from you guys in the past, and the Dallas one was fine except for bad disk i/o performance when I first got it, which you did resolve, but the Los Angeles one had network problems way too often with packet loss and bad performance etc.
The network of Los Angeles is really unstable, and that’s why I have to choose Dallas plan.
We replaced all of our hardware in Dallas, TX and they run the exact same config as Chicago & LAX now. The LAX network issues was due to a 100mb fastE uplink we had with Hurricane Electric. We just went ahead and upgraded it to a 10 gig port to prevent further issues:

5 minute averages don’t show peaks well. the dallas gear went down in cpu and up in disk performance i was migrated after the second time complaining about disk performance (it was fine for months in between after some abuser had been dealt with or something). the cpu in dallas was single core opteron 2356, at least of what is exposed, which seems way slower at some things than a xeon like hdparm -T (testing buffer cache gives around 700 mb/sec, whereas xeons and i5s are both around 5000 to 7000, i have another vps with another provider with opteron 2378 which gives low around 1400mb/sec, but it does seem like these older opterons are slower for web, apt-get, dynamic-web etc.
are there any plans for faster cpus in the future? i’m assuming when you say it’s the same config, and i was migrated in dallas to opteron 2356 LA is the same?
actually, when i look at passmark, it appears that dual cpu opteron 2378 isn’t much faster than dual cpu opteron 2356, and isn’t a LOT slower than the old style xeons (e5420 etc) so maybe it’s just cpu being overloaded?
We have heavy cpu limiting in place for any packages under 1 gb of ram, as we found that users were purchasing 128 / 256 mb packages and using 90% of the systems cpu where as they are paying for 1/8th and 1/4th of a cpu core respectively
We have no plans to change off of the Dual Opteron 2356 Setup as it works perfectly for us, and we have replacement parts etc. We however did just deploy an overclocked private cloud on 44 x i7-2600k servers :-D I wouldn’t say we will never do it, however its more when the next generation of CPU’s come out well move up a generation. We did change motherboards from an arima to asus and its made worlds of differences in terms of stability.

it seems pretty consistent that dallas is faster, except it seems from rapidxen and steadfast both were capped at 100 megabit, which isn’t a problem.

I’m still happy with the 256MB Los Angeles BudgetVM that I got. There were some network issues for a bit, but it seems to be back to normal now.
I’m having problems with mine. Mine never booted after paying and after several hours still won’t boot
We had brought up a few new servers and for some reason our template files did not get sync’ed over to them. I am currently doing this now. It appears to have affected 3 customers and they will all be getting an email update regarding it shortly, and a small bonus.

there must be a problem with their routing setting. I Order a Los Angeles VPS but I can’t connect the ip from China. while I can connect to the vps SSH from their VPS located in Chicago(I bought before)

This the only place I trust for finding other providers and stable virtual servers, I can’t stand places like Webhostingtalk, It’s turned into a EGO-fest of over there instead of a solid hosting community, everyone’ either bashes the new guy, or talks about how good their service is, compared to the next, or you got the newbie just signing up to post a fake review, or to complain about his order got marked fraud for him using a CHINA VPN to order and uses contact information based inside the United States, love them posts!
I wish someone would make a blog or if LEA would make a blog like this about other services too, not just lowendboxs, say web hosting, budget & premium virtual servers, and dedicated, make it like a branch of primary site too were people can post different offers as I know that would maybe defeat my point above that I love here because you pick out the legit offers and it’s not just anyone getting posted, they have to meet the standards and requirements and your the final decision before it is posted here, so that way not everyone and their mother can post information about their new start up web hosting company; only real providers that have a background check done by you, and then the community here provides feed back and recommendations based on the offer and advertisement listed…. I can only use soo many budget and lowend virtual servers ;)

But until now, it was about 8 hours. My service still keeps in OFFLINE status.
I have tried boot/reboot/shutdown+boot several times!!! But it still does not work!
I have created a ticket to report this issue for 7 hours. And no one reply to me and no one helps me to fix this issue! A BAD beginning!
I have been using BudgetVM for two or three weeks now and I am very happy with the way they handle down-times.
Let’s be realistic. Sometimes things will go wrong and I understand.
My VPS at LA has been very stable until yesterday. The connections become very slow and there were Ping packet losses now and then. I issued a ticket and I got a reply from Nick this morning. Nick explained the cause and told me they are working vigorously to solve the issue. I even get a 15 day compensation!
By the time I write this, It looks like the problem is already solved!

Just bought a XEN packet from them, first day was marvelous, ~50mb/s download speed, 35 ping.
A few days later (2-3), extreme packet loss; issued ticket instantly.
It’s been 5 days since my first ticket, the only response was from NICK who told that they loaded new kernels and that’s why was so laggy, only one problem: i have the server located in amsterdam, they loaded new kernels in LA. So 100% uptime and customer comes first…not present, My issue? Still present.

I would avoid BudgetVM (Enzu, Inc). Their customer service is non-existant.
I canceled an order hours after I creating it because the VPS performance was poor.
I contacted customer service several times asking for a refund and received no response.
Google was kind enough to refund me on their behalf. Horrible experience. I will never do business with BudgetVM, (Enzu, Inc) again.
Their customer service is very bad, and support service was very poor. They don’t understand technical problem. I have open ticket that has been four days but the problem has not been resolved.

A warning to those who are thinking of signing up with BudgetVM.
I just added a package last week on May 31 and was suspended a few days later without warning.
I only had time to load an operating system and install webmin and set my DNS and domain.
Can’t access my trouble tickets and was suspended for not responding?
I didn’t get any notifications that I had a ticket and when asked why they said I had reports of email spamming from my IP address.
The problem is I just received my IP in my new plan on May 31 and the reports of the incidents were from a week or more before I even signed up with them.
No replies to my reply and had to submit a new trouble ticket and still waiting as they probably know they did this in error but refusing to cooperate.
I would stay away from this company as it’s way of handling this is very poor and unprofessional.
I feel cheated and ripped off by this company as I prepaid for a year and they took my money and a few days after suspended me and according to their terms I can’t get a refund.

Yaeh, I have to agree with all of you. I had my VPS with them for more than a year (since march 2012), and had a paypal recurring payment set up for the monthly payments. Now, they suspended my account for not paying, even though my paypal account was charged. When i complained they simply deleted my account. Now i am disputing the paypal transaction in hopes to have my refund.
Way to go guys. You’ll be soon with no customers at all if keep like that!

Do not buy stupid VPS from budgetvm.com,you will sorry for the slow speed and bad service.
They where NullRouting us because of a supposed DDoS attack (we had the vm for 2 weeks), there wasn’t anything in our logs or anywhere. We were running a test environment. We got suspended and asked to provide answers on what we were doing and how we plan on preventing the attack.
We asked for cancellation and our money back, at least we got that pretty quick.
I had the VM suspended on a Friday for allegedly breaking some “rate policy”. On Saturday I asked for clarifications and got no reply. Now it’s Sunday and still no reply. In the meantime I can’t log into the server to check the logs or do anything with it.
I’m suspending my payments to them. Forever. Cheap VM cheap service.
