    • Here’s a test I just performed on your very node:
      dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
      16384+0 records in
      16384+0 records out

    • Why 34 MB ? O.o Doubt !

    • Vpstea’s dd test is misleading because he is using a write method that asks for completely synchronous output to disk. The write cache is basically unused in this case.
The test I posted is the test most frequently used on this site.

  3. We had daily issues with network and support was very slow to respond to problems.

    November 21, 2013 @ 10:41 am | Reply
    • Hi Shawn,
The causes of your network issues were Minecraft servers. We had two Minecraft VPSes on that node that were heavily abusing resources and inviting DDoS attacks. Therefore, we have updated our policy to forbid Minecraft hosting.
Also, your money was refunded 100% as a result of the service issues.

‘What’s a word that makes it sound like we keep data safe?’
    ‘Secure?’
‘And what’s a really terrifying creature that would keep intruders away?’
    ‘A dragon?’
‘That’s it, we’ll call ourselves SecureDragon!’
‘Erm, sorry to break it to you, but there’s already a SecureDragon’
‘Shit…ok, another word that makes you think of data being safe of secure’
    ‘Armor?’
‘And what’s the second most terrifying creature you can think of?’
‘A chimera, but they get a lot of bad press, so let’s just go for shark’
    ‘ArmorShark, yeah!’

    I’m here all week.

You cannot because that action will negatively impact other VPS users.

  9. I just noticed that the ping test and test file is for one of our nodes that has been closed for signups. All signups are going on much emptier nodes.

    I just ran a serverbear.com benchmark.

    http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2013/11/25/Z33rnJVl1nyYrSIP

My service took about 16hrs to deploy and I guess it was because they ran out of IPv4 addresses and the automatic system didn’t kick in or work or something? I’m not sure. I guess it was a fluke.

    November 25, 2013 @ 4:51 pm | Reply
    • That’s correct Chase. We had to manually add IPv4 blocks to some nodes and this caused a delay. My apologies.

    • Hi Efranov,
I do apologize for the delay. Your VPS was setup later that night. We’re provisioning a large buffer of IPs for each node now so this shouldn’t happen again.

Their site is down, my vps is down, I can go on

    November 27, 2013 @ 9:15 pm | Reply
    • Our site is online. All the hardware on your node is responding, but the OS software has gone into kernel panic. I have engineers working on the issue. Things like this happen and the best we can do is to devote our resources to solving this as quickly as possible. Worst case scenario we will reinstall the host OS and bring up backups from Monday. Note, this is only affecting one of our nodes and the vast majority of signups from LowEndBox are unaffected.

My vps if offline since 1 day and support is not answering.

This is very very far from “100% network uptime guarantee”.

    • It has been down for about 12 hours as of now, but the VPS restorations are already well-underway. If you need your site online now, send in a ticket and you’ll get priority restore.

    Still down

    • Send in a ticket, please. A majority of VPSes are back online. We are rolling them back in order of total disk space used, so if your VPS has used a lot of disk space it’s probably in the back of the queue.

Do not have too much expectation of this provider. I just discovered that my VPS host hosted by them died over 3 weeks ago. I have also opened a ticket for that and first response was 12 hours after telling me that the IP was null routed by their data center without any additional info or course of action how to resolve that problem. 11 hrs later their support responded me that this is actually no null routed IP issue and that they have no clue what’s happening. And they are asking me what happened… xD Anyways, ticket is still open, my VPS is still down, and they are “hoping” that they have some backup somewhere… I’ll keep you updated on our progress…

After a almost of month of downtime they recovered my host with backup which is about 3 weeks old.

Well I guess that is better than nothing…
