BHost have been featured on LowEndBox a whopping eleven times before. On their last offer, back in July, they received generally positive feedback. Bhost, who were founded in 2002, have an account on LowEndTalk but aren’t active. This offer will expire at the end of January 2013. Nick informs us that the 20% recurring discount (which is valid on all services) is the highest discount that they’ve ever done on their current range of packages (you can get a further 10% off if you pay for the year in advance). VAT will be applicable if you’re from the EU and don’t have a VAT ID.

They accept payments via credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or by PayPal. They offer a full 5 day money back guarantee, if you’re not 100% satisfied. Basically they allow all reasonable things on their servers except for certain IRC networks, tor exits, and any torrenting. You can view more OpenVZ plans here and Xen here. For more information, be sure to read their full Terms of Service and their Privacy Policy.

Something is wrong with this company! I used this offer to purchase 1.60/month VPS.
It was 2 days ago. I did payment via Paypal and never got any email back from Bhost. Since then I sent two emails asking why there is no reply. Guess what – no reply, no refund. Nothing!
    :-(
I am still waiting for their email. If this the way to treat new customers, I wonder how do they treat support tickets?!

Just sent an email to BHost. I signed up for the 1.60/pm plan yesterday afternoon but received no confirmation of my order. I am hoping that there might be some administrative error as it seems laughable that they would sell themselves out for next to nothing.

    • The vast majority of customers get their welcome email instantly (or within a couple of minutes). Some orders get flagged for further scrutiny – please email sales@bhost.net with your order number and we can take a look.

  14. I have to say BHost has been great. I have been with them for a year after a Lowendbox offer. They had a server failure in August, and all looked lost, but they tried really hard to recover the data, and in the end they did. Kept me informed all the way along. Recommended.

Been with BHost for more than a year now and the VPS I have with them has been tremendously stable. Network is excellent, there’s been all of one or two major outages in the space of a year (One of which was a DDOS, the other was a failing network switch). The only time my VPS ever went down was was when the Raspberry Pi mirror I was hosting caused the server to be suspended for exceeding my bandwidth.
I heartily recommend BHost to anyone looking for a VPS in the UK.

Slow support confirmed. I’ve reinstalled os using vps control panel and ended up with offline, not accessible state of machine. 17h, still no response.

I don’t mean to be offensive, but do all cheap vps have ‘cheap’ support? I’d be happy to use something more reliable if it comes to ticket answering. (it’s my first step in vps land)

Ticket 27038 and now 26927, guess there is some gremlin in the ticket system. To be fair I was pretty impressed with the speed for £1.60 until it broke.

  24. I got it and having terrible internet speed. Was getting 40KB/s download speeds from multiple sources. Openned a ticket. Got same day response saying “engineers getting it fixed”. Two weeks have passed and it only improved a little. Now I get 80KB/s to 160KB/s. Very unstable network if you ask me. Still insisting because I need UK connectivity. You guys know other UK cheap vps?

My original experience with BHost was pretty spot on (a year ish with great uptime) but this time around it’s been exceptionally poor.

Now my little disclaimer is I picked up the cheapest VPS for a quick weekend project I had in mind. I completed the order on christmas eve, the VPS was created immediately but it had no connectivity (despite being up and online?).

I raised a ticket with support pretty much immediately – as it was Christmas and a cheap box I wasn’t in any hurry (I just grabbed another from a different provider). Now we’re into the 10th and I’ve had 3 responses the last of which was 4 days ago. I had a chuckle to myself when they issued an invoice for the next month.

Hopefully this is just a one off but come on, this isn’t acceptable. At least some kind of service should have been provided even if it the VPS is less than a Tesco sandwidge.

I think the answer should basically be a re-provision if you cannot resolve the setup issue within a day.

    • Can you let me know your customer ID (or email it to management@BHost.net) so I can review this poor experience you’ve had and issue you a service credit as compensation. Apologies for the inconvenience and hopefully you’ll continue to enjoy our normally excellent service. Thanks.

Slow support confirmed (again). Raised an emergency ticket 14 hours ago and no response. Had to leave 123Systems for non-existent support, hopefully BHost won’t go the same way because the service is otherwise pretty good for the price. Unfortunately waiting 14 hours for a response to an emergency ticket is unacceptable for any system in production use, regardless of price. Also, I’m fairly sure Nick is a one man band – I’ve never had a response from anyone else in ~20 tickets over a couple of years.

Nick, if you’re watching, ticket #27692. It’s an easy fix for you.

    • Unfortunately our response times are not up to their usual standard as we’re down one staff member who left near the end of last year. We’re actively trying to recruit a replacement person (see https://www.bhost.net/jobs for details) to ensure all tickets get prompt responses. Apologies for the wait, I can see your ticket has now been attended to.
