AstroVPS.Com was registered on the 7th of February 2012, so they are very new however there’s a range of things we are not overly impressed with such as the use of a self-signed certificate on the order page, no TOS and no FAQ. All this may tie in to their declaration of support “Not everyone need support, so we take away customer support from the prices.” Beyond the effort of leasing a node, installing WHMCS and SolusVM we can’t see much effort being put in at this stage, but hey the owner may be a nice guy!

Hopefully next time around we have more positive things to say about AstroVPS! At this stage it’s absolutely buyer beware!

    • Hi Christian,

      Appreciate the update.
When we wrote it on Saturday there was a link to it, however it didn’t load a TOS.

Good to see they have fixed at least 1 area. Hopefully they get on to their FAQ and Certificate next.

I’ve posted the comment but it doesn’t appear:

And an interesting section called: “Refunds & Paypal Disputes/Chargebacks”:
All payments to AstroVPS are nonrefundable. This includes any setup fees and monthly fees regardless of usage. Should a client involve us in any chargeback or paypal dispute we reserve the right to terminate any active services with us without notice or a refund.

If they want, they cancel your account. That’s it!

I think the use of the term ‘Buyer Beware’ is a bit… of an over-reacting just because it’s a new provider. New providers have teething problems, it’s way of the world.

Maybe a more gentle tone is needed for these types of providers? Otherwise they’d do best just not emailing in offers if it’s just going to hinder them….
