Rick from BeyondVPS sent me some exclusive offers for the LowEndBox readers. 50% off recurring discount on BE(one|two|three) packages on their Linux VPS plans, when you use promo code LOWENDLOVE. Their price is a bit dealer than many others featured here, and only BEone fit into my threshold after the promo code is applied. For $4.98/month (Sign up link) you get
- 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
- 10G storage
- 100GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ
Price is certainly not the strong point here (lots of cheaper better spec ones listed here). Servers in Scranton according to the network page, “owned and operated by a well established colocation provider” which I guess would be BurstNet/HostNoc. BeyondVPS is operated by RikeMedia in UK, who runs a domain registry (or rather, a ResellerClub reseller) and have recently sold their other VPS company to SteadFast to focus on BeyondVPS.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
lol Im the first here
i’m second. nice offer but i can find more cheaper here.
Sorry no prize for making the first (or second) comment here 🙂 Yes I agree that for 128MB memory, 100GB/month data you can definitely find cheaper and more reputable companies here, that is not reselling a server from HostNoc…
It seems, this company was sold last year?! is that ture?
Hey folks,
@hostingfan: We acquired the domain in Feb 09 – any use prior to that was by the previous owner of the domain name.
@xen box: Fair point – I’m not going to go into detail to defend why our prices are higher, but we basically have a limit of 20 customers to a server. What does this mean? Better performance due to lower CPU usage and much lower disk i/o (not as many customers reading/writing to disk = faster read times).
I should also note that we provide gigabit port speeds on all VPS accounts, and again – many low-end providers provide this, but with a maximum of 20 customers using the port you get a much faster speed!
Tell you what. I’ll put this out there: If you do decide to give us a try, in your order notes mention ‘Rick – LowEndLove’ and we’ll double your bandwidth and disk allocation – simply because we have a huge amount of diskspace not in use on the boxes we’re using for the lowendlove offer, and it may as well go to good use!
I know this probably wont mean to much as its all talk, but we are not another ‘fly-by-night’ host. I think we’ve proved that pretty well with our domain registrar and previous VPS brand.
Anyway – take care and good luck with whichever VPS host’s you choose!
